A lot of people feel like the 10th gen was the peak of styling for the Civic, being so bold, but also felt the Type-R was too loud. I'm just waiting for the Si now. I need a manual transmission in a sedan, and I won't say no to a power bump and the venerable Si badge. Probably not looking at a Type R though, it's a bit much of a commuter car and I don't have the opportunity to be tracking a car (though I'd love to).
Hello. I enjoy your channel. I just bought a 22 Honda Civic Sport. It is a very sweet ride. I didn't want an SUV. Cars like this are a dying breed, but glad Honda invested in a great 11th generation. I traded a 2012 Ford Focus SEL hatchback. I loved that too despite the transmission quirks.
Continued great work on reviews. Looking forward to your take of the Type R. I personally love the drive train of the CTR but just couldn't get past the styling. Well, the mark up too. Unfortunately the mark up will be revived for the 11th gen.
Would've been nice to showcase the new bose sound!, I know you don't usually showcase sound but honda really needed that sound upgrade. nonetheless awesome video as always :)
Lovely car to ring in the 50th anniversary of the Civic, amazing run so far!! I like the understated look, and delighted to see a return to a more 9th Gen backend. Looking very sleek and professional, not too sporty like the 10th Gen (imo).
Yes, it seems well worth the price. And I'm perfectly OK with the CVT and the zero to 60 time. it's more important by far to have the better gas mileage, and the softer and quieter ride. Safety and comfort first. And vents in the back mean nothing really, especially on a small vehicle, plus I don't sit in the back anyway.
Nicely done Honda and a great job as usual Joe!! One thing I'm not sure is the honeycomb dash. How are you suppose to clean all the dirt and dust that will accumulate behind it particularly the blades in the air vents??!! A tasteful solid piece instead would have been much nicer I think.
Looks amazing overall but I have 2 aesthetic complaints: 1. The space invader back styling was the coolest thing about 10th gen, this is definitely more pedestrian. 2. I don't like this trend of the infotainment system looking like a tablet someone shoved into the dashboard. The Insight and 10th gen Civic look much better because they're flush with the surface of the dashboard so it actually looks like part of the car and not some afterthought. Wireless charging is cool but this assumes you never need your phone's screen for anything. I like to have Spotify playing and control that with my phone and keep the map on the infotainment screen. The Insight made this easier since I was able to put a mount in the area in front of the cupholders and it doesn't interfere with anything else (My 10th gen Civic was okay but it blocked the climate controls). With this, you'd practically have to use a cupholder mount since vent clips are out of the question and that wireless charging area is practically underneath the climate controls.
there's a perfect car that exists if... with the Honda engine, Mazda Skyactive AT gearbox, Toyota TNGA platform, Peugeot 508 interior, Camry suspension, BMW F90 exterior, SWEET!!!
I'm holding out to see how much power increase the SI will get, and then I'll consider letting my 2020 Civic Sport go if the price is in line with 2020 SI models.

I'm just waiting for the Si now. I need a manual transmission in a sedan, and I won't say no to a power bump and the venerable Si badge. Probably not looking at a Type R though, it's a bit much of a commuter car and I don't have the opportunity to be tracking a car (though I'd love to).
Stay tuned!
Just saw a sport version today. Man looks nice! Looks JDM, which is a good thing
Love it man looks fantastic
If my dealer not as enthusiastic as Joe, I don’t want it.
I know how you feel!
Continued great work on reviews. Looking forward to your take of the Type R. I personally love the drive train of the CTR but just couldn't get past the styling. Well, the mark up too. Unfortunately the mark up will be revived for the 11th gen.
hands down best car reviewer! much love and respect Joe and Lori
Would've been nice to showcase the new bose sound!, I know you don't usually showcase sound but honda really needed that sound upgrade. nonetheless awesome video as always :)
Go to TheTopher yt channel he shows the bose system
Honda finally made a good looking civic.
I love this back seat but, we all know not everything in the car industry is color Rose's at all.
Lovely car to ring in the 50th anniversary of the Civic, amazing run so far!! I like the understated look, and delighted to see a return to a more 9th Gen backend. Looking very sleek and professional, not too sporty like the 10th Gen (imo).
Thanks for that great insight Chris!
The 12 speaker bose system sold me 👏🏼
Yes, it seems well worth the price. And I'm perfectly OK with the CVT and the zero to 60 time. it's more important by far to have the better gas mileage, and the softer and quieter ride. Safety and comfort first. And vents in the back mean nothing really, especially on a small vehicle, plus I don't sit in the back anyway.
Thanks for the heads up on this new civic car looks great can't wait for the SI manual
So am I!
Pre ordered mine and I can't wait to get it this october 😍😍😍
Look's like a good deal for under $30k but I don't know if I would like the cvt. Nice review and camera work as always Raiti's!!!
Honda did a good job keeping it sleek and elegent.
I guess Honda was going for a uniform thing instead of individual vents. And as an owner of one, it hasn’t been that much of a problem.
The best description of a new vehicle. HONDA RULES. Saludos from México. 😎🤟
Wow Honda really nailed the front AND the back!!! Usually they screw 1 up on all their models!
Apple or Android connectivity puts your phone screen on the infotainment screen.
@@dakotamarie2485 Okay... what does that have to do with the price of tea?
That new Civic looks great. Nice styling on it. The CVT, ugh. I hope the oil dilution problems have been sorted on the 1.5 liter turbo.
oil dilution was addressed after the 2018 models.. I have a 2019 si with zero issues
Same ..
Is naturally aspirated better than turbo? Which will last longer?
Na. Less moving parts
Lmfao even joe called it an accord when he was in the back seat 😂
LOL
It's basically the same platform as the first generation legend. Slightly narrow by an inch. Wider by an inch. Sign of the times
Lol
there's a perfect car that exists if... with the Honda engine, Mazda Skyactive AT gearbox, Toyota TNGA platform, Peugeot 508 interior, Camry suspension, BMW F90 exterior, SWEET!!!
I'm holding out to see how much power increase the SI will get, and then I'll consider letting my 2020 Civic Sport go if the price is in line with 2020 SI models.
Good call Michael!
Let's see if there's even a increase in HP the SI has been around 200hp give or take a few hp since 2006
@@luisarreguin2202 the si needs 230hp.
@@drmvp21 if it is we are gonna find out that honda will just ktuner/hondata the car themselves when we find out the tune only adds 5hp and there's no change in the engine lol.
I like the new Civic Joe. the interior is very nice with the touch screen and sound system my favorite part!
As expected, another great review and nice follow on to part one.
IMHO the new gen Civic is car of the year worthy. Nice touches throughout and will solidify Honda’s #1 standing in this class.
While I think the Touring model is a bit pricy, I feel the LX and Sport versions will do very well.
Thanks once again for a great review and, as always, a big shout out and a tip of the 🎩 to Lori!
6:40 🤣🤣🤣 Great sense of humor, love this presentation!
Thanks for letting me share the cars and laughs with you!
Yes! It is worth the price. Great review!
This looks so much better than the previous generation car
I really love the new civic. It looks way better in my opinion and I'm really excited to see the new type r. I'm honestly surprised how light this car is.
Thanks for letting me share it with you Jay!
I watch your reviews before the others.. love the content 👌
Didn’t talk about how they took out rear heated seats
They're still heated on the Touring in Canada
Still driving a 2006 civic….and it’s so smooth
I gotta say - I'm shocked how quiet the interior was. If it had anything but the CVT it would easily be the best in its class.
So true!
whats the issue with CVT????? my 14 civic is solid!
Rented a 2022 Honda Civic sport black on black. Was going to buy a mustang GT Manual. Now I'm buying the Honda. It's not fast but the interior and the looks and the Honda brand name was enough to change my decision.
Always a great car for the price you pay. And it's a good car to mod.
Good call!
We actually laughed in the middle 70s on this. I mean I use to hear “ who wants a car made by the company who makes lawn mowers?? Hmmmm today. Millions do 🧐😂🤣😀😃
My 1999 Buick Lesabre has a hydraulic hood so yes, I feel that a 2022 top trim should have it
Lol that Buick probably spends alot more time with the hood up then any Honda, so yes it definitely should be hydraulic.
@@michaelc7014 back in 1999, Buick’s were actual good reliable luxury vehicles, not like they are now lol
Owned mainly foreign cars. Sentra SE-R, Mitzu Lancer, Toyota Corolla '04, 2 GTI's , Chry 300 and now my first Civic- Hot Hatch sport touring 2021...Never saw myself as a Honda guy but after driving this...love it!!! Fully loaded... Saw the back of this of '22 . I prefer the look of the 10th Gen...but not bad for '22...🤔
