    Going to Kyushu for the first time in a few weeks and your video really hyped me up!
    If you loved Miyazaki, I feel you'd love Matsushima as well. It's definitely one of the most memorable areas I've been to and I've visited Japan 6x

    Hi from NY! 🗽I stumbled into this video and really enjoyed everything you shared.
    I’m from Kyushu - born and raised in Fukuoka, moved to Miyazaki when I was young, went to Beppu for my family vacation, had a school trip to Kumamoto, and took a day trip to Nagasaki with my friends, so it was sooooo cool to watch your journey. Love gorgeous photos and your walks.
    I used to climb on the hill in my hometown and loved looking over dreaming one day I was gonna move somewhere very far. So NY is my forever home now, but I miss Japan very much. (esp the food! 😆)
    Please go visit Kyoto and Nara… absolutely beautiful!! Thank you for creating this video! ❤️

      @@toddchang2638We opted for the JR Kyushu Rail Pass. It was so relaxing to travel by train and very easy to navigate! They have a website with all the info & prices, I’d definitely give it a look and compare the price to renting a car/gas/traveling time etc. I don’t know how they stack up, but Japan’s train system is so top tier that I highly recommend it regardless 😊

    A lovely vlog. It reminded me when I went in Japan more than 10 years ago now ( I did the most touristy places like Osaka, Kyoto, Kanazawa, Takayama, Koyasan, and of course Tokyo...) and places were so quiet and empty... I felt lucky now that I see how Japan is packed with tourists...If I have to return one day it would be in one of those remote areas or nobody go ...By the way your husband is really handsome, You look lovely together ;-)

    Hehe... I live in Kagoshima. Watched all the way through and all you talked about was walking up the stairs to the viewpoint. I figured that you might have taken the ferry across to the volcano or something.

      I know 😔 We didn’t get to see as much of Kagoshima as we wanted. Afterwards we walked through the city for a bit, but our legs didn’t want to continue any further so we mainly rested 😅 I hope we get to explore it better if we ever get to go back!

    • @thecarmeister
      @thecarmeister  2 місяці тому +1

      Thank you for watching 😊 We actually went late November/early December. We were shocked how mild the climate still was even going into December, it was a lovely time to go. 🍁 And yes, we travelled only with a carry on each 🤭 Every hotel we stayed at had great laundry service so it was very manageable. I hate carrying around big suit cases 😂 Made the train rides super easy too!

    • @Leei
      @Leei 2 місяці тому

      @@thecarmeister Totally agree about the hassle of traveling with bulky luggage. Traveling light is best, but packing light and smart is an art form 😉 I am actually planning a Kyushu itinerary somewhat similar to yours, and currently have a couple of days in Kumamoto included. However, seeing that it’s a relatively short train ride from Fukuoka, I’m thinking to visit it as a day trip and spend the remaining time in other locations. What was your impression of Kumamoto? Do you think it is suitable as a day trip or is it better to stay there for a few days to get a fuller experience? Thanks!

    • @thecarmeister
      @thecarmeister  2 місяці тому +1

      @@Leei I personally really loved Kumamoto and was glad we decided to stay two nights! It feels like a very laid back city and the castle area is gorgeous, I feel that you can already spend a lot of time there on its own. Suizenji Jojuen Garden is a must visit too. I think it's worth it to spend at least one night there. It's not a massive city, so you wouldn't need to stay any longer to explore the highlights. A day trip is definitely doable, but you might feel a bit rushed!
