Clint That was Kylo Ren taking his anger out, not a military strategy
They eliminated the remaining starfighters and killed all but a few of their leaders, any more fighters would be useless.
Evolved Turtle Productions Not necessarily, you see how much damage 3 fighters did, but why stop there? They're sitting there waiting for them to get within range when they could've deployed fighters for constant harassment.
It's not like the First Order needs fuel either, they look to be mighty rich and willing to wait it out. Could've just ended by deploying all fighters.
Which brings me to the next point, why are the fighters so powerful -.-
You don't see rebel starfighters one shotting Imperial bridges in OT unless they ram them.
Clint What else could the fighters have done? They blew out most of the exterior of the Raddus. Sure they could have destroyed a few more outward facing rooms and whatnot but the fleet was already gone and there wasn’t really anything else to do.
Has anyone noticed like a hum or siren that it made when it leaped out of hyperspace? The dreadnaught in the beginning did that too and I thought it made both of these ships 10x more ominous and menacing
Idc if it was a hum,or alarm....

Stupid design. Who needs such a monster ship. It is so vulnerablez
@@hengloh4684 you know what's vulnerable? A planetary base which can't go anywhere. A death star or dreadnought could wipe it out. But the supremacy can escape.
The supremacy can be a base of operations anywhere in the galaxy. You don't have to fight a war in which reinforcements take a day to arrive from the other side of the galaxy.
@@astroknight5 I think you forgot that the Death Star can actually jump to different systems around the galaxy, like how it jumped from hyperspace at the Battle of Scarif in Rogue One
For a little over 3 minutes of screen time, this was a super menacing ship. Even when it wasn’t on screen, I had that sinking feeling that this ship was always there, ready to attack and just looming over the resistance. Also, I love the audio when it comes out of hyperspace (as well as the dreadnaught, very similar sound design).
I got into a debate with someone online who said that this movie had no stakes and Hoth was a far more desperate situation. Hoth, to me, always felt like a well organised retreat as they got ships away before the Empire even landed fully. Here and the "no one is coming" on the surface really felt far more desperate until Luke turns up followed by Rey (the fact the entire Resistance can fit into one tramp freighter shows how close the FO gets).
@@Badartist888 I agree, unfortunately all the crappy jokes and time wasted on casino planet kinda subverted the dark tone. Hell this film on paper is the darkest film outside of revenge of the sith, they just destroyed their tone.

First order officer:Sir, the resistance ship shield is taking a Lot of damage! What do we do?
Hux: GO ON!!
Me: MAYBE TRY TO FIRE WITH MORE THAN JUST TWO CANNONS!!!
Grand Admiral Thrawn resistance would be long time dead if you were in place of Husk.
Do you want to do this the EFFICIENT way or the EVIL way ?
Like Palpantine before him at the battle of Endor, Hux chose the Evil way and got his ass kicked
Same thing can be said for the battles of Scarif, Yavin, Endor, and most battles in Rebels. The Rebels would've been annihilated if the Imperials fired more than 2 or 3 cannons from each ship.
Myabe that's all the weapons the Supremacy has. I mean it's a mobile command base/ship yard, so maybe it doesn't have enough room/power to have a super amount of turbolasers.
Jurassic Park III Velociraptor I tell you it has LOTS. The reason it’s firing only two is maybe because the others are out of range.

For all that most of the sequels were a mess, the Supremacy is a really cool ship. Even if they used it poorly in the movie the ship itself and the concept of it is awesome to me, it's become my favourite Star Wars ship, even above the Executor. Also the fact that the flying wing design was so unique, especially for a capital ship.
Funfact: Supremacy is more like a Flying Mobile Base:
It can create weapons and mass produce any Vehicle, and had all the Base Concepts.....(Cloning Facility maybe missing to perfection)......

Say what you will about the artillery style weapons, the ship still has a fantastic presence.
Especially the scene 1:51
Arguably more presence than the Executor had.
Definitely. The scenes with the ship were amazing. Also I don't see why the lasers having an arc is a real problem. It works the same way so why should it matter whether it travels straight or in an arc? I'm a critic of plenty of things in this movie but the arc laser blasts is perfectly fine, and there's no reason to hate it just because it "scientifically" doesn't make sense. I mean we have sound in space for crying out loud
Meh...I'd still say the Executor had more 'presence' simply because it was Vader's ship in Episode V and he was a FAR more developed villain than Snoke was at the time. Early in the film when he's inspecting the Imperial fleet and the Executor is casting its shadow over the other star destroyers, it is very suggestive of the dark side. The Supremacy plays on that when it overshadows the Resurgents during its first appearance, but it is still borrowing the whole concept from Vader's Executor.
That's the thing, this movie has really cool stuff in but the plot ruins it. Rian is good at directing things but all the problems are plot. Like it's fine to have nonstandard things in the movie but the most satisfying part of the film, when Luke is an aparition, is ruined because he dies. If the movie was about getting Luke back on side then it might've been received better. And I just leave disappointed because the replacement characters aren't that interesting. Also you'd think they'd keep Luke alive seeing as Carrie died and they had plans for Carrie to do stuff.
The main issue with these movies is how fucking depressing it is. Han regressed into a smuggler, Leia is depressed and basically powerless, Luke is depressed (which, again, would be fine if everyone else wasn't depressed and Luke didn't die). I don't feel invested in the new "leads" at all. So much stupid humour thrown in, like Finn walking around the ship when he woke etc. They don't even develope him at all, no mutany among the first order. The fact they make the movie into Empire vs Rebels again. It's ridiculous waste of talent and creativity because I loved how he films all the scenes.
xxTheTruMan196 - Herobrine Exposing & Comedy
Also, in ESB, the TIE Bombers were able to drop bombs onto asteroids, which do not produce their own gravity.
Speaking of which, it's strange how you can just walk out of the Millenium Falcon onto the belly of an Exogorth (space slug) without zero gravity, having your body freeze due to extreme temps, or exploding from the inside-out because of the air pressure in your body.
Despite what you may think of this film, one thing is for curtain,
It looks absolutely gorgeous!!
One thing is for *curtain?*
I really liked TLJ. some people might hate this and that but its essence was of a typical SW movie. awesome effects, huge battles, some mystical jedi stuff... and I got to see my First Order in action so that's a win. lets see what they will bring to us on EP IX.

Pastel Nuclear your first order or my first order?
Once, Snoke was asked "what is it like to fly on the best ship of the galaxy?" He replied: “I don’t know, I’ve never been on the resistance cruiser garbage truck”
You gotta give SW8 credit for giving a ship a functional shield for like the first time.
The famous mon calamari shields
There is only 1 other scene in the entire SW where ships had working shields - battle of
Coruscant in E3. The is a very short scene in wich several ships are firing at a Lucrahawk and you can see its blue shield taking the damage instead of the hall. In every other scene in SW ship shields are just a joke.
@@mowtow90 One thing I liked about The Last Jedi was how it built upon space combat. Sure the strategy was a bit stupid but it actually shows some of the ins and outs of space combat which I liked.

Well it’s kinda possible during the
Battle of Coruscant seperatist ships coming out of hyperspace sometimes hit an unlucky
Venator class Star Destroyer that got in its way
That was the most awesome moment in space we have seen in Star Wars, ever!
dragonstormx Um no it's not, it goes against the universe rules of Star Wars.
If you could do that, anyone could just hyperspace through their enemies.
Luke and the rebels could have just automated a ship to hyperspace through the death star.
No they could and let me explain why;
1: It worked here because it was done with a very big ship, bigger than anything the Rebel Alliance had in the original trilogy. A ship the Rebels could not afford to lose given how hard ships were to come by for them.
2. We saw one of the Rebel ships accelerate to hyperspace in Rogue One. It rammed into Darth Vader's Star Destroyer and exploded while failing to scratch it. That showed that such a move only guarantees the loss of your ship and has no guarantee it will actually destroy the enemy ship.
3. With the first Death Star all the Rebels had on hand were a bunch of small fighters. They lost their biggest ship and if a jump to hyperspace running into a Star Destroyer would work, how do you expect one of the few surviving ships in the Rebel fleet, if any of them could have actually made it, to have worked against the Death Star.
4. Holdo only got the ship into position because the First Order didn't realize what she was doing until it was too late. If you keep using a trick like that then your enemy will get wise to it, something an episode of Star Wars: Rebels brought up.
That monster of a starship is not just a gigantic spaceship that serves the First Order. It is their flagship vessel and serves as a warship, headquarters, home, palace and city in space. The Supremacy is seriously underrated.
It's a cool-looking ship, but a pretty silly idea. A moving capital would be super inconvenient, and deploying it on the frontlines is pretty braindead. Still a shame that it was so useless in the end.
@@Ruzzky_Bly4t it's not braindead if the one who commands it isn't braindead and the plot is not also a braindead too!
@@Ruzzky_Bly4tWouldn't a mobile capital be more convenient?
@@neutralino1905 How so? Constantly changing paths to get to and from the capital + it's a giant space ship which would draw all the attention if it were spotted. The costs to construct this thing would be so astronomical, you're better off building a navy instead. It's very vulnerable as we saw, and because it always moves, you need signals coming to and from it for every little ship, which could be tracked. Maintaining that thing requires a workforce the size of a city. It's also completely isolated from everything. A capital planet will have water, air, minable resources and a ton of area. This thing was designed for the rule of cool, not any realism. If it would annihilate most of the rebel fleet on a multi-week battle where ships would get repaired and restocked inside the capital, while it's persuing the enemy, that would be epic. But you can't make it look cool when it gets demolished by a ship 0.1x its size almost instantly. Disney just failed on that one.
@@Ruzzky_Bly4tyou don’t always need to move it. The Death Star and Starkiller pretty much served the same role. Just because it’s a ship doesn’t mean it needs to move constantly. Plus it’s a lot more convenient to be able to escape rather than being on a planet.

I mean it's a command ship, AND a shipyard rolled into one with the capacity to poop out a ship roughly 3,000 meters from scratch, plus it's a research station, training facility.. you see where i'm going? Not a lot of room left for weapons, but that's what I say to justify it any ways.
Mahbu Cough The Executor Cough
God, I loved the Executor. . but it only ever fires, like, two guns at a time.
That seems like a very weak argument.
Having all that stuff doesn't mean it isn't heavily armed. Besides, as our peer reminds us, the Executor super star destroyer. . according to various sources, has roughly 5,000 turbolasers.
Yet we barely see anything.
I shouldn't ram raddus at hyperspeed into Supremacy
*DEW IT*
* *Rams raddus at hyperspeed into Supremacy* *
Hold me beer and watch this
Dewit returns this December...
I just don’t understand why won’t they invent a missile/suicide craft that can hyper speed it self into a star destroyer or any ship.
And in case of battle droids, why won’t they use one of their munificent frigates to cause major damage, using the same tactic. Surely 1 Munificent costs less than 1 or more Republic ships.
Stratowind So if that’s not a small ship in this video. Then imagine what a bigger ship could do to a shield less Death Star.
Stratowind I mean in an equal war, such as the CIS vs the Clones. I think if CIS used some of its munificent class frigates to destroy the Venators they would’ve inflicted much heavier casualties on the Republic navy. And would still be losing much less money than the Republic.
In many battles shown in the clone wars, such tactics might have worked and even resulted in the deaths of many Jedi.
Thanks for this,it looks so fine without whining & force humour . Just pure space, love it.
As disappointing as TLJ was to most of us Star Wars fans, you gotta admit the Mega Star Destroyer had us dropping our jaws to the floor when we saw it
However I, and I'm sure the rest of us, wish we could have seen more of it instead of killing it off too soon.. :/
otaddiction One, I’m a Star Wars fan who very much enjoyed this movie, glad that it took away the OT character safety blanket for all the old fans, and Two the Supremacy is not destroyed. It’s crippled but not destroyed. It still launched an entire ground invasion, which proves it has functional capabilities
First Galactic Empire
Excellent, I'd really like to see more of it in the future films lol
Same problem as Starkiller Base in TFA. They slowly got rid of the FO with each movie lol.
@@firstgalacticempire8928 Bruh, ship was cut in half. It was destroyed. And what safety blanket? Leia survived being spaced xD. Luke meanwhile was mixed with horseshit.
@@ReichLife ikr they turned Luke into a miserable fuckin hobo that wasn't even man enough to get up off his sorry as s and face kylo for real, then he fell over dead because he thought to hard lmao. What they did to Luke was beyond unforgivable.
The Slow Destroyer
Gotta admit they nailed one thing with TLJ
Sound effects and visual effects
I was hoping for a video like this, thank you man! And I also hoped the movie to have more of the mega star destroyer scenes, like inside :s
The Supremacy is one badass ship
Sean Kratovil-Lavelle the most badass dorito I've ever seen
Too bad it got destroyed in the movie I would’ve loved to see it in Episode 9
@Verynn woooosh
Vfx: amazing
Sfx: amazing
Ships: amazing
Ship battle: ☹️
what force awakens improved to the point of perfection was the lightsabers: feeling energic and almost alive etc. what this movie nailed was the ships and their effects, that scene with the dreadnought jumping out of hyperspace made me go ımmh baby
An incredibly accurate analysis, while both films had their shortcomings these things stood out
2:14 EkhartsLadder Does it annoy you that there is a exposed bridge on the Supremacy?
Wow... Seriously?
Resurgent Class Battlecruisers had there bridges improved and backup bridges because of what happened at Endor. There is no doubt that the Supremacy and all other ships in the FO navy has the same thing.
Just A Random Bored Guy That Has A UA-cam Account but the supremacy bridge is just sticking up like imperial star destroyers super obvious and exposed
Take a look at the bridge placement of the Executor and Star destroyers in general (Imperator, Venator, Acclamator)
TheMatrixGamer look at the resurgent class star destroyer. That’s a First Order ship. Look at how discrete and well protected the bridge is. They have 2 bridges for gosh sake, and an extra buried deep inside the ship Incase something happened to the other 2. Now compare that to the “hey I’m right here” bridge on the supremacy (another first order ship)
"Ren, the Resistance has pulled out of range, we can't cover you at this distance !"
You're in a space ship. Just decrease distance to target ffs.
Anyone else noticed the silliness of the animated plan @ 0:52 where they even make a cartoony swoosh sound when the little Raddus hypers out? 😂😂😂
I like to imagine Snoke foresaw the Ben Swolo meme and thought, “If the fans like wide nowadays, WE GIVE THEM WIIIIDE!!!”
I don’t care if the light speed attack was inconsistent to lore, because that scene was dope with the bullet sound at the end!
You're gonna need this Eckharts. *Gives Shield of Fair Use, capable of protecting even the heaviest of copyright strikes*
Protect thyself...
This didn't age well...
2:40
And then, the entire theater went silent.
It gave me goosebumps that scene
I sat in absolute shock at that moment! It was so unexpectedly beautiful!
Thank you for your input Timo
Too bad it doesn't make any sense.
@JaXonzz Rule of Cool my dude, as long as it's hella fuckin' balls-to-the-walls awesome it doesn't need to make sense
2:37 when you're supposed to play with your friends but you forget it's all a game and you go to far just to win.
Hopefully they reattach that wing and get the ship working again in the next film. But what I really want to see is the Eclipse, even in the current continuity there is an Eclipse SSD we just don't know if it's an Executor model or the Legends version.
If you go into the books, the supremacy was too badly damaged to be repaired, it was then scuttled.
YOHGURT SAYS OOF
its a fake
YOGURT, YOGURT, I HATE YOGURT, even with strawberries.
da fu*k?
This whole scene is enhanced if you play "Blood Upon the Risers" whilst Holdo kamikazes the Raddus.
jakes punchwood well no shit
0:00: the star destroyers: ready to get destroyed
Restaincen: you sure
Yep I am sure
Snokes ship: so who's the buster I planned to beat up
anyone else confused how energy shot are curving in space, when space has no gravity
Homing? Maybe the turrets can only go down to a certain angle, so to compensate for that the missiles are locked in and curve towards its target
obviously, they are using trebuchet like gungans
@@g4m3st3p6 or maybe it’s the gravity coming from huge ships and the different gravity influencing devices in them
But honestly you could be right as well
@@lovelyirvine5213 but that wouldn’t cause them to drop farther out from the ship
@@g4m3st3p6 you are right about that
This going to take of higher level thinking 🤔
3:04 so the bridge is between a mix of resurgent class battlecruisers and mandator 4 dreadnaught?
The sound design is so satisfying. Like for real, I could listen to coming-out-of-hyperspace-sounds for hours
I would love to see those missed arcing shots making a full circle and hitting the Mega Star Destroyer.
Star killer base fires a giant red energy boomerang and is destroyed when it misses and hits itself
0:17 gravity.....in space...
Science...FICTION.
Guided....... missles.....
0:03 The sound that Supremacy makes is really scary.
I’ve just realised how much I love this ship and I’m sad to see it go.
Those shield sound effects are gorgeous
Dammit Jim the alien ship has lazers not phasers..😂😂😂 fire photon torpedoes Checkov.😂
Those 10 seconds of silence was so much longer in theaters.
I mean... what’s the point of the Star Destroyers being there when Snokes Flagship just does everything
Look scary?
Increase overall fighter support?
@@vts0361 They didn't even use them.
Colbat Productions True..
Well I mean.... look what happened to the death star not having an escort fleet
the sounds of the big green lasers hiting the shield is glorious
I am a bit confused as to why the empire did not add a super laser on such massive star destroyer. With the size of such ship, I bet it had more than enough power to be armed with a super laser that is capable of blasting a chunk of a planet and do more damage than what the eclipse star destroyer is capable of...
Funny thing you mention the eclipse. That in legends is a. SSD that has a a super laser capable of destroying a core of a planet which would render a planet lifeless.
The destruction of big Ships Breaks my heart
That is the biggest Star Destroyer I’ve ever seen , Even though I’ve never watched The Last Jedi movie around that time but with this ship right here , Its Massive.
2:37 *Omae wa mou shindeiru*
*N A N I?*
I love all of these scenes
SnAkEy SnAkE that’s not allowed this is the worst movie ever made /s
cpeter4321 in your opinion, my opinion is that it's alright had some good scenes
SnAkEy SnAkE I was being sarcastic it’s a good movie
cpeter4321 ahhh
Love the sound design of Ren’s tie in this scene. The howling instead of the screaming really makes it feel like it’s actually there.
2:37-2:53
I was incredibly lucky to watch this scene in IMAX 3D. Absolutely breathtaking.
A Yuzhan Vong Worldship vs The Supremacy
Yuzhan Vong would crush it.
Just A Random Bored Guy That Has A UA-cam Account
Unless the Supremacy rams it.
TheTypicalPatriot like they did with the Lusankya?
Jaelun Scott that would be interesting, I want to see that sdsd in a movie
The Eclipse vs The Supremacy?
the noise it made during the big booom is ZEWMMM
I was watching the last jedi with my family, and at 2:40 no one in the theater said anything, but my dad said: "Nice!" and my whole family laughed.
