This tells us next to nothing. Software engineering could be viewed, simply, as a vocational skill. What it actually reveals is how much you, yourself, weigh the importance of attending university. University never used to matter so much. One’s usefulness and broad knowledge gained through self-learning is what used to matter most. In other words, educational systems are largely overrated and it wouldn’t have mattered if she obtained a 4-year degree even if it were from a great American educational system.
I looked at the classes needed for a BS in CS and it required 4 classes of actual computer science and the rest was just filler garbage, im studying coding 4hours a day and trying to "master" C++ then diving into bootcamp once im confident
I love this comment! Thank you! I agree, I sometimes see clickbait videos or blogs that mentioned how they became a SWE within x number of months and I feel like it’s not a realistic timeline.
I agree. I clinked on the link thinking, “Really? Another one of these?” But watching this, it sounds like actual relatable experience that sounds true with achievable and perhaps repeatable steps.
I meet disrespectful types all the time. We, literally don't care about the type that calls us feeders of nonsense. Your head is perhaps too slow and numb to open up and listen and learn. In fact. Programming organizes ones brain differently and makes it seriously better.
Having to worry about finance in itself can be overwhelming but learning to code well requires complete focus over extended periods of time. Words don't do justice to the stress and hustle to explain how you got to where you are, I applaud you. 👏👏👏
As a software engineering manager, I appreciate this video for sharing the story of how someone was able to break into the field without a traditional education or experience. It's great to see that there are alternative paths to becoming a software engineer, and that it's possible to succeed through self-study, determination, and hard work. The tips offered in the video are also valuable for anyone looking to enter the field and could be helpful in getting a foot in the door. It's important to remember that while a degree or experience can be beneficial, they are not the only determinants of success in this field.
im sorry to say that they are. I have a one year diploma in CS degree level (prior to this other unrelated diplomas that add up to a 3 years degree but its not CS) and im told quite often I dont have the qualifications required . even though I m learning more by myself . Long story short im doing a master next year and hope I can find a job then.

yea this is a typical how to become a software dev with no experience no education no brain video.. either these stories are fake or they are just very lucky. i have a degree in a comp sci related field, experience in several IT fields, including testing so i already have some programming competencies, on top of that graduated from a full stack technical bootcamp, have a pretty good beginners portfolio...and im about 300 applications in( only programming positions, not including other fields) yet i have not had one interview. these videos are only good for getting views and creating false hope
@@Jake-np1ujyour portfolio so impressive but i think you should ask someone to help you to make a better resume, or you should ask the employer why they did not give you any chance for an interview. Develop your Brand, think like an employer and maximize your resources. This is what she did. And one important thing many employer hired their staff through their network, so you should have more relationship or connection to the people who is working in this field, traditional jobs board are second option for hiring. Hope you will get many interviews and have a good offer soon.
I recently had a set back. After watching this video, I feel stupid for getting upset over one small failure. Thank you for sharing your experience. Your resilience is inspiring.
Hey just wanted to say I’m proud of you for even taking this challenge on! As other comments say do NOT worry we all get stuck at some point and that’s 100% okay :). Here are some of the best resources for anyone in Software Engineering 😊 Google UA-cam and Udemy ChatGPT Stack Overflow DevDocs
When you told your story it felt like you were describing me. I'm going through exactly the same thing as you, being rejected from internships, boring lectures, actually no practice, totally lost and getting a bad GPA in my civil engineering school. I just started my process towards software engineering being self-taught (I don't have the money to invest in courses) and your testimony was comforting, thank you! ❣
I always have the utmost respect for people who dare to try new things and dare to change their career path. It's never an easy choice, much less the courage and effort to learn any IT skills. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science but I'd never, in my entire lifetime, have the balls to change career paths as you did. Hats off to you! Also, while everyone is on their journey to learn something new, it is very common to devalue your worth and knowledge on the said subject. I always carried that imposter syndrome to every Computer Science class I attended. But everyone is different, everyone has different skill sets and knowledge. There is most probably someone in your class that are just as clueless, and maybe your finance background might work to your advantage in the future over other IT students without that finance background (e.g. fintech industry). To everyone that's learning a new skill: Don't be discouraged, dare to ask questions, and try to enjoy what you're learning (: Keep pushing on everyone!
Starting boot camp this week and I’m already sweating 😅 listening to your story. But what’s a beautiful bright future without bumpy roads right. Dropped out of college also and have been debating for a while if I want to take CS classes or boot camp
You should add the time codes to the video description that way they're added to the video itself. Make sure to start at 0:00 - Intro then add the rest.
It’s so crazy your story sounds exactly like my journey, the craziest part is that you are also my namesake , dropped out of uni studying economics, and currently trying to switch my career to a software developer- , so glad I found your video , very detailed and told both the good and bad.
I also have a finance background and in the progress of changing my career to tech. I truly know how you feel. I'm self-taught and trying to apply for a another college degree. I constantly discourage and have imposter syndrome. Your story is truly inspiring. I really respect you and your hard works all paid off. Thank you so so much.
I think you may have just low key changed my life! I'm in my last year of university and for some reason I thought I would always be stuck on the career path I chose for myself when I was just 16, but you just showed and reminded me that this doesn't necessarily have to be the case! Thank you so much and you were so brave!
I have watched a LOT of these types of posts. Frankly, I had very low expectations when I started watching yours. I WAS SO WRONG! You blew me away, not just your story, but also how you told it, your energy, your poise, everything. You are obviously a very self-aware person, comfortable in your own skin, something that most people (of any age) lack. So very glad I found your post!
I felt a lot of shame not completing my degree and seeing how you explained your journey, setbacks and all, and didn’t let it deter you is so inspiring!! I am about to start a free java developer program with Generation USA and wanted to see if there were any successful programmers without cs degrees. Your video was so well explained and had useful tips for the future. thank you!
Before I finished my program, I actually interviewed and got a swe apprenticeship at Google! I’ve been working for a couple of months now and it’s been an amazing whirlwind. ❤
Your video is so useful for everyone! Completing my degree in CS now, but many times college does not teach you how to actually build yourself before entering the job world and narrow down what you're good at. Taking your advice and doing everything I can to learn and apply outside of my classes now.
You are SOOO relatable. I want to switch carer this year - from Microbiologist to some tech position and I clicked in this video already expecting that you were the most smart kid in the class, or you were rich, or that your path to tech was smooth but gosh, you are so relatable and for the first time I can believe that maybe yes, maybe I can be successful in tech too. THANK YOU! So encouraging.
This is very inspiring to see. I'm an English teacher who's currently working on switching careers and I started learning basics of IT first, then moved on to learn Python and hopefully my main goal is to become a software developer. It's very couraging to see someone getting accepted to FANG companies without a degree, even though I can imagine how much effort you put into it. I think a lot of people, including me get discouraged by the fact that we don't have a degree in CS, which causes us to hesitate or doubt ourselves and give up after facing a few rejections. However, the key is to be consistent and it only comes with dedication and patience. So congratulations on your hard earned success and I hope I'll be able to land a job in Europe too! I wish good luck to everyone else taking that journey!
I'm dropping out in my fourth year to focus on Software engineering and start my B.sc over at 21, I'm just happy I finally figured out my career and I hope it all works out well for me, thank you for the video, it'll be my motivation.
@@mariogrenadine i get what they mean though! i’m 21 starting my degree in computer science and it feels old because here in the us most of the people i went to high school with are graduating college while im starting over 😭

Great video, I thought that I was the only one with no degree or academic diploma who made it. I am not a software engineer by the way, I am in the network and security scene. I started as a simple tech support and 8 years later I am the one who handles and manage the network and security infrastructure of a big French company, still no degree lol I realised that experience on your CV does make you stand out from other candidates. L1 tech support -> Network and security admin -> Telecom Engineer -> IT manager. 5 different companies. It was hard work but also required lots of skills that are learned on the job. No Degree can replace that.
Halfway through this video and I have to say, you have really amazing perseverance. I gained a lot of respect for you and your story. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. Currently taking a MOOC course on Javascript. Fingers crossed!
Education is always important when can be afforded but there is nothing better than a person who has goals and is committed to achieve them. So many people in their late 30's just want to have mediocre jobs and are not doing anything about it. Also, I personally admire women who strive to be successful, not career freaks but just know what they want and they are fighting to get it!
You're a good person. You truly inspired me. I graduate from college in Criminal Justice. I knew I didn't want to work in it before graduating. I spent about 5 years visiting in jail a childhood friend of mine, whom also used to live with me prior to his arrest. He got transferred to prison in March 2020. The prison was too far for me to go visit him. Today, I thought about coding and software engineering, and that's what brought me here. I like the fact that I can have a girl explain it to me. You gave me reason to not let a single day go by without accomplishing your life's purpose. You didn't give up easy, that's what I like about you. Just on this past Friday, I got news from a friend who was seeing 100devs Agency working on software development. I don't know what this means about I know that it's something, coming from a kid from Pompano, where I grew up at.
You worked really hard, didn't give up although you had a lot of set backs and also it was quite the risk not having a job, having to pay rent. Wow... You made it gurl! Inspirational story! I'm living in Japan working as a preschool English teacher, I'm trying to crack into the tech scene as a front-end developer. Definitely going to subscribe and take in your advice.
I also dropped out of college because they taught me the most useless things ever. I decided to take matters into my own hand and try to land a land a job as Software Product Designer, took a free Bootcamp like you, and landed an intern job after 2 months in Bootcamp and they hired me full time after 2 months too.. I always kick myself for not finishing my degree, I thought I will never land an offer from Apple or Google without a bachelor's degree. I saw you are currently working at Apple (extremely impressive), which gave me a lot of hope. I love watching videos like this!
Woah you are amazing! Currently doing associates in cybersecurity instead of bachelors! I've been thinking it won't be enough for me to get a job afterward, but hoping to get some entry-level IT and work from there!
I'm a bio major and I hated how it's basically just testing over random facts that you could look up but software at least there is skill involved rather than regurgitating info that you forget later
Really good advice for people who are facing a lot of difficulties in their way to find a job and she teaches how to not get upset when being rejected.
It’s so crazy your story sounds exactly like my journey, the craziest part is that you are also my namesake , dropped out of uni studying economics, and currently trying to switch my career to a software developer- , so glad I found your video , very detailed and told both the good and bad.
This is one of the most genuine and honest videos I have ever seen. The way Valerie described her extraordinary career journey really made it relatable. I am a process engineer and currently started learning how to code in python because it’s so interesting to me. The fact Valerie became a software engineer with her sheer determination and she challenged herself. That’s remarkable. Thank you for sharing. Subscribed :)
You just gave me an inspiration to keep going, I have a CS degree and have been stuck in learning how to code, it has been 3 years and I still don't have a portfolio or focused on one programming language. Thank you for this video
I love your mindset. "What do I have to lose?" Good for you for never giving up and finding different ways to learn about something you wanted to do. I'm probably a decade older than you but I found this video to be very inspirational.
Your story has definitely furthered my motivation in trying to make software engineering a career for myself! I never thought this was something possible for someone like me but hearing how you started out really resonated with me and inspired me to go for it, even with the hurdles to come. Thank you!
Thank you so much for making this video! I have recently quit my job to pursue an education in tech. I majored in a very specific engineering technology degree where I took a few coding classes BUT I still feel very intimidated. Thank you for telling us your story and showing us that it can be done w/o a degree specifically in CS!
My god, what a beautiful story. It seems like you only see people with fancy accolades getting to this point, which really intimidates me and so many more getting into the industry, but you literally threw yourself at your dream by moving to San Fran and starting anew after leaving college. Thank you for giving me so much hope and motivation
I absolutely admire your willingness to share stories of setbacks & rejections. Most people aren't confident enough to do this. Your grit is very admirable!
That was so motivating. I've been a software QA for the past 10 years. I am struggling to become an SDET and still not able to. It's so great to see someone become a software developer.
Right when i was about to give up on learning coding, i saw your video under my recommendations and got back on track. Thank you for this! Everything is possible if you have the right mindset into pursuing and going after what you really want to do in life
I'm fifteen years old and I'm starting to think about my future. And i have been looking at different careers and software engineering seems really interesting and i think it's a career i want to do. I know it won't be easy but i have nothing left to lose and i won't give up. Your story was very inspiring to me and i hope I'm as successful as you❤❤❤❤❤❤
This deserves a subscribed! it gives motivation and hope. I already tried twice enrolling on free bootcamp but didn't make it. And now I'm taking online courses to up-skill. Thank you for sharing your experiences, and helpful sites.
Thank you so much for this video, just got me out of my very pessimistic mindset. I am a mathematician and I know how to code but still find it so hard to find a good job. You reminded me that its a journey and that there is always ways to crack that coding interviews! Thank you!
I'm currently going through a career change it has been many months but I have been upskilling and undertaking courses, I haven't been successful and have not had many interviews. All I can say is that your resilience is absolutely inspiring, 100 jobs a week is nowhere near what I have been applying for. You are intuitive and determined and I will work smarter and harder to find work, Thankyou for this video as I have been feeling really down lately. P.s i have subscribed to your channel, Thankyou 😀
It's very normal to struggle in the beginning, a lot of employers don't really see you as a serious contender, but you have to keep pushing, and keep using each opportunity (no matter how small) as a stepping stone towards your success. And I'm so glad you mentioned "intuitive"! That's something I really rely on and I feel like it's hard to talk about since most people are very logical and so is this industry.
Extremely glad this popped up on my recommendations page, thank you for the insightful video I've learned a lot from this. Would love to see a video regarding your resume progression from starting out to now, tryna see how I can better my resume cuz all i have is projects on there💀
I also dropped out of college yesterday. I am happy I figured it out in the freshmen year that college is not for me ... So here I am starting my journey to become a self taught software engineer
I am a nurse from the bay and I am ready for a change because I know I am undervalued and taken for granted. I have been worried that it may not be a good idea but you are inspiring. Your challenges and overcoming them with 3 offers if inspiring me to push. Thank you for your video!
I'm so jealous! You worked so hard though, I can't be upset. I've been a programmer since I was in high school and went the college route. I landed an entry level job even though I have 7 years of programming experience, 5 of them being my own 'startup', so needless to say you are living out my dream lol. I'm just glad to have my foot in the door now, and hopefully more opportunities will come in the future. I also had a friend who did a BootCamp and landed the same job as me. Those are super great alternatives to college. I'm graduating this spring, and at this point I can safely say that college was just a huge waste of money lol. All in all, your video was very inspiring :)
legend, really boosted my confidence in showing me that it really is possible to get to a point where ur at with no prior experience and cs degree. Really good tips and info as well. I'll come back here one day thanking you when I've landed my first job
This video was exactly what I was looking for and needed it to be. A lot of now-software engineers omit or make little of the degrees they obtained before deciding to change careers but forget that part of the reason they also got employed, especially early on in FAANG companies, is because of the previous degrees they got. Especially finance, law or maths. Some of us either dropped out of college/university or didn't even attend and it can be quite discouraging while watching these kind of videos. Also thank you for showing us your journey and giving some practical tips!
I'm a nurse, but I've always had a passion for coding and software engineering. Your honesty is great and I watched the whole video although I wasn't even looking for this content (thanks algorithm). All of your info was interesting and very much appreciated.
Congrats on your journey! People should work in tech because they get to solve problems/learn for a living and work with a tech stack they believe in (hopefully). There are plenty of local companies that will provide this opportunity. Chasing titles can lead you down a long path and won’t promise a return ;)
Wow so much respect! I’m not looking to be an engineer or do coding but I’m looking to change career paths to something different. I have no experience at all, so even though it’s a different field, your journey is very helpful and inspirational!
i can’t explain how big of an inspiration u are it’s late at night right now and i’m kinda having this grand epiphany after watching this 😭 i’m about to enter my first year of uni and i’ve been so confused as to what i REALLY wanna do. for the past couple of months i’ve been getting into coding and software development in general but lacked the courage and self esteem to do something about it (i guess bc classes i didn’t take in high school). i have so much admiration and respect for u + i’m so happy u made ur dreams come true with nothing short of consistent hard work! thank u for sharing this you’ve definitely touched many :)
I'm not gonna get into my story in the youtube comments, but I relate so much. Very similar journey. It's super hard work that pays off in the end. This video brought a lot of flashbacks. Congrats!
Your video not only helped me, but changed my perspective on the tech field. I’m so used to seeing people in the area starting off as teenagers and having a lot of experience by the time they’re young adults. It’s a little bit upsetting, because I’m a software engineer student now, but it wasn’t my first choice. I changed majors after 2 and a half years and started from scratch. And even though I’m in a field I like better, it’s still, as you said, too theoretical. There’s very little practice and projects to build a portfolio in the major. One of the reasons why I started a bootcamp and have been even contemplating quitting university. Your story, how we both started studying without previous knowledge, and how we need more practice to see result is really something that comforted me. And the fact that you have come so far that is now at a fang company? Girl, you’re awesome. It’s so nice to have people like you as an example in the tech industry. Specially for women. Thank you so much for all the tips, and thank you for sharing your story.
Although I am looking into data analytics as a career, this process and all of the resources you mentioned is super helpful to get an idea of how the tech industry works overall.
Your resilience and persistence in achieving your dream job is incredible! Thanks for sharing your amazing journey! 💗 I’m currently looking for quality engineering roles and this really motivated me.
Thank you so much for this video!! I am a new grad, and I have been fighting with imposter syndrome with landing a job, even after having internships with companies like CDC, MIT, etc. I decided to enroll in my Master's and buckle down on a portfolio and studying technical interviewing. I have the theory down pack, but you highlighting the studying was something I needed to hear. I can't wait to tell my success journey like you!
This is very inspirational to me! I am a teacher of 5 years who's looking for a career changing. A job that challenges me, but is worth the reward at the end. I have always been interested in tech related fields, but never knew which path to take. This videos gives me hope. I'm scared that none of my experience in teaching can apply to anything other than education
I love how driven you are. It’s not always about getting the degree. Sometimes, even though I have my masters, I wish there would’ve been a cheaper way! Student loans suck.
Thanks so much for your testimony I think one of the greatest skills that any human can learn is to "pivot". Tt was scary, it was hard, and I'm sure it was uncertain for you but your dedication to YOURSELF kept you from sinking metaphorically and physically. No one is locked into any job, trade, career it's so so important that we learn not to be so hard on ourselves so early in the career decisions we make. It's NEVER to late to pivot, your health happiness, and well being should always be at the for front, to a business' you're replaceable to yourself you're priceless
Thank you for sharing your story and sharing your struggles. Most people just talk about the positives, but hearing you talk about the hardships to get to where you are now is relatable and reminds me to keep moving forward. 🙏
I am saving this video. I couldn't complete my college education due to severe depression. I took CS classes because I love coding, but some tragic events happened while I was at college. Couldn't complete it as I failed in some subjects. I had some experience in coding as a result I landed a job in a small startup. I am always guilty that I couldn't complete my education because It was my dream to work in a product based company. After all this, I lost all my hope to make it to any product company as I was under the impression that they all require degree. For the last 3 years I am working in the same company without any growth. Well this video gave my some hope to move forward in life. Thank you
This video made me tear up! You worked your ass off, well frkn' done!! Just got as job as a paraeducator but I eventually want to switch to tech, I have been procrastinating due to personal issues and lack of motivation but this got me back on track. Thank you for being realistic about the timeline, true inspo you are. Cheers to more women in tech!! 💕
I've started my frontend engineering career almost a year ago at this point, and I am interviewing at a few different companies atm. The first job is always the hardest but once I get this first job I'm set. I guess that's what's keeping me going through this entire journey.
Good shit. You were raising a lot of red flags with dropping out and then moving to a HCOL area. However you put the work in and it paid off. Loved the hustle. Thanks for sharing.
Great inspiring video :) Living in an expensive city is not easy, especially when you don’t have stable income. The fact that you didn’t give up and keep at it, is quite awesome and deserves a praise 👏🏻
Thank you so much 🥺 it was a struggle and quite stressful, but I grew so much from it. Became really resourceful and learned how to trust that things will work out.
I really respect your hard work and dedication to reaching your goals. I can yell just how passionate you were just by the way you put so much of your time and energy into staying late and asking all the questions. The only advice I would have for viewers is that she would have had a slightly easier time finding a job if she had just finished her B.A. it doesn't matter what it is in. It just matter that you finished one. They like to see it. They prefer a revelent major or minor. You get bonus points if it's from a very prestigious university and extra credit if you graduated with any honors. And a letter of recommendation or a referral from someone never hurts. It's all about who you know and uni is a wonderful opportunity to network. That's it. Don't think I'm throwing shade or unsympathetic. I had the same experience. I was academically dismissed my junior year. I was suffering from trauma, ptsd, depression, and anxiety, because I had a rough childhood and no therapy. I cracked sometime around my 21st bday. Since the dismissal it's been hell trying to find a good paying job, I also live in the sf bay area! It's expensive af. I didn't want to study Psych anymore, I thought I wanted yo study stats and become an actuary since I used to tutor stats. It took years to realize what I want to do. I'm a creative person my favorite work or school experiences always involved design or creativity and I enjoy helping people and making their lives better. I'm doing ux/ui now!

But you are inspiring me that we made it and will ocntinue to make it. Thanks for this!
😂 I'm so encouraged to see people openly sharing their backgrounds. Landing a technical role without a technical degree is a huge accomplishment. It's not necessarily the difficulty of the skills, but the self-doubt that can hold us back. I can personally relate to this experience.

I can say that yes i’m totally down with multiple job hunting, interviews. But your video really inspire me what to do and improve. Sending virtual hug to you 😘
Your perseverance is amazing and I am inspired by you. I'm old (31) and seriously interested in switching from medicine to software engineering. I'm glad you are honest about your struggles. I am scared but excited about the possibilities. I think a coding bootcamp would be a good next step for me but I live in a high cost of living area and worry about losing my salary while I learn and job hunt. Thanks for the tips, esp the mock interviewing tips!!
Great video! I am soon starting my studies on a 2 year education called "Cloud & IT- Infrastructure Engrineer" And this gave me some more motivation. I am also planning on taking a coding course later on after these 2 years. This will be a complete and total change of work as I previously have worked 6 years on a waterproofing company in Sweden.

On a similar path atm! I’m a college student who switched from studying business admin for 2 years to Information technology with 0 prior coding knowledge whatsoever (Note: My grades were VERY bad due to my lack of interest for Business administration, which resulted in furthering my distance from graduating!). After seeing my friends graduate, I felt very discouraged, but I found a solid mental to take my coding journey very seriously but most importantly at my own pace. I’m currently taking a break from school to develop my skills in coding and hoping I can build a path to become a Web Developer! Best of luck to those who are on a similar path or those who want to start their coding journey!
@JK! I am also on the same path! Studied Business Management for 2 years, am now self studying for engineering. I am still taking math and science courses at my local community college for free. Embarking on this to broaden my major change when I do pick up a four-year in the Spring. But heavy on the self-study. Professors have suggested Computer Science because after initial courses, it’s my same route. So I would love to know more about your journey and possibly chat more if you’re open!
You're honestly amazing, so much resilience and grit in you for every step you took and faith you have in the universe making it work out for you! i need to fix this bad trait of mine, im easily stressed out and anxious when something doesn't go my way, and I totally would not have been able to take the risks you took in your journey, so I have so much respect for you, you are amazing!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your decision to create this kind of contents to help people. I've been feeling quite lost recently, as I've come to realize that college isn't the right path for me either. My goal is to secure a job in this field, and figuring out how to do it unconventionally while still finding success has been a major challenge. Your willingness to share your journey from day 1, along with all the detailed resources, has now given me so much inspiration. I'm so glad that you managed to land your dream job despite all the obstacles. This single video has taught me so much, and I'm very grateful. Your work is truly beautiful in guiding others to reach the same heights you have!
"Dismissed from college, becomes software engineer." This pretty much tells us everything we need to know about the American education system.

I love this comment! Thank you! I agree, I sometimes see clickbait videos or blogs that mentioned how they became a SWE within x number of months and I feel like it’s not a realistic timeline.
I respect the honesty of it too. Good stuff!
I agree. I clinked on the link thinking, “Really? Another one of these?” But watching this, it sounds like actual relatable experience that sounds true with achievable and perhaps repeatable steps.
Hi! Would you be interested in a volunteer STEM tutor/teacher position? This position can be done virtually.
Thank you so much for understanding. It was a difficult time and I’m so glad to share overcoming struggles!

And one important thing many employer hired their staff through their network, so you should have more relationship or connection to the people who is working in this field, traditional jobs board are second option for hiring. When you told your story it felt like you were describing me. I'm going through exactly the same thing as you, being rejected from internships, boring lectures, actually no practice, totally lost and getting a bad GPA in my civil engineering school.

I started as a simple tech support and 8 years later I am the one who handles and manage the network and security infrastructure of a big French company, still no degree lol
I realised that experience on your CV does make you stand out from other candidates. L1 tech support -> Network and security admin -> Telecom Engineer -> IT manager. 5 different companies.
It was hard work but also required lots of skills that are learned on the job. No Degree can replace that.

What’s wrong with having a mediocre job? Someone has to do it anyway

Realistic, no sugar coating and relatable! Keep going, girl! :)

Well Done! You made a hard work to achieve your goals! I'm on the same path right now, looking for a job.
You are dropping gems every few seconds!!! Thank you for sharing all of this ❤ 😊 May you be blessed for helping others!
Thanks love 💕
This is the best video out there!
Thanks for being real
This is a great video. I'm currently in this position.
hi, found your video and this is my exact story for my MSP IT career. rejection after rejection, tears and failure, but persevering onto the next opportunity. i just started coding and knowing that ill be going through allof that rejection again is scary and a mental hurdle. But you are inspiring me that we made it and will ocntinue to make it. Thanks for this!
Yes, a lot of rejections. You get used to it and then eventually you’ll succeed!
Just dropped out of university and was stressing about my next move but this is very encouraging
what a journey ! i'm very much touched by your "never give up " spirit !
😂 I'm so encouraged to see people openly sharing their backgrounds. Landing a technical role without a technical degree is a huge accomplishment. It's not necessarily the difficulty of the skills, but the self-doubt that can hold us back. I can personally relate to this experience.
I'm 16 years old and want to practice coding because I want to be a programmer in the future and honestly was confused about what to plan out but this was honestly helpful thanks alot
I'm a mother of 2 and want a career change. I am very interested in coding and and currently in the process of learning. Thank you so much for sharing your valuable advice. God bless you and I wish you all the best in your career.
I love this comment! Thank you! I’m glad to be of service 😊
Hi. I just want to let you know that your video is so inspiring for me. As lost my job as software engineer during the pandemic as it was my first job. I can say that yes i’m totally down with multiple job hunting, interviews. But your video really inspire me what to do and improve. Sending virtual hug to you 😘
💝
Thank you for being so real about your journey!
so inspired from you, girl. Thank you! hopefully someday we can meet in the same company. :)
Yessss, go for your dreams!!!
Medical field is the best way to make decent living.
This is honestly so helpful!!! Your advice is so much more unique then other videos I’ve seen. THANK YOU keep being a babe engineer 👩💻
Wow 😭 thank you for your kind words! I’ll keep making helpful videos! 🌷
Great video! I am soon starting my studies on a 2 year education called "Cloud & IT- Infrastructure Engrineer" And this gave me some more motivation. I am also planning on taking a coding course later on after these 2 years. This will be a complete and total change of work as I previously have worked 6 years on a waterproofing company in Sweden.
glad I found this. I’m a recent college drop out and wanted to get into tech. This gave me some sort of direction
Currently applying for tech roles but have had little success so far. This video has motivated me to keep going! Thank you
Persistence is a key skill in engineering :)
What are the requirements needed pls? I have degree in business administration! How can I get into it? What should I major in? Anyone?
This helps a lot! I have years of work experience in healthcare but now switching to tech!
Love it! Let me know any questions you have :)
@@BABEENGINEER 🥰🥰🥰
You're honestly amazing, so much resilience and grit in you for every step you took and faith you have in the universe making it work out for you! i need to fix this bad trait of mine, im easily stressed out and anxious when something doesn't go my way, and I totally would not have been able to take the risks you took in your journey, so I have so much respect for you, you are amazing!
Thank you so much for your kind words 💕💕
