This video and a lot of the videos on this channel are unsuitable for children (even when children's content is tackled because I often tackle the topic in an adult context such as for the purposes of analysis, parody and satire). Just because my videos may look appealing to children it doesn't mean they are, and under 13s should not be allowed to use UA-cam or watch this video or have a UA-cam account in the first place.

I can't believe I have to say this but please don't shill any future Doctor Who releases in this comment section. I usually know about these things around the time they are announced and I have either pre ordered them (such as future animation projects) or I have no interest in owning them what so ever (such as the Blu Ray sets or really any future special editions). Cheers.
Also if you fancy commenting about the modern series several people have beat you to it and I have already given pretty much the same response to each one.
Additional also the collection was complete at the time I recorded and posted this video (Uploaded May 2021, Recorded April 2021) so future animations will come up in the following years and this video will become dated. It is complete in the sense that I own a physical copy of every story from the classic era and some additional material (Official releases and a few Loose Cannon recons burnt onto DVD for the missing stories that have yet to receive the animation treatment).

Horror of fang rock was originally intended to be an episode called "The vampire lords" but they scrapped the idea
Lovely collection! There are reversible covers to a lot of them that remove the newer “purple” BBC logo and the spines match a bit better. Also, I know The Enemy of the World and The Web of Fear also have reversible covers 👍🏻
Yes I know they are reversible, personally I don't bother using them because there never going to look perfect anyway, plus it doesn't really bother me that much. Some came out before 2 Entertain was formed (before BBC and VCI merged) and some have a black 2 Entertain logo. I only use them on the most recent releases because they use a completely different design.
Found this absolutely brilliant, relly emjoyed the way you did it and it ia an amazing collection. Some stories I had forgotten about, some it was great to see again. I think at one point in my life I might have tried to go for a full set - I think I got about 20 DVD's in before I gave up 😂 - as it is easily one of my favourite shows of all time. Hats off to you my friend, fantatstic stuff 😁👍🐻
Cheers, it took around 5 years to complete but it was worth it. I think the Blu Ray sets are better value (even though the image quality is only slightly better because they were upscaled) and save space but if you have already started a DVD collection there is no point stopping it to focus on the Blu Rays.
I know you've said new who doesn't really appeal to you much, but for me personally, I find the whole of Doctor Who one massive collection. (The only periods I really dislike is the end of the 4th doctor's era and the current Jodie era, and either the 2nd or the 3rd Doctor's being my favorite). So for the past few months, ive started burning individual modern episodes onto individual discs and put them onto a classic style cover, but a fanmade design, like with Christophers and cyberdevil Dvd covers. Do I really need to do it? Not really. But I think it'll be fun to have my own personal massive collection all in one cover format.
With rewatching this in 2024, I still regard this as one of the best DW DVD collections out there on UA-cam, I’ve almost completed my own collection, and hope to do my own collection video on it one day.
PS: If you ever wondered why I sort of just vanished from the discord, was due to anxiety and kind of felt too embarrassed to explain myself for a while.

Not sure how interested you are in picking it up but the Special Edition of The Power of the Daleks is currently only £3.99 on Amazon for some reason.

How much time would it take me to collect all dvds if I buy 3 to 4 per month? I'm poor have little money. I better buy the stories I want to watch. Series 12 and 13 I love to buy first.
I would say around 4 to 5 (maybe 6) years if your going by the DVD releases because they brought out individual serials as appose to seasons. A lot of them come in box sets so it might make the process quicker. I made a spreadsheet (link in the pinned comment) which should hopefully help you catalogue the ones you have (you can change the colour scheme and design at will).
The Blu Ray sets come in seasons so it might be easier to collect them if they reissue anymore in none special edition packages and if you pre order them as they come out (and don't mind the subpar picture quality due to the way the show was produced and not all the seasons are out yet, including all black and white seasons).

Now that the Dr who collection blu rays are out you can now sell all those dvds and get the definitive versions to have more shelf space
No, it took 5 years to complete that lot and besides I was never interested in the Blu Ray sets because there all upscales.
P.S. My collection was just over half way done by the time season 12 came out but I was still buying the DVD versions of stories that had already been released on Blu Ray by that point so in other words I have no (nor ever had) intentions what so ever of selling my DVD collection and starting fresh with the Blu Rays (Plus I'm not an eccentric millionaire).
@@DVDandFilmBloke having an entire DVD set of each individual story like you have right here is so cool I want one like this. I wish in the US the cases had the same artwork as in Europe.
@@noahbrie9785 In most cases the US artwork is the same as the UK artwork only uncropped so I would say I prefer the US art. Also yeah it's unfair on those living in the US because a lot of them are out of print (or available as burn on demand titles) and a lot of them are like $15 to $20 (£10-£15) new where as a lot of the ones here sell for around £5 to £10 ($6-$13, of course they can be up to £15 if brand new) and some of the box sets (I don't mean the season sets I mean stuff like Key to Time and The Beginning) can work out better value (plus they are all still in print).
@@DVDandFilmBloke I bought the beginning collection but honestly I kinda wanna collect region 2 for the cheap prices and I like how the cases look better. Would it be worth it to import or should I just stick with region 1?
@@noahbrie9785 If you have a multi region player then there's nothing stopping you as long as you can take the waiting period (even import fees are far more reasonably priced then the US titles). There are somethings on the UK discs that aren't on the US discs, for example a Beatles song was cut out of The Chase on the US version but the UK version is uncut, like wise there is a bonus feature missing from the US version of Planet of Fire, also (I've never seen the show in NTSC) I think it's better to watch it in it's original PAL format because it was originally recorded on PAL videotape back in the day rather then converted to NTSC.
One thing I would like to add is a fairly big chunk of stories come in box sets usually based around a certain theme so you will have to look into which are sold separately and which are in box sets (trust me there are far better resources out there). I don't do unboxing videos. My collection updates are the closest thing to that (and even then I have already unsealed the items and possibly watched them). There are other people who do unboxing videos on the collection sets.
Also because my Doctor Who collection is complete (well until they bring out anymore) I have resumed on my main collection (plus it's very rare for me to double dip).

Haha... 7 DvD's in... I think its a little more expensive for me .. because im living in germany.. And the german Vocie Over sucks balls.. Thank god that i can understand and speak and write English.. whats scary is that im way better at English than German o,O
Well the UK DVDs will work on a German system since both are Region 2 PAL. The UK DVDs only have the original English soundtracks and English subtitles only.

@@dr.richardtrager9323 Good luck with that, it took me 5 years to complete my collection with tons of off periods (Late 2017-Early 2020 was a dead period for the collection).
