Lzzy Hale is one of the best rock vocalists live nowadays and one fierce front woman. And also one of the sweetest human beings, so modest and so down to earth, it's mind-blowing. She is bestie with Amy Lee - check out their duet Break In for some vocal harmonies from heaven. 👇Hit the like for more Halestorm!
If you go down the Halestorm rabbit hole, you'll find that Lizzy is very outspoken about most things. I love that she is totally OK with songs about her not always making the best choices when it comes to relationships, one night stands, what have you. Since when is it only OK for dudes to sing about that crap? Anyway, her band rocks. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing more Halestorm on here.
she said in an interview that female artists can speak on everything the males can and more. Females can get away with more then male artist. the interviewer kept trying to make it about female struggles in music and lzzy turned it on it head and made the interviewer and made her look stupid. so please stop this females have it harder then males bs.. she even thinks its bs.
For a woman with such a hardcore image in her music and her onstage persona, Lzzy is one of the nicest people in rock. *Everyone* likes her, and she’s worked with everyone from violinist Lindsey Stirling to country singer Eric Church to hard rock cellists Apocalyptica. The video of Eric Church and Lzzy doing his song “That’s Damn Rock and Roll” at the CMT Awards show in 2014 is a masterpiece in “partnering” by Lzzy, and also damn funny, because they hadn’t had a chance to practice together, but she not only nailed it, she almost blew Church off the stage with his own song! There’s a connection to another recent reaction of yours: Lzzy invited The Warning to open for Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless on tour a couple years back, and she was so impressed by the band in general and especially with singer/guitarist Dany that she bought a Gibson Explorer for her as a gift and gave it to her onstage. (There are videos of the gifting, and also both women talking about it.) Her voice is possibly the best of any woman in rock today - no one growls or howls like Lzzy Hale.
This tour was a great one too! Missed The Pretty Recklass because Momson had covid, but The Warning Rocked and, of course, my girl Lzzy kicked ass! Hubby and I dubbed it the Metal Lilith Fair. Haha!
She also did a song with Lindsey Sterling called Shatter Me. A lot of covers: •Separate Ways with Daughtry •Close my eyes forever (under Device lead singer of Disturbed) •We Will Rock You (under In This Moment- Maria Brink, Lzzy, & Taylor Momsen - The Pretty Reckless) *Halestorm has mini albums with lots of other covers
So happy to see Halestorm here !! You NEED to listen to "Love Bites(So Do I)", especially the live version, "capture in the Live Room". it will blow your mind :)
I saw Halestorm live a couple years ago and Lzzy was outstanding live. She covered Whitney’s “I will Always Love You” and not only absolutely nailed it, but played the piano at the same time. She is very outspoken, but she is also one of the best rock vocalists out there
I LOVE THIS SONG! Such a great song. And she can sing her butt off. One of my favorite female singers EVER!!! To me, this song is about that super intense relationship that is so toxic, but has such many intensely high moments. Of course it had the lows too, but it comes with those intense highs. This is the ultimate "time to get mad" song.
Lzzy is one of those vocalists where the studio tracks don't do her justice...I've seen them live 3 times, and what she's capable of without studio editing is incredible.
This is the great Lzzy Hale. On the drums is her little brother. They are from a small town called Red Lion in Pennsylvania. Just a few miles from where I live. These guys rock.
She performed with Eric Church at the CMA Best of Fest in 2014, and blew everyone away. The song was something like That's Damn Rock and Roll.... can't remember the exact name. That would be a great one to do for a reaction.
My band opened for them in 2010, Croc Rock, Allentown, PA. It was my favorite show. The crowd was awesome. Then Halestorm put on an amazing show. They covered Bad Romance and it sounded perfect. Lzzy sings great live.
It's insane that Lzzy Hale isn't much more well known! She is amazing! She's also very good friends with Amy Lee (Evanescence) and they've done some duets.
I read somewhere that it had something to do with her parent's toxic relationship prior to their divorce and the conversations she had with her mother.
She is “temporarily” filling in for Skid Rows lead singer. My favorite (underrated) tracks of Halestorm is “Familiar Taste of Poison.” I also like “Amen, I am the fire, Freak Like Me or Steeple.” Seen her many years ago. Amazing voice. After her show she sang with Tom Keifer (former sing of Cinderella.) was a great show.
‘Familiar Taste of Poison’ is actually the first Halestorm song I listened to and I was like I NEED MORE, and this is one of my other favourite Halestorm songs
All great songs, they really do have a fantastic catalogue of songs and don’t seem to get the credit they deserve, much in the same way Black Stone Cherry don’t, albeit totally different style of music.
One of my ALL times favorite bands. Halestorm has a bunch of bangers. Love Bites (So Do I), Mz. Hyde, Amen, Apocalyptic, Do Not Disturb, and my favorite, I am the fire...there's a bunch more.
I would argue Rest in Peace is more about getting sober from addiction than an actual break up (that fits with what Dorothy said after the song was released) but yeah it can be read as a savage break up song.
Lzzy could sing the phone book and make it ROCK!! She is the only vocalist I know of who can hold a candle to Ann Wilson. Halestorm have a lot of covers, rockin' up songs and they kick ass! To get a real insight into Ms Hale, check out their song Mz Hyde, in fact check them all out, you can't go wrong. Lzzy and Arejay (the drummer) are siblings. The band support up and coming artists and when they toured recently with The Warning as support, Lzzy gifted a specially made guitar to Dany, she was paying it forward.
Halestorm used to come to my city A LOT because it was the first city they played on their first real tour. I've seen them so much and they ALWAYS brought the energy. Met them once as well. Great people
Heard this about 10 years ago and it blew this 1970's rocker away. Lzzy had got the voice and playing talent that doesn't happen often now. They do a great rockin cover of the Beatles "She' So Heavy" that i really like and i grew up hearing the Beatles version starting when it came out.
When I try to get people to listen to Halestorm for the first time I basically explain Lzzy as being a sort of cross between Joan Jett and Stevie Nicks with a modern edge, and they usually get intrigued then.
I got to see Halestrom years ago at MoonDanceJam. One of Lzzy Hales influences is Dio. She even did a tribute song for him. I wish I could remember the song, but she loved Dio. Without looking it up, I believe the drummer is her brother?
Yes Halestorm is awesome! Ask AR about the one he did in a live recently. Live at Wembley song is I Get Off starts at 10:40 ends at 17:50 it will blow your mind.
There is so much good rock music from females out right now, Halestorm is actually another family group Sister singing and borther on drums, Lizzie is another example of just how nice metal people are in real life
I was Hailstorm for the first time when they came to town with Stone Sour, Theory of a Deadman, and All That Remains. I have loved then before they made it big. Her brother is the drummer and he is a show on his own. Lzzy is now the singer for Skid Row for now. She is a great talent and going to be an even bigger success then she is now.
One of my favorite Halestorm songs is "Here's to Us". There are multiple versions of it, but make sure you watch the explicit version - not the radio-friendly one. The swear words make it hit so much harder. It's actually a sweet song. The official music video is good, too.
I saw them live at the Buffalo Chip campground at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, 60 thousand bikers in a cow pasture and they rocked the place. Everybody was jumping up and down and the groud was shaking!!! Check out their song "Hears to Us"!!!!!
IF you're talking about Joe, they are still together (even though in the past, it was on and off). But they have been together for almost 10 years now.
@ianjardine7324 I honestly feel bad that he has to hear his sister sing songs like I Get Off and Do Not Disturb. That's gotta be situations no brother wants to associate with his sister. 😂
One of the most powerful female voices in rock. And, yes, she can do it live. If you want something with her voice, and not so dark, try I Am the Fire by Halestorm.
Great Reaction! You should think about checking out the CMA Fest performance of "That's Damn Rock and Roll" with her and Eric Church, great performance from 2014.
She did a version of “I will always love you” that is both pure and a little growly. This band is incredible. Go down the rabbit hole. Ms Hyde, Freak like me, I get off, dear daughter, etc, etc. 😊
If you really want to here how high she can get with her range, check out the live version of this song from Auckland 2017. She opens up with like a 45 second belt, raising her voice up to near glass shattering levels. As a few others have said, her performance with Eric Church on the 2014 Country Music Awards on "That's Damn Rock and Roll" is another great one.
Lzzys voice is phenomenal. She is an absolute powerhouse to the point that the recordings don't do her voice justice. Her live performances sound even better. Halestorm started out as a family band in 1997, Lzzy singer and guitar, her brother Arejay on drums and their dad Roger on Bass. Their last name is Hale so halestorm. The dad is no longer in the band but Lzzy and Arejay are. Also she has been dating Joe Hottinger, her guitar player, for a long time now, so yes better relationship.
I do love Halestorm, Lzzy Hale is amazing. I haven't heard any metal female this good since Joan Jett. Not only can she pull off the metal music, but her ballads are amazing. She does this song with Lindsey Stirling called Shatter Me that just knocks it out of the park. Of course half of that is Lindsey, but with Lzzy singing, it levels up.

It's definitely a great rabbit hole to jump in on. Plays guitar, songs like an angel if she wants to but is known for her power and screams....she's also done collaborations outside of the Band, so if you're looking, you'll be looking for Lzzy Hale...no I in the name.
glad you watching finally the one true Queen of Rock. Lzzy's vocal range is just unreal. she can sing Whitney Houston at the end of a concert after screaming for hrs and it will sound just as good as if Whitney was doing it herself. her covers are simply amazing. the rabbit hole she has as a vocalist will not disappoint anyone who likes her voice. the fact shes not a bigger star despite who she collabs with is wild to me. also I should add, not only can she sing, she can play guitar, drums and piano.
Growing up, I too, was not enamored with female vocalists. However, Lzzy Hale is an exception. Her range and dynamics, in my opinion, is unmatched. If you were intrigued by, "I Love the Misery", I suggest you check out, "I like it heavy", "I am the Fire", "Here's to us" and probably the best one, "The Familiar Taste of Poison". Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
Halestorm has a lot of hits: Love Bites, I Am the Fire, Freak Like Me, Here's To Us, Rock Show, and others... :) Also Izzy Hale has a great duet with Chris Daughtery singing a cover of Journey's Separate Ways, and she did a great one with the violinist Lindsey Stirling called "Shatter Me".
Oh snap…. You found Halestorm with front woman Lzzy Hale! This is a great band with a huge library! My favorite by them is Here’s To Us! She also has a great duet with Amy Lee from Evanescence the songs called Break In.
Dear Daughter will touch your heart by Halestorm . You will relate to it . I've dedicated to my daughters. Also since you love Amy Lee from evanescence you will love Break in it's both Lzzy Hale and Amy Lee under Halestorm. I've seen them both a few times . I'm seeing Halestorm again this summer . They have a lot of good songs . Her brother is the drummer . She can sing anything. She's so amazing live. One song that you may love by Halestorm is Taste of Poison besides Dear Daughter . Her voice is gorgeous in it. She can sing anything. Please check out more.
Early live videos of "It's Not You" are amazing (Chattanooga TN like 15 years ago). It's how she would open up all of her shows back in the day. It's how I was introduced to them in '08 when they opened up for Trapt and Shinedown. Absolutely blew me away
They have an amazing live performance at Wembley Stadium that just came out. It opens with I miss the misery and goes up from there. There are a bunch of great tracks from that. You can’t really go wrong but I personally love Bombshell. She has been in a long term relationship with the current guitar player in the band.
You should definitely listen to all their stuff and if you have the opportunity definitely see them live. I've seen them 4 times and they are always amazing live 🤟🤟🤟🤟
Lizzy hale is a fucking phenom. She as bad ass as anyone. She can sing like pink. And. sing metal/punk songs. No bullshit this woman is the truth. Look into her catalog. Also don’t skim past her covers. Rock on sista friend🤘
Lzzy was rhe first woman EVER to win a Grammy for Metal/Rock performance. Song is LOVE BITES

glad you watching finally the one true Queen of Rock.
I Like It Heavy is my favorite Halestorm song
Halestorm has a lot of hits: Love Bites, I Am the Fire, Freak Like Me, Here's To Us, Rock Show, and others... :)
Also Izzy Hale has a great duet with Chris Daughtery singing a cover of Journey's Separate Ways, and she did a great one with the violinist Lindsey Stirling called "Shatter Me".
The last Album is amazing.. Her range and ability is unreal.
Oh...and the lead singers of Halestorm, In This Moment and Pretty Reckless did a cover of Queen's We Will Rock You.
Love this band and would love to see you react to more there are so many good choices you really can just pick anything and be blown away
They are awesome!!!!
Vixen was a great 80's 90's era female band
They have an amazing live performance at Wembley Stadium that just came out. It opens with I miss the misery and goes up from there.
There are a bunch of great tracks from that. You can’t really go wrong but I personally love Bombshell.
She has been in a long term relationship with the current guitar player in the band.
Lizzy Hale and Lindsey sterling Shatter Me is amazing
You should definitely listen to all their stuff and if you have the opportunity definitely see them live. I've seen them 4 times and they are always amazing live 🤟🤟🤟🤟
Lizzy hale is a fucking phenom. She as bad ass as anyone. She can sing like pink. And. sing metal/punk songs. No bullshit this woman is the truth. Look into her catalog. Also don’t skim past her covers. Rock on sista friend🤘
