Doesn't matter who it is, everyone loves Dave Grohl. Kind of like everyone likes Keanu Reeves, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson. They are just down-to-earth, stand-up people, despite their fame and wealth.
💯💯💯❤️
It makes so much sense that Dave and Jack Black are tight. They’re two just universally beloved dudes who just seem like they’re legitimately awesome.
To be fair, horrible people dislike them…but there’s a reason for that lol
@@JeffKelly03They're both insanely cringe and a LOT of people think so. Especially to Jack Black. He's really difficult to watch if you're over the age of 15.
I have recently really come to adore him. Like just wanna give him a big hug.
Dave Grohl = the drummer who lost his lead singer (Nirvana), and the lead singer who lost his drummer (Foo Fighters). Yet, he continues to be such an amazing person.
Dave was the only Foo Fighter at first, he wrote and played all of the insterments on the first album named "Foo Fighters". Dave then formed the band Foo Fighters to support the album.
The first Foo Fighters CD that came out, was all Dave Grohl. He played drums, guitar, bass, rhythm guitar and all the vocals. I believe he mixed and produced it as well.
Yes you are correct
I remember buying their first Album when I was 15. Ive been on holdays in the UK and just bought the MC (casette back then ) cause i like the Album cover. Nobody ever heard of Foo Fighters. "Big Me" just blew me away... I turn 43 next month.
One of my favorite versions of this song is when Dave invited Nandi Bushell to play drums for them in LA. She was great and they killed it.
Yea Man , You Have To Watch That He Did With Her At The Forum In LA On 8/25/2022 !!!!! He Bought An 11 Year Girl On Stage And She Played This Song on The Drums As There Closing Song !!!!!
Dave Grohl (singer) was the drummer in Nirvana & after he died, Grohl created the Foo & became bigger than ever. He also played the guitar solo part & was the demon for Tenacious D's song "Tribute"
He played drums on basically all the Tenacious D albums.
He also played drums for Queens of the stone age.
And them crooked vultures
Tenacious D's Pick Of Destiny too 👍Brilliant movie 🎬
A little nice story about this song! David Letterman when he had his heart attack and was stuck in the hospital Listened to this album and this song so much! A few years later when he was retiring, for his last show he had the Foo Fighters play and had them play this song at the end of the broadcast. He credits them and this song to keep him going after the heart attack and just told them he will always be greatful for it!
LOVE THIS!
I remember that episode. It was pretty awesome.
One of the reasons you write the next song…
That’s great. David Letterman brought on awesome music guests. I’ll never forget Steve Earle sing Taney Town.
They played Everlong on Letterman 5 times including his last show.
He plays the guitar like the drums, that’s why he has such driving beats.
First Foo Fighters song to pull me in was Monkey Wrench. it's from the same album as this. Entire album is amazing.
Yes! Monkey Wrench is the best
He also sat in on the drums with Queens of the Stone Age' " No one knows.
No one knows? He was in all of the videos for that album
Foo fighters is good, but I always miss Dave Grohl on drums.
@@michaelforsythe8682 correct dave drummed for the 1st queens album
He also played drums for Them Crroked Vultures with John Paul Jones and Josh Homme.
You mean no one today knows LOL Back then when he played for Queens of the Stone Age everyone knew and we still do😂
Dave was a punk rocker. The coolest thing about Dave is how humble and fan friendly he is. Got a heart of gold. You should check out some of their live performances when they bring someone out of the audience to play with them on stage. One simple kind gesture from the band will change some fans life. It's something they don't have to do but do it for the fans.
the acoustic version is pretty amazing
The acoustic version is one of my favorite songs ever
So beautiful ❤
@@zachhenderson7982 I came here to make this exact comment.
Check out this song, live at Wembley, 2008. Dave has the audience in the palm of his hand the whole time... it's fantastic!!
Yes their live concerts are the best.
I love the Wembley concert, I've watched it multiple times. Jimmy Page made me choke up. ✌️
Definitely
Wife and I been to 5 Foo Fighters shows. They're so damn good. Grohl lost one best friend, Kurt Cobain and he just lost his other best friend to drugs. Depressing, don't know how he comes back again but if he does, we'll be there.
They are great live! Saw them twice. Nonstop energy!
They loved to have fun on their videos. They love to laugh at themselves while rocking a great song. RIP Taylor 😞🖤
I highly recommend the song "Times Like These." It was written at a time when it looked like the band was going their separate ways. They play it at every concert to remind themselves how good they have it. It takes on new meaning after their drummer OD'ed in 2022. I highly recommend you watch the version from his memorial concert.
Now check out the same song performed *live* by the Foo Fighters with then-11 yr old drum phenom Nandi Bushell on the sticks. She had challenged Dave Grohl to a drum-off a couple times during COVID, and impressed him so much he invited her to the US to sit in with the band (she's a Brit). Very cool. ua-cam.com/video/jsDgrKdczAE/v-deo.html
"Everlong" Live at Wembley is epic
My favourite live act I’ve ever seen. My Hero live the Taylor Hawkins tribute is a must watch
that was such a great performance, was heartwarming to see Dave smile as he watched Taylors son playing drums.. i think he really needed that in such a time of grief.
One of my favorite details I learned about this song later in life is that Dave approached this song (songwriting wise) as a drummer. He translated his time signatures with drums to guitar which explains some of the tones he achieves and the synchronization.
If you have a moment, Dave gives an explanation to the meaning of the song, complete with his life at that moment post Nirvana, with a live acoustic performance. In the striped down version you can really see his explanation in real time.
The Acoustic version will blow you away. It changes how the song feels, and it really becomes a love song on a next level. He does it half and half ,live now.
You need to listen to the Best of you by the Foo fighters. Such an emotional song and beautiful lyrics.
💯🎯💜
You gotta do "My Hero" it's a very touching song and the video's pretty touching as well. Foo Fighters is one of the greatest
Best Foo song, IMO and one of the greatest songs of all time.
Agreed. I don't mind the FF, but I've explored their stuff and I don't hate it, but don't love it either. Nothing else they did hit me like this song..
Look for the live version of this with Nandi Bushell as the drummer. It will blow your mind.
You should have mentioned she was 10 yearns old!
Indeed. This is a perfect song. One of my all time favorites.
"EVERLONG" live at Wembley Stadium in 2008 will blow your mind. Dave Grohl is the real deal... must be seen live.💯 Check the live out (even if on your own time). It will blow your mind and you will get a better understanding of who is and how good he is.🤯 Loved your reaction. Peace and light...✌💞
Dave Grohl actually played for a few bands after Nirvana's ending. My personal favorite aside from Foo Fighters was when he played drums for The Queens Of The Stone Age
He also was in Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers for a hot minute. Played a handful of gigs, including IIRC an SNL spot, but he decided to turn down their offer to join full time because it wasn't the right time for him to get back into a band full time.
Everlong is one of my favorite Songs. I love the Music Videos of FF especially Lern to fly and Walk. They are very funny. You have to watch them.
Everlong is my favorite by them.
The King of Rock n Roll , Dave wrote this song in 45 minutes while sleeping at his friends, in a sleeping bag, homeless, just after his divorce! Most beautiful love song ever!!! Top 5!!! This song goes in to the pit of my gut! The video doesn’t do the song justice! Great reaction BP!!!! You are the man!!!!!
I think you're thinking of Walking After You (also a beautiful song). This one he wrote about his girlfriend at the time, Louise Post from Veruca Salt who he felt like he had an amazing connection with.
Shout out, Warren, Ohio
Dave Grohl is a huge Led Zeppelin fan. His musical inspiration on drums was the late great John Bonham of LZ.
The Foo Fighters were part of the Kennedy Center Honors performances in honor of Led Zeppelin. Also, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones joined the Foo Fighters at Wembley where the band covered two Led Zeppelin songs. Dave frequently mentions Led Zeppelin in interviews.
Dave Grohl attended the Led Zeppelin Celebration Day O2 concert which was the first time they performed together in over 20+ years with John Bonham’s son Jason on the drums. This concert holds the record for most request for tickets with over 20M people worldwide tried to get seats.
Please react to Kashmir from the O2 concert as the older guys showed why they (Led Zeppelin) are one of the best bands ever.
❤ cant wait to see them in June when they come to Scotland ❤
This is my favorite foo fighters song. The video is a trip...
Yes after Kurt passed away
No one can take this away from the Foo Fighters. They Rock!
Definitely my favorite song and video from them
This song live is amazing - the Wembley performance and also the one with Nandi Bushell on drums. If you want your heart to break a little, try "My Hero" by them live at the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert where his 16 year old son plays his late father's drums... it is beautiful but bittersweet. Dave Grohl is considered one of the nicest guys in muisc!
Echoes ,patience, silence and Grace is a Masterpiece LP
This song, My Hero, and Best of You are 3 of my favorite rock songs all-time.
Not to mention, they are incredible live.
Such a GREAT song!!! LOVE Foo Fighters
Live at Wembley Stadium, this song, blew me away!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You need to react to that video!
Watch Foo Fighters: Back and Forth if you haven't.
Great documentary.
@@BrandonWestfall will do. Thanks
Dave grohl is like the keanu reeves of rock, everyone likes him and says he is such a down to earth dude.
The drums on this are amazing
The video is by Michel Gondry.. the mad frenchman.. He directed Eternal Sunshine of A Spotless Mind...
My favorite love song and it doesn't even say the word love. The feeling of the song is more powerful for me, without the crazy video.
Foo Fighters are so awesome ❤
Dave grohl once covered prince's darling Nikki. When prince performed at the superbowl he covered the foo fighters the best of you. That should tell you how good the foo fighters are. If i remember correctly Dave once said the gap band was an influence for him as a drummer. I think that's where he got the drum parts for smells like teen spirit
You really need to find the live version with Nandi Bushell…perfection!
This is my favorite FF song...they close every show out with this one !....the video is like a dream...dreaming about being punk, in a fight, the window is bricked up, the hand gets big lol...they are in the Evil Dead cabin ...just like my dreams 😮... they are known for outrageous videos. RIP Taylor Hawkins. Miss him so much....
My favourite band. Walked down the aisle to this ❤
I LUV THAT YOU LOVE THIS SONG!!!!
Love Dave! Yes Nirvana drummer.
Dave is simply an amazing person and artist. And now you absolutely watch these live.
Again, my FAVOURITE Foo Song! ❤ He also does an acoustic version too! So good! Enjoy! 🤘🏻🇨🇦🤘🏻
Wouldve been dope if you watched them do this live at Wembley. That performance always gives me goosebumps.
So many classic great songs from then to still check out. My hero, Best of You, or maybe All my Life next by them. I’m excited to be seeing them in concert for the first time next week!!
I forgot to include "My Hero" on a list I just posted of Foo Fighter's greatest songs. The music video is pretty great!.
@@CelticSpiritsCoven it truly is
Any live from them is guaranteed gold
Love this song too! Such great lyrics and music.
This is undoubtedly classic so thanks for checking it out. You need to check out “Learn to Fly” but played live by 1000 musicians. It’ll give you goosebumps for sure!
One of the first songs I learned how to play on guitar, over 20 years ago and still love jamming it.
There’s a live version of this song you really need to watch ( much more powerful) - Foo Fighters Everlong Live at Wembley Stadium 2008.
I love this band 😍
I so know you listened to it again straight after recording :)
This is one of those rare occasions where the music video version is longer than the single.
The director of this music video is Michel Gondry (pronounced me-shell gone-dree) and has directed some amazing music videos, if you ever want to go down that rabbit hole
LIVE at Wembley statium is MIND BLOWING for this jam is the benji. 🤘
Dave has a great memoir. Not gonna lie … I listened on audiobook. But worth it. Who is he inspired by? Name it. He is an encyclopedia of classic rock, metal, funk, Motown, disco, etc.
Great tune! Haven't heard it in awhile!
PLAYLIST!! In 52 years of loving music this is my favourite song ever! It's not something revolutionary, it's just a really great, solid song with fantastic lyrics. It's the one you skip to not skip past. I'd love to see you react to my favourite band, The Butterfly Effect. Not many reaction channels have done them. World's on Fire is good. It has horns.😁
Can't wait for you to (hopefully) check out some live Foo performances! They're all gold.
They put on a GREAT show. Love them. This is my sons favorite song. If you want to get smacked in the feels check out the tribute show for Tyler Hawkins ( the drummer who passed away). His 16 year old son Shane Hawkins playing the drums for the song My Hero.
Thanks for this. Sonetines, I dont know why, I forget how good the Foo Fighters are.
The KROQ acoustic recording of this song is absolute magic.
This song is 🔥🔥🔥
Foo's drummer was 1 of the baddest around & he died a few months ago
2 years ago
From a drumming standpoint, Grohl has said that drummers from Disco bands were some of his favorites.
You should see the live version of this song. It's really amazing.
If you're at all interested in going down a very different rabbithole, the director of this video was Michel Gondry, who has done a whole bunch of super cool music videos, and directed (and cowrote) the film eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
"This is a Bop" yes sir it is. Foo Fighters is great stripped down pop rock done right. The world is better for it.
About a year after Kurt died, Dave came out with his first FF album. I remember the CD cover he was smiling in the picture on the back. It was hard to see him smiling considering that Kurt was dead. Dave wrote all the songs for his first album and played all of the instruments. The first album meandered between punk and pop. Some heaver punk sounding songs: "This is a Call", "Wattershed", "Weenie Beenie", "Xstatic". He moved to a little bit more of a pop sound with "Big Me" - which the music video for was for Mentos! Those were the big songs from this album.
Then came the 2nd Album "The Color and the Shape". The first song "Monkey Wrench" showed his sound was way more polished, and got the energy going from the start. This song you listed to here is on that 2nd album. There are so many great songs from this album.
As for the rest of his albums, other huge hits are "All My Life", "Best of You", "In Your Honor", "Learn to Fly", "Long Road to Ruin", "No Way Back", "Times Like These", "February Stars". Foo Fighters have so many great songs. Dave was indicted twice into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame --- 1st for Nirvana and 2nd for Foo Fighters. They have so many Emmys and golden globes. There's lots of great songs to explore.
This is one of my all time favorite songs…
The blonde is drummer Taylor Hawkins(RIP). I always loved how even in a serious song, they always had such fun in their videos. This is a serious song juxtaposed by a funny video that is still a perfect fit somehow
He loved Louise's harmonies in Veruca Salt. So thats why its so different.
There is a great video where Dave is just playing a guitar and taking about this song, what it’s about and how he wrote it…and how he has no guitar training and doesn’t know what the notes are called. Fantastic video. Worth a watch.
Acoustic version!!!!!! Gottta tap into that one as well. Mmmmm, I feel it so much more 😄✌️💙🎵
I was a punk rocker in the 80s and Dave Grohl was the drummer from 1986 to 1990 for a Hardcore punk band named Scream out of DC. He can play anything!
I like their WALKING AFTER YOU on the X-Files soundtrack.
Their first single is a song called This is a Call. You would probably like it
Hootie and the Blowfish has a huge song called, "I Only Want to Be With You." Loved this raction.
One influence is Husker Du and Bob Mould. He plays with Bob in the tribute show, See a Little Light.
All my life is my favorite.
"Promise not to stop when I say when." My interpretation of that is that one partner may be weaker and think they want to walk away. He is asking his partner to fight for him not to leave & let him know their love is worth fighting for
This song is a love letter to louise post of Veruca Salt. She originally sang some backing vocals on the demo over the phone. Check out veruca salts songs. Seether, volcano girls, and shutterbug. They were also huge in the 90s
My favorite Foo Fighters song is These Days great song to review
Takes me back… Love this!
OMG, I have NEVER seen this video before, yet must have seen dozens of different concert vids of it (their Wembley concert and the one with Nandi Bushell ((after their drum off))are my favs)
One of my favorite bands, and one of my favorite songs of all time. You should also check out their song hero, I bet you will have heard it somewhere before!
Dude, there is a live version of this song, that is just simply amazing. Starts off very aucustic, one of the best versions of the song, better than the studio version
The "girl" in this video was actually their drummer, Taylor Hawkins who passed recently. You should also check out (if you havent already) my hero. With his son shane hawkins on drums.
Great reaction! Would love to see you react to this song live with Nandi Bushell on drums. She challenged Dave Grohl to a drum off and ended up being invited to play with them live. Awesome!
This song makes me emotional. It takes me right back to such a carefree time and an incredible era of music
Aww Taylor. ❤ I hope we are always able to hold Dave up. The world is a much better place with him in it. 🤘Foos!
You asked about Dave's influences. There is a many part documentary about all the musical influences in his life. He is a fan of all kinds of music. I am amazed how he went from behind the drums and Kurt to out front.
This music video was shot by the AMAZING Michel Gondry. A french film maker that has directed bjork, daft punk, lenny kravitz, chemical brothers, white stripes, etc... And done movies such as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind &, The Science of Sleep
Now you have done this and also watched Nandi Bushell you need to do Nandi Bushell and the foo fighters together playing this live... Amazing
