Thanks for the wonderfully thorough review Jen. I guess though that we'll be seeing many goodies from the likes of Airscale, Eduard, Aires etc appear for this kit. Hopefully, we'll also get to see a late IXe, VIII, XVIe and praying to the modelling gods, a Mk XIV, but plenty here to keep me busy in the meantime. Only problem I foresee is deciding on a colour scheme. That's going to be a tricky one.
Hopefully you can agree with my sentiment that the old Mk1 is still a great kit then. And thanks for putting all that effort in to ensure that Airfix designed a new kit lol

It looks as if the actual moldings were done for Airfix by Academy in South Korea. The Sprue letter in a tab is typical of their recent kits, and their repops of kits such as the 1/48 Allison Mustangs originally by Accurate Miniatures.
The new Anson also has those 'academy' style sprue letter tabs, but it's pure Airfix; tooled in China and molded in India. As @Brett said, yes, the kit was produced/molded here in the UK.
I wouldn't be surprised if the tooling/moulds were actually done in South Korea. 'Designed and manufactured in the UK' doesn't mean that the moulds were made in the UK, it means that the plastic was injected there instead of India. I've got several airfix kits that have the same label, 1/48 Sea Hurricane & Tomahawk, 1/72 Swordfish etc. And the tooling for those were definitely done in China.
Airfix made a fairly big deal about the kit being produced in the UK, but I can't say I know if the moulds were made here. Due to the size, weight, complexity and relative fragility of tooling, however, I would be surprised if the tools were made elsewhere and shipped back here.

Really, really wish I had the room to tackle and display one... a heavy upgrade in modelling skills wouldn't be bad either!! 😂
'Triffic review.....can't wait see it being built! 👍
I wish we had more gals in the hobby. This was a great video review. I subscribed and looking forward to watching the build. 😊
Great review, dam now I want one.
Sweet review....like your style
Thank you 😊
Very nice gotta love airfix welljell.
Where's the pilot????
No pilot in this one unfortunately
Very informative and knowledgeable a great review AAA… BTW on Amazon the book is £185:00 ! And on eBay £300 or offer…. So you weren’t kidding about the price.
Unfortunately not, but it can be had as a pdf direct from Monforton Press for just $28 and in hardback for $85 (Canadian). Shipping would be a killer though I suspect.
@@JenesisDesignsandModelcraft Shipping to Australia was CAD$90. More than the book itself! Still cheaper than going to any of those faux marketplaces though.

Thank you for the tip!
I've just aquired one in pdf format. A lot of material indeed! 🙂
The "Spitfire Engineered" book can be had second hand (one copy only) for a mere £185 + P&P on Amazon. Bargain. Just let me arrange a loan.
Makes me very glad I bought it when it came out, I think it cost me £50
Is it finished? 😄
No, no it isn't lol
You really know your Spitfires
This kit blows the doors off the Spitfire they did in the early 1970's!
As it should Vincent lol
"spitfirery people" ....love it
Great video but I doubt you remember the olden days as your voice has not broken yet.
That would be because I'm a lady .......
@@JenesisDesignsandModelcraft Nice one, that would explain things, thanks for the reply.
@@robbeard6929 You walked right into that one hahahaha. Cheers.
amazing
First timer. I enjoyed your style very much and whilst I guess you sit on the ‘fan girl’ side of Airfix your narration didn’t get gushy……..thank you. I bring this up as I watched an unboxing , not this model, and it became annoying. Euthanasia is fine however some control is welcome.
I have both liked and subscribed and let’s see where that takes me!!
Question: are you inflight or grounded preference? Me: very much in flight.
You have a lot of knowledge both of models and real life product, did you serve or are you a flyer? Ahh you now show us your Spitfire book! (I start making my text during the video as I forget stuff!) got to say rivets?? Not particularly‘riveting’ for me!
Thank you for a great piece of work and for this newbie very new.

Hi Bob, thanks for the message. I want to defend myself from the fan girl tag, because I'm not one - I just like what I like. I am very enthusiastic about Spitfires in general though and I expect that comes across.
I like both, I enjoy making them inflight and using crew figures now and then.
I am an aircraft technician (Heavy) in the RAF, and have recently started the journey towards a PPL, so it's a yes on both of those lol.
@@JenesisDesignsandModelcraft : now I don’t get this ‘…….defend not being a fan girl……’ and far from just you my dear. You are a girl and a fan and that’s fine in the same way I am a boy and a fan. Don’t denigrate who and what you are just because some people generally women that you must be …….This that and the other. Be what you are and be happy with it.
Great news about your intentions re a PPL, I wish I had. My father flew a glider, he loved the silence!
Good to chat

Your Brilliant !
Quick look..........45 minutes
Come now Gordon, I could have taken so much longer ....
Check out all the other unboxing vids. This IS the quick one!
Good old AF, goes from one plastic bag for all sprues to no bag for some sprues with some paper! Why not put the wings in separate bags, or even each sprue in a bag! Some great new kits ruined by cheap plastic, bad moulding and as usual packaging, your vid did not some most of packaging.
Thanks for the view but need to learn were the camera is spent a few minutes looking at ur mat
It's an affliction!
Though 1/24 isn’t my scale..This is a winner of a kit and perhaps a new benchmark for Airfix.!
Thanks for a great video and run through..By the way I caved and got the Vulcan, watching your review again..Then I got the Valiant…So I thought it was only right to get the Victor..😬..Yeah,,,That is a great Spitfire kit..Isn’t it..🤔….All the best with the build.🥸👍
I'm not sure if it's a full on benchmark. The Typhoon kit has a lot more to it, but then the Typhoon was a bit of a brute IRL wasn't it. I haven't built the Vulcan yet, I might do it on here when I do though.
