@@ryanfrancisco8109 Front end IMO, HTML is quick to pick up then JavaScript. Node.JS backend will be easy with JS front, Python is pretty quick to pick up too. Then most jobs I see use SQL, and I like MongoDB because it's really straightforward. Plus, starting with frontend means you'll visually see what you're building, which makes it more fun to start. The backend has other stuff you need to understand like RESTful APIs, curl/insomnia/Postman. If you have any questions please message me, I will help you with whatever I can!

Having 6 years of programming experience as self free lance developer and also with companies and still going strong I must say she has done a great job conveying the correct message. But it's never easy as it might seem. Only if you have passion and focus then this is for you. Few stay in this field after learning as they find it boring or hard but that's not how it's suppose to work.

Great for giving you a whirlwind tour of relevant technologies, but you will need to go into much more depth to be job-ready.
I teach JavaScript and ReactJS (for free on my channel) and these take the average learner about a year to use confidently.

I am older myself and just started learning. I use to think I was getting to old to change careers...out of fear of change and the unknown...or possibly just willingness to settle because its "easier to stay where you're at". I realized I hate where I'm at with my current career and will never get out of this hole unless I dig myself out...no one is going to give you a ladder. I've realized you can change at any age...its just an excuse to be complacent. So good luck and I know you can do it if you apply yourself!

If you have a pretty solid foundation in programming then probably you can do it in 6-7 months or even earlier. But if you haven't written any code before, then it might take from 1 to 2 years to get a junior job.
      That's my take.

To do full stack just use a stack... No you don't need to know HTML or JavaScript or CSS. Why would you need months to learn to drag and drop, click settings, and etc unless you're doing advanced writing custom script AI or something.

Just an FYI, the Meta courses are not all available to take now. I started the Front-End track, and after completing the first 3 courses, I found out that 4-9 are still in Beta and will be rolled out over the next 6 months. It looks like the same is true for the Back-End track. So if you enroll now, you'll be waiting until September until course 4 is available, and course 9 won't be open until December.

If you want to improve your backend Py skills, learn FastAPI and play with it for a bit. If you want to improve your backend JS skills, learn Node / Express.
Try to get to a point where you are able to create an api, direct to the api route and retrieve some data. The data can be as arbitrary or static as you'd like (you can create a list with quotes and randomly "generate" a quote to send to the user by randomly generating a number within the range of 0 to list length).
