- This time I traveled all the way to the mysterious island of Amakusa, to look at a rock and learn about the Hidden Christians in Japan, but the epiphany I had was more that of ice cream than faith.

There's a famous 'Nagoro Scarecrow Village' that was all but abandoned due to the aging population and children moving away so one woman brought the village back to life with scarecrow dolls. I think this roadside attraction is inspired by that since even the doll designs look similar in construction.
We finally get another video bois
Sorry it took so long :(
Thanks for your patience!
@@japaneatIt is all good, I just want a quality video,
@@japaneat all good broski glad you posted in the mean time I'll keep watching yo shorts
Yeee bois🤣
And gurls
The voice switch to that monotone creepy Chills guy was soo accurate you need an award 😂
I wish more people did videos like this talking about real history and also keeping it light so you're not depressed after😂
This makes me miss seeing mundane sights in rural japan. I remember spring times visiting family in hakatajima (the ramen is ace, the salt ice cream is major yums and the whole island smells like orange and lavender). I fervently wish you would do more of these long-form videos. Thanks for such a gem.
Gaming humor, Chills impressions, and great travel. You’ve earned yourself another subscriber. 👍
Thank you so much! And welcome :)
His voice is cringe
@@monkeyluffy6100 I have to disagree, I love his voice especially when he switches to Japanese 😍
@@beccajane9939 The Japanese is what makes it worse for me his content is great idk what it is for me
Love your longer videos. Your insight, personality, and editing are even more impressive in longform content! Thank you!
i love everything about the way you present yourself. the cinematography, script and editing is so well done
This was the first long-form video of your's I've seen and I love that you keep your usual naration and editing style in both!
You're definitely the type of person I'd love to just kick-back and chill with!
-Keep doing your thing, JE! I'll definitely keep watching!
He makes the volume consistent so it seems like a single take. It also makes it seem like he doesnt take a breath at all during the whole video
the scarecrows’ faces are so detailed!!! i’m fascinated, whoever made them put so much love into making them. they do lean a little into the uncanny valley, but overall i’m softened by the labor of love. their little town, frozen in time.
I haven't laughed this hard in so fucking long. the number list voice sent me over a fucking cliff :D
this was one of my favourite videos I've ever watched on. UA-cam. pleaseeee keep posting more longer videos !!
Wow, I'm honored! Thank you so much for watching and for the support. More long videos coming :)
@@japaneat promise?
Yeah, a year from now , u can wait rite?@@ok10469
Seeing a video longer than 60 seconds from JapanEat is not something I expected but I definitely appreciate it
It’s been 6 months since the previous legit video. Quite refreshing to see JE do this tbh.😌🇯🇵🍜
I love that you are doing more long form content and this video was great! I only wished you gave some more time for things to breath (like yourself) there is honestly almost too many references (sometimes less is more) though I can tell you put a lot of effort into making this video and many other people seem to like this style even if its a little too much for me so don't take my criticism harshly I love what you do and hope to see more!
Thank you so much for the feedback and for watching!
11:37 Okay this made me burst out laughing 😭JapanEat you are a silly little goose love ya 😻
BRUH same when i heard that voice i straight up thought it was the original guy! i lost it🤣
The video was already good, but this made it even better
Your videos are unironically so nice, there’s something about them that tickles every part of my brain. Keep up the amazing work man
If the history behind the scarecrow village is true, then it is very sad. I grew up in a small town and even to these days, many of my relatives are still in our village.
From what I researched, it was made by a singular lady because of the depopulation of the village and wanted to make it seem full of life like it used to be. There are approximately only 30 people in the village and scarecrows are about 10 to 1. It's a bittersweet story.
@@upg5147 man....😢
@@setyonugroho8706 It is what it is. At least she made the village a place that won't be forgotten for much longer than expected.
Your content rocks, I first discovered you through your shorts, but this entire video was so fun to watch. As others said, your witty pop culture references as well as your own original comments really makes this an awesome travel video!
It flew by so fast and was so funny yet informative. Seems like you can make anything entertaining and still teach us things, even if the one of only things we catch are the obscure references dotted throughout the videos
I moved to Japan this year and I live in a rural town. I was exploring the mountainous hinterland of the otherwise dense coastal town and I stumbled on a sign that said ‘Maria, goddess of light’ and new that it would either take me to Kan’on Maria statue or I would be abducted by some syncretic cult. It turns out it was a Kan’on Maria statue, which surprised me because I always thought that they were limited to Kyushu but I guess I am not that far away and there were hidden Christians all throughout Japan
This may have been addressed a millions times in the comments, is Japan Eat the same person as Bill Wurtz? The delivery, scripts, voice, and overall fun vibes are very similar, and they are so entertaining.
Keep up the great content. I love the shorts and the long videos. I hope to do research in Japan at some point, and these videos make me feel a little more comfortable in pursuing my trip. Thank you!
I love your approach on a food tour. It's like a nice Anthony Bourdain homage to the real-life feeling to really put us in preparation of what a simple traveler would experience.
I love your longer form videos, so please don't stop, everything is nice, pacing, editing, the subtitles helps a lot (though I know they are time consuming to make), the humor... Keep it up man!
Finally a new video!!! I watch your shorts every day, they help me relax, but having a full length video is awesome
I have seen that doll village before (think it was up in the mountains somewhere), but didn't expected there to be more like it, now I wonder if there's even more.
Probably is. The original is well known and it does bring life back to them even if it's just tourists.
Loved the chill vibes interspersed with your usual jokes and references. More long-form videos, you say? I'm in. Do it, dude! And yeah -- congratz on hitting 1 Million!
Looks like in addition to being a foodie you're also a bit of a history buff?
That's cool! I'd be way down for more videos or shoets about Japanese History!
I NEED more full length videos. I love your style. You're right up there with AIJ honestly
this channel is so relaxing from the shorts to the long videos
11:37 had me wheezing 😂 thank you for this video! To more longform content in the future pls!
I love your humour so much man, thank you for your videos. I'm amazed and delighted by them, truly!
Hey, just wanted to say thanks for the longer form video, it was really enjoyable! I love that you're exploring more of this style of content, I think your humor really shines when you don't have to cram jokes into a strict time limit like with shorts. I'm still going to watch your shorts anyway, but hope that we see more of your trips or just fun food experiences and stuff in longer form in the future.
Your longer form videos are so good! Your narrating style meshes so well with the calmer vibe of these roadtrip like vids.
Really love this! Your commentary is fun and the narration is relaxing. If u do more long videos, i would love to see more moments of silence with light background audio! The locations are really beautiful i’d love to look at them for just a little longer
The scarecrow village bit was fun but also a nice opportunity to just admire what a weird and interesting place it was
4:04
Okay, this one hit me right in the nostalgia. Critical hit. You got me.
I love your narration style. It's very engaging, because while you give trivia about whatever food you're eating or location you're visiting you pepper it with video game references. As a video game nut myself I found myself hard pressed to catch every reference. I want to say your monologue was an Ocean Hunter one but I might be wrong.
Still, superb video, extremely relaxing, and I enjoyed eating my lunch while watchhing it. Kudos!
I love your long-form videos! This one was especially informative. I like how introspective your videos are, they make me feel immersed in the experience of the food, travel, etc. Hope you're doing well 😊
Fun and breezy narration while also being informative. Love it!
I’ve watched a lot of videos (wow big surprise from a UA-cam viewer) but your content has some of the best and most satisfying video direction I’ve seen on the platform and humor that doesn’t overstay its welcome. I look forward to more of your long form videos in the future no matter how long lol
Love the longform videos. Also very much appreciate you putting subtitles on here!
I wasn’t ready for 11:36 !!! I laughed so hard!!!
I LOVE these longer tour videos. Please keep making them
I love your long form content, I can't get enough of it!! No pressure to post it more often tho, good things take time :)
I've seen this about three times now, and it's just so calming and charming each time :)
No pressure for you to make longer videos, but looking forward for when you upload another one!!
The map from Fivver saved the video for me. 😂 I'm not even that interested in Japan TBH but your personality and presentation are too fun! 😊
I was just watching your full length videos yesterday night to help me calm down before bed, your commentary is so casual and calming :] happy to get another video that I can binge at 11:50 pm
I've loved your TikToks and Shorts for so long, please make more longer videos, I loved this one!
Thank you! As always a nice video with your dry sense of humor! Make more they will get watched!
this is my first full length video of yours ive seen since i subscribed, i didnt know you made them. it feels like a dream... thank you
Woohoo longer format content!! Love it, thank you for the upload
really looking forward to the long form content, you are literally the only shorts I watch and you always bait me into clicking on your shorts which leads to me scrolling for like 30 min every time
Really can't wait to see more JP content from you, whether it be food or not I adore the way you conduct your videos.
Heck yeah! I absolutely love your videos mate! So finally getting a long one (and getting more in the future) was awesome! ❤
This made my year. I soo love the narrative of this vlog and the funny quotes to back it up. To more long vidz this 2024 please 🫶
Excited to see more video content, the shorts already got me hooked but this was a nice change to watch
Amazing full video 😃👏. Japan Eats .....or Japan Learning Various Things......never disapoints 👍
You had me laughing non stop until the creepy scarecrows. Love your videos
I can’t wait to see more from you! I know that long form content is so much more work for you, so I know I can’t expect you to hop on trains and planes all the time, but personally I would also love to see you roaming around places that are more easy for you to explore too, like you also do with your short contents, I wouldn’t be mad at all. Overall, I just love so much what you do, you’re one of the few creators that posts about food that I really enjoy and watch, and everything you’ll be willing to share with us it’s gonna be a huge pleasure to watch.
Yo bro I just gotta say, I really enjoyed the longer video and the very unique style u bring, it’s like a vlog/history/food video, it’s awesome
I love that I understand all your references. I will be here, waiting for the next video drop.
Loved the long format showing this and that Japan Learn and Eat 😻
I followed your shorts but I gotta say : this run length also works to perfection with your content ! 😊 definitely putting it in my "Listen at work" playlist
Please keep making these, I loved this so much!
Happy for another long form video from you! It was a great video I learned a lot.
You’re video was so fun hahaha ~ thank you!
I loved this!! I can't wait to go on more longform adventures with you, Mr. Eats.
Again, crazy good, non-stop commentary.
I just wanna say, I genuinely LOVE these longer videos! I'd love for you to do more of these!
Yay to longer videos! Though the shorts are always amazing. Always cheers me up when I see a new one pop up on my feed
I love your longer format vids
Theyre almost too short lol
Youve definitely sold me on a trip to Japan at SOME point in life lol
Fantastic video. Amazing content! I love how you respectfully showcas local culture.
I'm glad I checked your channel instead of just watching your Shorts. 😅 Love your narrations! 💖
Great to see sober different places in Japan. Hope to see you upload more often!
I loved this so much😂, the voice over was everything!
Love the longer video man i been waiting for a while and it sure was worth it keep going!
This is the first long form video of yours I've seen and I like it very much. Thank you.

I really enjoy and appreciate your videos. They're interesting, informative, humorous, entertaining.... You are very relatable even though I don't get all your references. Keep it up, you're doing great work!
This was so fun! Beautiful videos, hilarious commentary. And I like that there wasnt music
Please upload more!! I love your content
I really really love your longer videos.... you are the only shorts creator im subbed to because the shorts are great, but this stuff is amazing. I wish you made more long form vids!!
More long videos please!

Another great video!! Keep up the great work man!
These videos always radiate such a wholesome and pleasant aura :D
This was so good! I love the longer content! Scarecrow village is so sad, I hope some awesome remote workers go populate it!
I love this type of video as well as the food ones. Keep up the great content.
very interesting and chill little tour + history overview. I really liked it.
This was a great video! I really enjoy learning about Japan and their culture/cuisine! If you did start making more videos about the history of Japan, I’d definitely be interested!
Your vids, and even your shorts are so cool. I love all the info. Your dry sense of humor is freaking epic. Your channel is literally my favorite . I look every day few x a day to see when u drop content! Keep it up ..... Your extremely lucky to have gotten the chance to live in japan for a period of time. ❤😊
Thank you for this great episode!
Pleeeeease keep uploading lol I need these videos to relax after a hard day
your videos are so captivating and well-made. I really appreciate how you avoid filming peoples faces without permission.
Such chill vibes you offer, more long form content ください
FUNNY, and INSPIRING and getting us to actually go to the hidden parts of Japan!.... MANY channels dealing with Japanese foods and the Japanese culture should learn from @Japan Eat! now KEEP IT UP xD
