- We visited a family of snow leopards and immediately fell in love with the little, pudgy cubs.

There's nothing better than watching newborn animals curiously explore the world around them. How can your eyes not be glued to all the digging, pouncing, sniffing, falling, and those wide eyes that are too big for their heads. So you can only imagine what it was like when we made friends with a few baby snow leopards in Germany-they were like kittens on special steroids that multiply cuddleability by a factor of 10. The pudgy furballs love nothing more than to go on mini adventures in their playground at Magdeburg Zoo, and not even their mother was able to curb their curious mischievousness. We saw them nudge around a soccer ball, dip their huge, snowshoe-like paws into bowls of water, and tinkle on the clinic floor (somehow even that was cute). To top it off they are the official symbol of the Girl Scout Association of Kyrgyzstan. We bet they really like their cookies!

Well, even a house cat does it. If you grab a cat by it's scruff, it'll become stiff and won't move at all. Even adult cats does it. If you own a cat, you can try it yourself. And you don't have to feel bad, scruffing doesn't hurt cat at all. It will only feel a slight tug and nothing else. The only risk is, if you hold a cat by a scruff for too long, or if the cat is pudgy and heavy, it may feel uncomfy over time. I only recommend scruffing your cat, if it's upset or panicking, to limit it's movements and thus making it easier to calm it down.
Snow leopard fathers usually have nothing to do with the cubs. How awesome yours get along so well

There is just something about Snow Leopards that draws me to them.. They are so majestic and incredibly beautiful. I wish I could have one and give it the happiest life ever where it can run and play everyday without fear. Just seeing this creature brightens my day and makes me smile.

@DRAGON SLAYER 15 kilograms? You are joking? :) Snow leopards do not eat so much, it's not lions. Even lions in zoos are fed 8-10 kg per day. Snow leopards - about 3 kg of meat per day.

How gorgeous. It breaks my heart when I see their beautiful faces and think that in the wild they still get hunted and killed for their fur by poachers. As with any endangered animal. What will these people do once they have killed the last wild one? They're so short sighted.

Besides which, just because _you_ aren't poor, and most of the people you personally associated with aren't, doesn't mean _everybody_ is as well-off as you. Snow leopard territory extends far outside Himrachal Pradesh, you know; all the way through the Himalayas, the Pamirs, the Hindu Kush, the Tian Shan, and the Altai Mountains in Mongolia.
You think nomadic herdsmen in Tibet or Mongolia have the same sort of middle-class urban lifestyle _you_ have?

i held two snow leopard babies when i worked in a zoo ten or so years ago! the most adorable kittens i will ever see!

Beautiful creatures! Even the adults are gorgeous (like tigers and lions etc). Cats are beautiful, whether domesticated or wild, large or small!

Goodness this is so cute! I absolutely adore Snow Leopards and seeing those cubs just being energetic fluff-balls cheers me up no-end.
It's such a shame they're under such threat.
They, like all big cats, are beautiful and stunning creatures and it would be a fine thing if they stayed like that for many, many more decades. Centuries if possible. I, as I'm sure many people will agree with, would hate to see these wonderful creatures become just another history lesson.

It's better for them to be safe and sound in sanctuaries rather than getting killed in the "freedom" by poachers. Especially considering their extremely endangered status.
Having certain amount of animals in zoos or wildlife shelters will only help the animals as it will raise awareness on these creatures and can prevent genetic bottlenecks.

Hopefully Snow Leopard multiply in their natural habitat, in the Himalayas & Korakoram mountain ranges & Kashmir. Beautiful big cats. Plus more power & funds to this conservation project!

They're unusual among the big cats in that they have never attacked a human. They just walk away - - -
Yeah and despite them looking so big they only weight 30/40kg, and are like the tames big cats. They purr like our donestic cats and eats like them. And they are so incredible gorgous
To be fair, walking away is what 95% of other big cats also do.
They're so fuzzy, I'm gonna die. Seriously. Snow leopard cubs are particularly more fluffy than other large cat species' cubs.

Ever since I saw a snow leopard make a kill while falling from a 400-foot cliff and living, the snow leopard has been my favorite big cat. Their fur is so fluffy, it creates a cushion, plus cats know how to fall. I have no doubt this extreme sport is the norm for snow leopards. In my opinion, it makes them the toughest. They're also awesome to look at...all that fluffiness. Wish I could feel it, but yeah, that's selfish. It looks soft. It might not be, but it looks soft.
if I recall correctly that was the first time one of them was filmed hunting. that footage is fantastic!! is funny to see the little ones so chubby and clumsy, becoming the incredible predator they are!

A great reminder for us all to do what we can to end poaching globally of all species ASAP. One way I find is to educate others on youtube videos for example ending trophy hunting in all countries as Botswana and Costa Rica have done helps to end poaching as poachers will use trophy hunting as a guise for poaching. Also just increasing compassion within ourselves and for all others people and other species included, as people learn from each other. I am vegan for health, environmental and compassion for other animals reasons, several of my friends are now vegan just by learning from me, I do not preach I just set a positive example we can do the same to help people make better choices to no longer buy animal parts and/or poach.
Thank god some people take care of in danger animals! Thank you so much!
