    Awesome work !! I don't understand the way you used bezier curves for individual hair. Could you please explain a bit more in depth your method on that point? Thanks a lot in advance.

  •  5 років тому

    Absolutely stunning. If I had to point out one thing I don't like (and this is really nitpicking) it's the hair - it has too much detail to be a classical sculpture, but not enough detail to be photorealistic, so it is a bit distracting from the rest of the sculpture. I think less detailed hair would look a bit better.
    I would look at some classical Roman and Renaissance sculptures, to see how they did the hair. It's far less detailed, sometimes even completely abstract and stylized, but that doesn't matter, because it doesn't draw attention to itself and the overall appearance of the sculpture is realistic enough.

  • @kamius1
    @kamius1 Рік тому

    Thank you for your great video. I wonder which add-on do you apply for your sculpting.
    I am a beginner and had remarkable progress in sculpting, but it seems quite frustrating when it comes to sculpt a complex portrait without special add-ons which could improve topology and avoid destroying your mesh while sculpting.

    • @JulienKaspart
      @JulienKaspart  6 років тому

      I think it's called Cutter Tool. It's implemented from the start when you download Blender so just look it up on the Addon section, enable it and try it out :)

    • @JulienKaspart

    i've been trying to model a picture of a demon female for a little while now and my god it's not easy XD what's your best advice for doing this modelling from an image?

    • @JulienKaspart
      @JulienKaspart  4 роки тому +4

      The best advice that comes to my mind right now:
      Analyse the image as best as possible and get the basic shapes, camera angle, focal length right.
      Take into account that a 2D artwork probably has exaggerated asymmetry and/or perspective distortion which is hard to adapt to 3D.
      Choose how much you want to make a super faithful representation of the original from the camera perspective or to make it work more realistically from all angles.

    how do you set up the perspective camera view?

    • @JulienKaspart
      @JulienKaspart  5 років тому +2

      I'm not sure if I understand the question. I created a camera, split the 3D viewport and made one the camera view. I added a background image if that's what you are wondering. That can be found in the N-panel or in the camera settings if you are using Blender 2.8.

    • @JulienKaspart
      @JulienKaspart  3 роки тому +1

      I think it was called the cutter tool. An addon that's included by default in Blender 2.79.
      In the latest versions I think it was removed or discontinued but in the upcoming version 2.91 there will be a new official integration for this as Trimming Tools in the Toolbar :)
