I split my footage up so stay tuned for a couple more chapters of this first trimester! I took a couple weeks off because the INTENSE nausea, fatigue, and food aversion but I'm slowly feeling like I have more energy!
This journey has been so wild...all of my interests, priorities, and dreams have changed in a blink of an eye. I feel this shift within that's confusing, scary, but beautiful at the same time. This is the beginning of the rest of my life.

I had hyperemesis and was sick my entire first pregnancy and lost 40 pounds. I have empathy for you bc I know how scary and rough that was. I was 26 then. I still have never felt that’s sick in my life to this day. I am 48 and that baby boy is now 21. Then, 16 months later I had a daughter. I wasn’t as sick with her but it was still a hard pregnancy and she is 20. Hang in there!

I’m now 13 weeks pregnant and was totally worn out by nausea that’s been killing me 24 hours over a month, but your positive vibes made me feel good and positive☺️
I’m Japanese, so.. let’s enjoy pregnancy in Japan together🧡

I love what you said about “growing a new version of yourself”. It’s so true. I have learned so much from having my son. He’s 2 1/2 now, but I’m still learning and growing along with him everyday. Congratulations on your pregnancy! I had bad nausea too.. mine got better in the second trimester. Hope yours does too!!! ❤️

I am currently 23 weeks and 2 days pregnant and all the things you go through remind me of my first trimester. But believe me at least nausea and the headaches are going to get better soon.
    Enjoy your pregnancy! ❤

Congrats Kelly to you and Ryuji on being parents soon! It is interesting to see what it is like as a foreign woman in Japan being pregnant abroad. I hope it goes well & I’m just praying good health for the baby and for you as well on this new journey.

Congratulations Kelly!! Those first few months are horrible but i see you keeping up with it. You go girl! So glad your husband is so supportive and doing everything he could to keep you comfortable. Hopefully you can ask your doctor for diclegis soon. It really helped me during my morning sickness and eating plain crackers (im 37weeks and had horrible evening sickness just like you) It isn't subside until wk 16-17 so hopefully you're there now into the 2nd trimester and can finally enjoy some food :)

I was the same, Kelly, with the nausea. At about week 16 is when you should experience a complete change to no nausea. Mine was like a faucet being turned off. Up until week 16 I was in and out of the hospital for dehydration and malnutrition. I actually lost weight during pregnancy instead of gaining. Then when week 16 hit, I could eat again. I hope it has or will be the same for you. Maybe I should get pregnant again so I can avoid all the things I shouldn't eat. If only...

For me, I found that nibbling on something small when I first woke up really took the edge off the morning sickness. If I woke up and didn't eat, or ate too much, I'd be sick for sure. My go-to morning snacks in the first trimester were beef jerky, assorted nuts, and plain crackers. I was really lucky, when the placenta took over around 11-12 weeks, I wasn't sick anymore at all. 7-11 weeks was the hardest for sure.
Hang in there! You look radiant, even while nauseous!

Hope you start to feel a bit better soon. When in doubt over the pain you feel i would call your doctor's just to reassure you. I had the same and for me it was just your uteris growing that gave that feeling/pain, but i think I called my doctor's a hundred times with questions like this.
For me, though I wish we had so much information given to you, seeing the amount of money it costs is mindboogling. In the Netherlands, when you have a Dutch health insurance (and basically everyone is required to have that by law) everything is covered, from the routine visits to giving birth and the nurse you have for 5 to 10 days after at your house.

Hi Kelly, I have three children and was very naseaous in every pregnancy. What helped me a lot was lemon Juice. I aways carried a bottle of lemon juice or lemon slices with me and took it right when nausea hit me. Maybe give it a try?

My prenatal vitamins with iron made me sick with my first baby. I had to get different vitamins without iron and just add iron rich foods to my diet.

I remember my mother in law making a chicken curry for dinner for my husband and I…I sat down at the table and just looked at my bowl, I started crying and ran away. Turns out my worst food aversion was chicken 😂 and for a good 2 weeks all I could eat was burgers. Safe to say I haven’t eaten the same burger again ever since and my son is now almost 15 months. I really don’t think I will ever eat that burger ever again
