After that win, those Kenyan players received some good amount of money from their government plus free health care for life and a car..That's what I read..The guy Injera is a legend in the sevens game, I think he's still the leading try scorer..

The you're saying some stuff naturally makes me believe you must have either played the game, or had a lot of exposure to it. Greetings from Kenya 🇰🇪

3"58, that is NOT the Kenya team, we actually do not have a single white player in our sevens team, or even the 15s.

I honestly don't follow 7s that closely anymore. However, my observations in the past have been that New Zealand uses the 7s circuit as a breeding ground for future 15s talent. It appears to be a platform for some of their best prospects to sharpen their skills, before graduating to 15s. I remember one New Zealand 7s group that included Israel Dagg, Rene Ranger, and Victor Vito in it. They were unbeatable that season, and Dagg, Ranger, and Vito went onto to be 15s stars.
While it seems to me that South Africa sends most of its 15s rejects to the 7s circuit. Despite that, we have enjoyed a considerable amount of success on the circuit, having won the championship four times. We have also been championship runners up eight times. Only New Zealand has a more dominant record than us....and it is a much more dominant record. 13 championships is a lot.
The other strong 7s nation is obviously Fiji, but I think we are going to start seeing them drift a little bit in coming years, as New Zealand and Australia include them in Super Rugby. I think that is a good thing, because a stronger Fiji 15s team is a much better platform for their rugby.

7s has only been a breeding ground for the women, most All Blacks don’t touch the 7s seen and those who do usually don’t last in the All Blacks

    Good find bro, enjoying it.
Fiji is (I think?) the only country where the biggest sport is 7s.
Getting it in the Olympics should slowly help with that though.
The main shame is that you don't get to see big 15s stars in 7s cause of busy schedules, I'm hoping World Rugby has an overhaul of the international schedule.
Also there's a lot of good content on Fijian 7s.
Sevens from Heaven is a good short doco.
And you can check out interviews with their old coach Ben Ryan for some good history as well.
African Rugby is growing. They just had the Stellenbosch Challenge with Zimbabwe, Namibia and Kenya and they flew Brazil over as well.
All free to watch on UA-cam.
    It's growing everywhere bro.
    Russia has a pro league.
    Israel plays.
Some Afghanis play Rugby in the snow.
One day we will be bigger than Soccer and we can make them stop calling themselves 'Football' cause we had that name first.
Jk. It is cool to see the sport grow though. Gotta love ruggers.
