Hi Deborah. I am a healthy, vibrant 63 year old woman. I started skating just two years ago. Your videos have helped more than any paid lessons would have. I can now skate backwards and cross over thanks to your videos. Just yesterday, at the rink, a young lady came over to me and said, "Lady, you can skate!" lol. Thanks again :)
From the creator of the "snack area" and "fun zone" now comes "beams of light" 😂 It really helps to learn because I always remember those when skating.
Dirty, I sincerely thank you for showing me how to skate properly. Oh, if you tube were back in the 70’s I would’ve been hell on wheels. 57 in 2 months. I can skate, learned at 56. swim, learned at 50. and ride a freakin bike, learned at 45. How awesome. I learned it all from You Tube University Professors. I can’t thank you enough!
Wows! I'm 42. I am on your same journey. It's so much I'm now learning now that my daughter is off at college, I've been learning EVERYTHING I ever wanted to do. I thought I was too old to try now but I honestly feel more fearless and have been accomplishing quite a bit! skating and swimming is up for me now! This was inspiring to read, TY🥰
I'm also 57, haven't skated since high school. I was really good in the late '70's and early '80's, but oh my, I my feet don't remember. Starting all over, thanks to DD. I bought skates, they were spendy, but not right. Watch DD's videos on skates. I just bought a pair of Sure Grip Boardwalks and indoor wheels. Thank you DD. :)
It took me bout the last 2 months with what little practice but I finally got my left turn backwards back again!! But c me and ms. Deb gonna race and shes gonna skate backwards and im gonna skate forwards and we only gonna race like that.
Hahaa she probly gonna beat me then ill be beat by a girl skain backwards and all my friends and all the stagehands I used to work with be laughin at me
Me too! Today is my first day and I got some of the balance down. But I dont have knee and shoulder pads yet so I guess I'm a little bit nervous about falling. Thanks dirty Deb!!😌❤
I went outside for my very first skate session EVER today and I took you with me. I kept my snack area tight, my fun zone low, I shifted my weight from side to side, and it was AWESOME. I mean, I was crappy obviously, but it was awesome. Thank you so much!!! These tutorials are amazing and you are delightful.
Dirty, got question, im a very seasoned shredder all my life, roller derby referee. Is it your rink ? Im tryin all i got to open one myself. Any recomendations on how you did yours? I have many connections in skate world. Im looking at 55x100. How to and what. I like both floors but cost iz a factor
Oh my god, I just found your channel from contemplating learning to skate and your pep and kindness are just making me cry here. I am 38 years old, out of shape and very overweight but you are motivating me in just the right way to try my courage and go for it. Thank you so much. You are going to be my go to channel from now on. Much love.
Totally guilty of just running into things to stop now that I’ve gotten back on skates after 15ish years. I have no recollection of how to stop correctly.
I love that she doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her. She’s there. She’s skating. She’s having fun, and trying to bring everyone along. I love her evergy
I took up roller skating when I was 8, and for the first two years I skated like a bulldog on wheels. And then a friend said, “Jené, you skate like a boy.” So I worked on becoming a more graceful skater after that, and it turned out to be the best “advice” I ever got as a skater. I was really able to expand on what I could do on skates. Balance is a beginner essential.
Dirty is without a doubt the most entertaining instructor I've ever seen. She's also takes a significant amount of time BUT is very thorough with why we do things a certain way and how to do them. Even though she doesn't sound super professional like how some people want it, she's an excellent instructor to learn from. I appreciate this greatly as an ice skater with no experience quad skating.
This was fantastic. Im in RI 54 years old and just bought my first pair of skates to start over. I loved roller skating as a kid and im excited to learn it new. AND maybe- learn to turn and skate backwards. I could never do this!!!
Seriously she is the best teacher ever!!!! I would go to her classes if I didn't live thousands of miles away in Ireland. Thank you so much!!!!! Skates arriving today or tomorrow... Here we go, skates and your videos in one hand!! Thank you!!
Thank you so much! My boyfriend bought me a pair of skates for my birthday, and I've been trying to skate for about a month now. After watching this video, I can finally move without holding onto something and my legs aren't doing the splits when I skate! It's not much, but it's improvement and I'm looking forward to getting better a little bit at a time
I'm sure you have by now but believe me, you will both improve! I suggest keeping track of your progress so you can see the improvement if that bothers you, that way you know all the time has paid off
Hi Deborah. I started skating almost 2 years ago, and I learned from this playlist. I remember at first I couldn’t even get up the floor, and now I can’t even believe all the things that I can do. You explain everything so perfectly 🤗. I never thought I’d be where I am now. Honestly, thank you so much. I wish nothing but the best for you.
Thank you so much, this gave me confidence to try and try. I just bought a pair today and laid flat on my butt many times. I have non stop been watching videos now.
I'm 62 and have been wanting to learn how to skate for the longest time. I'm so glad I found your video tutorial! Gonna purchase me a pair of skates and get out and practice.
I was skating outside just learning and hit a rock, well I fell flat on my chest, had all my safety stuff on. Thank God, but I did hurt my chest and shoulder. I said I wasn’t gonna try anymore but even the doctor and X-ray technician said don’t you stop keep it up. So I am after I get to feeling better. I’m 73 and haven’t skating in years. But I’m still watching your videos and LOVE them. Gonna keep watching and keep skating. I don’t give up easy. Love you Dirty
Thank you for your videos! 45 here with many snacks in the snack section and many years away from the rink. You're helping me ditch the walker and get the right skates and adjustments. 🤩
Thank you for sharing this. It's been 43 years since I last skated. I'm now 71 and next week I'm taking my 19 year old granddaughter roller skating.. Skating buddy a must at first but not for long I will be out there skating like I use to.. I hope anyway.. lol wish me luck... 😊
I’m a school teacher myself and you are an INCREDIBLE teacher! Today is day one for me and I did so well remembering everything you went over. Thank you!
Omg!!! Thank you so much!! I used to be so good at skating as a kid and now my "high beams" are a lot brighter now and I thought it was throwing off my center of gravity. All I forgot about was my knees and NOT looking down but ahead. I did what you said and I was skating like I never missed a beat. 🙌🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾
I have started skating only 3 weeks ago I've only fallen once which I'm pretty proud of your videos have helped me alot thank you so so much (I'm only young and this was alot of help)
After nearly 30min, I finally managed to COMMIT! it ain't clean, but its something! Also I'm 38 years old and never roller skated a day in my life. Thank you for giving me hope!
Hi Deborah My AMAZING wife just had a birthday and wanted a pair of roller skates, so being the great husband I am 🙃, I purchased her a pair with all the pads and helmet needed. She skated outside for a day, and then we were off to Fountain Valley Skating Center. We had so much fun. Of course I sat and watched, but it brought back so many memories that when I got home, I ended up purchasing some skates myself I have been watching your videos, and, all the lessons you provide are awesome. I just wanted to thank you so much for these videos and for the beautiful Fountain Valley Skating Center I’m sure we’re going to be there skating all the time. Thanks again. Keep on Rollin 🛼
i just bought my first pair of skates yesterday and i’m so excited to start!! i’m chronically ill and disabled so i though this would be a fun way to start some lighter exercise that’s a bit easier on my joints and problem areas than running/walking/biking/etc that i can go at my own pace for. i started looking on youtube for tutorials as i only saw stuff on tiktok until now, and i’m so glad i found you!! not only do you make perfect sense you also feel like the most encouraging fun aunt that you feel so safe with!! i can’t wait until my skates get here so i can start practicing with my mom while watching these videos!
I like the dude in the background just casually doing his own thing xD I think I need to find myself a rink to practice at, haven't been skating for a while... :( but my niece got Skates for her birthday, so... I should practice so I can go skating with her and teach her how to do it properly
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you do! I’m learning so much and today a pair of teenagers skated up to me at the rink and asked “how do you do your turns?” I’ve been practicing there and I was so excited to share what you thought me and I put them on to you. Also they got started picking it up right away and I was so 🤩...so I can only imagine how you must feel 🥰 You reach and teach people all over the world. What a Gem you are☺️
I'm a woman of a particular age and I was apprehensive about skating again after so many years. I've been practicing in the house and at a park with my husband. Well yesterday in Brooklyn NY we went to a rink and after a few go rounds holding my husband's hand, I was able to let go and it's all because of YOU and the hubby telling me that I was ready. I remembered everything you taught me in your videos and it gave me so much confidence. THANK YOU so much. You ROCK!!!!
Hi Deborah. I constantly watch all of your videos. I told you before I'm 75 years old and just got a nice pair of vintage riedell 297's. Well I have tried to move on my skates but just inside my apartment. Well I just tried again. In less than 10 feet I fell and couldn't get up. I had to take my skates off. I'm loosing my spunk and getting discouraged. Already a nice big bruise on my knee. OK, well I will keep on trying. I will keep on watching you and hopefully I can do this. Take care and thank you for your instructions.❤
Hi dearest Dirty Debbie, so I’ve just returned from my first skate outdoors on my brand new skates. In fact, my first skate in 25 years!! And after watching a few of your videos in preparation, I had you in my ear throughout and had the best time! Thank you so much for all you do for us newbies and returners! 😍🌈😘
hi dirty, I watched your videos everyday during quarantine for months until i got an injury. I'm just learning to skate again 3 years later lol and your videos have helped so much!!
thank you for the lovely breakdown! I used to skate when I was 10-11 years old, and now 16 years later I'm having to relearn the skills I thought have been retained through the years. Your video was the first one that clicked after watching through countless others, and I'm sure its because of your great sense of humor, on top of the amazing analogies. Will definitely be watching the rest of the series!
You are an angel from Heaven and an inspiration to all. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I started figure skating when I was 3 years old then went onto Hockey in early 70's which was a challenge all on its' own being a girl sharing the locker room. I then went on to roller skating, dance skating and I even taught young children until I was 16 (a month before my 17th Birthday.) I had a serious life threatening accident when I was 16 and 4 months pregnant on roller skates (I know - I was young and stupid) I fell on the bar that separates the carpet from the floor in the concession area going down the ramp to the washrooms. I fell backwards and my skate went right up my "fun zone". I was in a month long coma with 4 blood transfusions and a new lease on life. When I woke up, my specialist said "I hope you rethink the adoption because your unborn child just saved your life. It's too early to tell if you can have any more. I instantly bonded with my unborn child. I had a baby girl in that June. She has just turned 33 years old. I never roller skated until a few short weeks ago at my age of 50 now. I decided after watching roller skating at the outside rink with my boyfriend for a month, I wanted to "show off" for him. It's not like riding a bike - that's for sure. I was wobbly and fell flat on my butt. I then started watching your tutorials every day and doing them at home with just socks and sometimes shoes. I felt ready so I practiced everyday at the rink but on the ground not on the rink. I was on rentals but they held the skates for me everyday as I wanted to be comfortable. Yesterday, My Impala's came in and I was so excited. We went down to the Pier and I was nervous (too many people) Anyways, when the crowds left, I got on the rink and I did amazing. I finally lifted up my foot and down into the ground. It was the best feeling I have felt in a long time since I was told in May that I am now Cancer free. I am sorry for the long comment but I really want you to know that you have impacted my life so much in a way that is greater than life itself. I cannot wait to get out there and skate. Thank you so much for the great tutorials and help. I watch and rewatch your videos every single day. I feel happier, healthier and good about myself and that is in itself an improvement that was much needed. I am getting over my anxiety and socializing more. I even made some new friends that are positive influences. My boyfriend was apprehensive about me roller skating at first but now he has been supportive and encouraging. He won't skate and I won't push him. (He's 65). I tell everybody at the rink to go watch your videos. I even have pre-written pieces of paper with your name and youtube channel name to hand out. There have been a few who have seen your channel and a few others who have thanked me after watching your videos. Admiration from Ontario Canada Katrina
My first pair of skates are coming Friday and I know what to do to them straight out of the box so I am READY! I’ve learned so much from you so THANK YOU!🥰
Today I did my first 20 minute session going from one couch to another along the width of my sunroom, when I feel confident enough I'll try lengthwise. I'm going to keep practicing this and using the couch to stop until I feel ready for the next lesson.
you're incredible omg every other video is a vague or complicated explanation this is so easy to follow and remember rather than "don't die, don't die, don't die, don't die"
I just got skates again and have started after about a 37 year hiatus. I’m wobbly that’s for sure. These videos are so helpful. I’m watching them over and over. I’d pay some good $ to have lessons from Dirty Deborah. 😂 I’ve got some fear about falling in front of people. It’s like a weird childhood fear.
Thank you so much. I was able to do my first steps today. It was a hard challenge with Ballance and trusting the weight shift but this was great improvement. I'll try again when I buy proper roller skating shoes. The ones I have now are sneaker wheelies and they dont offer much support.
I just had covid very kindly for about a week. My gf wanted me to go roller skating with her but I’ve been scared to try again. 10+ years later and after watching this i finally got roller skate today! these tips were very helpful , i just need more time to practice!
I'm just bought my first skate and learning to skate now. It felt like a baby taking their first step. I fell thrice but I keep getting up. I hope everything works well. I love your tutorials.
I've been on my patio, but this morning I went on the sidewalk in front of the apartments where there isn't any ice. My neighbor saw me and helped me past some bad spots to the empty parking lot. I was able to stretch out a bit, had your voice in my head reminding me to bend my knees, and did well. I went faster than I expected, but it was fun.
Hello Debra, My partner and I found your channel and are so excited to learn how to skate, we both are having custom skates made from Pigeon Skate’s with some Doc Martin’s. The helmet, knee, elbow, and wrist guards are here, and we are so excited. I have been practicing my balance, strengthening my legs/thighs with wall squats and practicing falling from your falling video. Getting up and down is actually a huge workout. Lol We scoped put a few parking lots and a tennis court already too. One day we’ll road trip from Oregon just to visit your Skate center. Screw Disney Land - you have the best energy and the kindest heart and we really want to visit and skate. :) We had a manger who had such awesome energy like you at work a few years ago - she was a bad mouth cheer leader and every one loved her. She had a soft center behind a gruff demeanor. She suddenly had passed away a few months ago - she was one of my Partner’s closest co-workers. I think she took a liking and really was touched and inspired by you because she is super motivated to get healthy and learn now - even having been held back mentally toward physical activity for years by Asthma. We really appreciate all you do to shine your light and ‘spread that $hit like glitter!’ 🤣😂 Truly, thank you so much! 🥳
46 yr old here with a lot going on in the fun zone area. I’ve wanted to start skating again for so long but fear has been holding me back. I’m so scared of falling because I worry that I will come down hard due to my weight and really hurt myself. But I am so glad I have found your channel as it is galvanising me enough to actually get on on the brand new skates I bought for myself this week. So I’ll definitely be taking you with me on my first skate session this weekend. Thank you so much 😊
I'm 43 years old. I used to Rollerblade a ton in my teens, but I never skated. I always felt unstable on skates when I did try them, so I immediately swapped back to my blades. I'm overweight and out of shape, but I decided I want to skate. (Figured it was a good low impact activity I can do indoors... Phoenix 'nuff said) Thank you so much for these videos. I bought some skates this week and hit the rink tonight. I did not fall once! I would have never expect to not bite it at least once. I didn't attempt anything crazy like backward skating, but I did start to work on crossovers on the curves after I got confident I was doing well. Thanks again. I'm so thrilled that I can do this!
I've been watching your videos after renting skates for a couple of weeks. Now I own a pair of skates and wow❕ What a difference. Thank you 🙇 so much for doing these videos. I am not exaggerating when I say this has changed my life. It has changed my life because I now know myself differently. I can confidently, albeit clumsily, skate.😄 You're wonderful Deborah.
French girl here! Started skating today, first time ever, and thanks to your amazing tutorials, after unlocking my wheels and loosening the trucks (that video of yours saved me soooooo much frustration!), I was able to skate forward, stop with the toe stops, and do bubbles (and survive). I love you!!! You are an excellent teacher. Know that somewhere in the south of France, someone is repeating "Down with the butt, up with the gut" 😂
Hi Debbie, thank you for your detailed, step-by-step, thorough instructions. You've helped me learn how to skate and I'm so grateful to you! I would love it if you added a video on slaloming in your Lessons playlist. I know there are other videos out there, but I'd much rather learn it from you. Thank you!
the thing you said about committing is so true! i am very much a beginning skater and some of my best practice sessions have been when i took a risk and committed to whatever i was trying! i learned to turn 180 degrees that way!
I just started teaching my grandchild how to skate and these lessons are a good way to get things across to her. I plan on getting a pair of skates to help her feel comfortable
I’m 47 & haven’t skated in about 30 years. My birthday present to myself was a pair of skates (Apr 8th) even bought my 10 yr old a pair of skates too. She’s excited.
I’m waiting for my new rollerskates to be delivered and can’t wait to try them on THANKS TO YOU, DIRTY. These are the funniest and coolest tutorials ever!
Hi Deborah! I finally got up the courage to go to the rink. Thanks to your help, I did great at 45 years old. You are soo great at what you do! Thank you!
Just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU 🤗 . I'm a 41 year old mum of 4, I haven't skated since I was 12. First day on skates today 🙌 used your advise, had an amazing day and didn't once fall on my butt 😄. Much love from the UK 😊
Lol!! I am watching the video now and laughing at the "high beams", "snack area," and "funzone. Enjoyable and educational! Love it! And the quote from the original FAME movie! Priceless! I'm 50 yrs old and my first pair of skates and pads and helmet are coming tomorrow. So glad I found your video to teach me how to skate properly. Thank you!!
I’m a trans guy, and I just had surgery, and got rid of my “high beams” 😅. But that’s why I’ve been procrastinating leaning how to skate. But it’s been 3 months, so I need to get to it!
Just opened a skate rink in New Mexico and Dirty Debra you have been my dirty secret. Absolutely a life saver and my go-to for teaching and being a better skater. Love this page and couldn’t be without it. Thank you immensely
Just bought my new pair of rollerskates last night, I was tripping and falling last night but after watching this video I was able to move on my own without asking other people to hold me :))
I just turned 50. Been a so cal biker chick for 25+ yrs. Now trapped in nc im here for learning to skate!! Lets do this! U are awesome and feel like home. 😊
Hi Deborah. I am a healthy, vibrant 63 year old woman. I started skating just two years ago. Your videos have helped more than any paid lessons would have. From the creator of the "snack area" and "fun zone" now comes "beams of light" 😂 It really helps to learn because I always remember those when skating.

I actually laughed out loud - we need the high beams!
What a brilliant teacher. Beams up,snack area tight, fun zone down. Thank you for these magical nuggets of wisdom 🛼✨

Does anyone else just hear SNACK AREA RIGHT, DROP YOUR FUN ZONE when they have their skates on?
YEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS THATS THE WORD BEST DESCRIBE THEM
I CALL UPON THE FORCE OF MY SNACKSSSSSS 😩❤️
The snacks are strong with this one. I can feel it. This is the way.

I just picked up skates & am trying to relearn after 40 years - so far, I've become an expert at laying on concrete. This is GREAT! THANK YOU!

Learning to skate, for me, feels like taking your first steps as a child-
I agree.

It is!! You should check out her IG page lol!! She had the theme song playing and all!
We all that age, lol. We're the ones who started skating back in the days before Tik Tok took over.
Yes! “Fame!!!, I wanna live forever, I want to learn how to fly..Highhh🎶” Thank you for saying that. Very cool 😎
I caught that reference too lol
I have started skating only 3 weeks ago I've only fallen once which I'm pretty proud of your videos have helped me alot thank you so so much (I'm only young and this was alot of help)
Great to hear! Keep practicing.
learn a lot of new things with you from Deborah. Today I will put into practice more new things.
I learn a lot of new things with you from Deborah. Today I will put into practice more new things.
I went to the rink yesterday and fell three times in that one event lol
This came to me at the right moment, I've been wanting to learn!
After nearly 30min, I finally managed to COMMIT! it ain't clean, but its something! Also I'm 38 years old and never roller skated a day in my life. Thank you for giving me hope!
Thank you Deborah for this video. It's 2023 and I'm definitely getting back to skating...😄
Love you Deborah, just got my skates and excited to start. I'll keep you posted! Oh Lord🤞🤦♀️🎊🙏
i just bought my first pair of skates yesterday and i’m so excited to start!! i’m chronically ill and disabled so i though this would be a fun way to start some lighter exercise that’s a bit easier on my joints and problem areas than running/walking/biking/etc that i can go at my own pace for. i started looking on youtube for tutorials as i only saw stuff on tiktok until now, and i’m so glad i found you!! not only do you make perfect sense you also feel like the most encouraging fun aunt that you feel so safe with!! i can’t wait until my skates get here so i can start practicing with my mom while watching these videos!
I like the dude in the background just casually doing his own thing xD
I think I need to find myself a rink to practice at, haven't been skating for a while... :( but my niece got Skates for her birthday, so... I should practice so I can go skating with her and teach her how to do it properly
I learned how to skate in just 30 mins because of you!!! Thank you 🥺🌈 love from Manila
It took me 2 years 😭
(to just glide, that's it)
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you do!
I swear I learned how to skate in under an hour because of you you are the best skating teacher I ever saw love your vids!
Wow, thanks!
Wow 75!❤
Hi dearest Dirty Debbie, so I’ve just returned from my first skate outdoors on my brand new skates. In fact, my first skate in 25 years!! And after watching a few of your videos in preparation, I had you in my ear throughout and had the best time! Thank you so much for all you do for us newbies and returners! 😍🌈😘
hi dirty, I watched your videos everyday during quarantine for months until i got an injury. I'm just learning to skate again 3 years later lol and your videos have helped so much!!
Oh welcome back! I'm glad you are healed up and ready to roll.
thank you for the lovely breakdown!
Happy to help!
You are an angel from Heaven and an inspiration to all. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I started figure skating when I was 3 years old then went onto Hockey in early 70's which was a challenge all on its' own being a girl sharing the locker room. I then went on to roller skating, dance skating and I even taught young children until I was 16 (a month before my 17th Birthday.)
I had a serious life threatening accident when I was 16 and 4 months pregnant on roller skates (I know - I was young and stupid) I fell on the bar that separates the carpet from the floor in the concession area going down the ramp to the washrooms.
Admiration from Ontario Canada
Katrina
This video is right on time! My skates just came in the mail yesterday!
Have fun!!
Mine came in 5 days ago 🥳🤩🤩
Hi where did you buy on line your skates ?
Im hoping go get one buy my 1st one ..
Amazon has Sure Grip Boardwalks that are legit and in stock. Hard to find anything anywhere else lately due to supply and demand.
My first pair of skates are coming Friday and I know what to do to them straight out of the box so I am READY! I’ve learned so much from you so THANK YOU!🥰
Watch my video "Adjusting Your Roller Skates" so that you can roll right :)
Dirty School of Skate oooh thank you I’ll get right on that😊😊
Today I did my first 20 minute session going from one couch to another along the width of my sunroom, when I feel confident enough I'll try lengthwise.
I'm going to keep practicing this and using the couch to stop until I feel ready for the next lesson.
Hi Deborah, got my skates today, woo hoo, very excited, thx for these videos, there helping me loads xx
Ahhh the dreaded PVC pipe. my coach loves to use those.
What is it for? She does not mention it in the video, or did I miss it??
Learning how to skate again. It's been probably 25 years and I love your videos! Thank you!
As i recall, my first lesson was mostly how to get up from being on the ground.
you're incredible omg
every other video is a vague or complicated explanation
this is so easy to follow and remember rather than "don't die, don't die, don't die, don't die"
You are such a good teacher! Thanks for the great video lessons.
Thank you Deborah. This first lesson has really. helped me. Now I have confidence that I can do this.
You can do it!
Email me at dirtyschoolofskate@gmail.com for info on lessons.
@@Dirtydeborahharry will do!
I just got some new skates and nobody in my family knows how to, but finding this channel has helped me and now I have something to do ^^
Thank you so much. I was able to do my first steps today. It was a hard challenge with Ballance and trusting the weight shift but this was great improvement. I'll try again when I buy proper roller skating shoes. The ones I have now are sneaker wheelies and they dont offer much support.
I love you, you're so motivating, funny and talented. Thank you for the awesome videos 🎉
I just had covid very kindly for about a week. My gf wanted me to go roller skating with her but I’ve been scared to try again. 10+ years later and after watching this i finally got roller skate today! these tips were very helpful , i just need more time to practice!
...how did you know I was on my couch?👀👀
Lol so funny
I'm just bought my first skate and learning to skate now. It felt like a baby taking their first step. I fell thrice but I keep getting up. I hope everything works well. I love your tutorials.
I've been on my patio, but this morning I went on the sidewalk in front of the apartments where there isn't any ice. My neighbor saw me and helped me past some bad spots to the empty parking lot. I was able to stretch out a bit, had your voice in my head reminding me to bend my knees, and did well. I went faster than I expected, but it was fun.
Omg.... I am so glad I found you! I am 56 and have not skated 30+ years and so excited! Woohooo! Great tips! Can’t wait for my 2nd try!
I am 52 and I want to skate to loose weight and tone. Nice to hear someone else is my age and wanting to do skate!
Hello Debra,
My partner and I found your channel and are so excited to learn how to skate, we both are having custom skates made from Pigeon Skate’s with some Doc Martin’s.
The helmet, knee, elbow, and wrist guards are here, and we are so excited.
I have been practicing my balance, strengthening my legs/thighs with wall squats and practicing falling from your falling video.
Getting up and down is actually a huge workout. Lol
We scoped put a few parking lots and a tennis court already too.
One day we’ll road trip from Oregon just to visit your Skate center. Screw Disney Land - you have the best energy and the kindest heart and we really want to visit and skate. :)
We had a manger who had such awesome energy like you at work a few years ago - she was a bad mouth cheer leader and every one loved her.
We really appreciate all you do to shine your light and ‘spread that $hit like glitter!’ 🤣😂
Truly, thank you so much!
Thank you so much 😊
Hi from across the pond, just got my skates at 49! Not many places to skate here but your videos are the best, great teacher! Thank you
I'm 43 years old. I used to Rollerblade a ton in my teens, but I never skated. I always felt unstable on skates when I did try them, so I immediately swapped back to my blades.
I'm overweight and out of shape, but I decided I want to skate. (Figured it was a good low impact activity I can do indoors... Phoenix 'nuff said)
Thank you so much for these videos.
I would love to go on skating lessons with this lady, so funny - 'high beams' , 'snack area', 'Fun zone 😂 😂 😂
This is amazing! Thank you so much! Sending lots of love from Brazil! 💗
Thank you!
I appreciate this advice. I haven't skated in about 30 years, so I'm trying to remind my body what to do.
Just started skating, your video is so well explained and practical- Thank you😻😻
By far, this is the BEST video for beginners learning to skate.
Adore you. Thank you for these amazing fun videos. Your such a joy to watch ❤️
the thing you said about committing is so true! i am very much a beginning skater and some of my best practice sessions have been when i took a risk and committed to whatever i was trying! i learned to turn 180 degrees that way!
"High Beams" I'm dying 🤣😂🤣😂 LOVE YOU !!
I just started re learning how to skate last month. It's frustrating at times because I was a pretty decent skater. Imma keep pushing through 💪🏾.
Thank you!!
When I first saw the movie "Fame"... I was sooooooooooooooooooo blown away by Debbie Allen's character. I wanted to meet her so bad :)
@@Dirtydeborahharry Yes, me too!! She was and still is SOOO fierce and multi-talented!! That quote is classic!! Haha!!
I’m a trans guy, and I just had surgery, and got rid of my “high beams” 😅. But that’s why I’ve been procrastinating leaning how to skate. But it’s been 3 months, so I need to get to it!
congrats on your surgery!!
Congrats on getting rid of the “high beams!” Haha and good luck on your skating!
I’m the “non-committer” that gets scared to push down and go🤦🏽♀️
COMMIT!!! Lol! I kid. Ease into it.
Same here i find i can go when holding my bfs hand but try on my own i can't move
Same :,D
Can I learn on my carpet?
@@queenshantel I found it easier on my carpet but then it was really scary in the garage today... 😂
Just opened a skate rink in New Mexico and Dirty Debra you have been my dirty secret. Absolutely a life saver and my go-to for teaching and being a better skater. Love this page and couldn’t be without it. Thank you immensely
Love the “Fame” references. Bang that stick! Your lessons have made learning to skate so much fun for me!
Gosh Deborah you make it look so easy.. beautifully done👍🏼
