Why you left Samsara to become Sanyasi...
Why are you afraid of of taking responsibility of your wife, child, brothers, sisters, father and mother and why are you afraid if earning money by doing jobs or business.
To leave family and sansara and to become Sanyasi or monk is an act of coward and shirk responsibility and work.
So why would we take advice from such persons who had fled away from family , jobs, responsibility?

Do not fall by these fake Swami preaching, they do not have experienced Samsara(Family) and just reading and uttering bookish knowledge of Veda and Upanishads which was once rejected by Buddha

Summarizing on what I think is profound learning from the last Question: 01:12:00; How to have a calm mind (and what could cause mind coloring). Especially #3 below moved me - something that has made a profound impact:
#1 - Have less than more
#2 - Renounce credit - Put others forward - Be last than first (helps with leadership)
#3 - Matters of Opinions - seek to do the will of others to find peace (but do not compromise ethics or values)
#4 - In all matters, accept the will of God

The root of our samsara is that we tend to believe that existence and consciousness are separate, and as a result we constantly seek for singularity (bliss) in every pursuit of our life. We tend to believe that there are sentient and insentient beings and that they are separate fundamentally, and that we need to search for something singular within samsara.
This creates the appearance of duality of pain and pleasure. Pleasure is nothing but a temporary escape from pain, and hence both pain as well as pleasure are called suffering. Existence and consciousness are Non-Dual in reality. This means that even the search for bliss is an appearance since it is already attained and we don't need to search for it.
When we realize this, we realize the infinitude of who we really are, and the reality is then simply understood to be beyond existence-consciousness-bliss.
Hence Brahman has been called Existence-consciousness-bliss, or Sat-Chit-Ananda. Bliss is beyond the duality of assumed existence and consciousness as two separate realities. Existence and consciousness in reality are Non-Dual and from the perspective of the samsari looking at the jivanmukta, they appear to merge into bliss.
The reality though is that not only is the duality of existence and consciousness an appearance, but so is their so called merging into bliss. Brahman alone is and is beyond time-space-causation.
So existence-consciousness-bliss are just three modes of reality, of body-mind-soul. The reality(brahman) is beyond all three, yet Brahman alone appears as all three. Hence Brahman is called Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Existence and Consciousness are perceived as dual, while bliss is perceived as being singular. Brahman is beyond both duality as well as singularity, yet it is Brahman alone appearing as both singularity as well as its perceived duality, making up the triad of existence-consciousness-bliss.
This answers a common question, that if brahman is free of qualities then why is it described as existence-consciousness-bliss. The answer is that they are not qualities but rather three modes of Brahman. It is how Brahman appears to operate in samsara with both the duality of existence and consciousness and the singularity of merging of both into bliss, into infinitude.
Brahman seen from an impersonal view cannot even be talked about, but if you want to say anything, simply describe it as existence-consciousness-bliss or Sat-Chit-Ananda. It also corresponds to Om. Om is both Saguna as well as Nirguna Brahman. Similarly, Sat-Chit-Ananda is both Saguna as well as Nirguna Brahman. The modes are saguna and the reality is nirguna.
Brahman is hence beyond both samsara as well as moksha.

Whatever happens in your world, only there it has validity and evokes a response. In my world, nothing happens. But your words do not reach me. Mine is a non-verbal world. In your world, the unspoken has no existence. In mine - the words and their contents have no being. In your world, nothing stays, in mine - nothing changes. My world is real, while yours is made of dreams. Nisargadatta Maharaj

"Brahman is hence beyond both samsara as well as moksha."
the term "moksha" means no more eternal cycle of life and death. And it is achievable only when one "realizes" he/she is braham.
(I hope I'm not wrong. I quoted the word "realize" because it differs from "understanding" as mentioned in this video.

Buddhists view compassion much differently from me.
If I understand correctly, the idea is let your money flow out.
I consider myself to be a steward of resources. I must dispense them wisely, not just give money without any consideration whatsoever.
Kahlil Gibran seems to have a more Buddhist mindset about this as well.
Secondly, Buddhists have the idea that they must save people from their suffering.
I also take a divergent path of thought on this issue. I agree with Laozi, I do nothing, people get better on their own. Suffering is your teacher.
That said, there is a time to assist with one's Presence, and there is a time to help through one's absence.

Does anyone have a vedantic answer to my question? What exactly is the soul, the part of which survives and persists to carry out karma from lifetime to lifetime? Is the anandamaya kosha the "soul" so to speak? Thank you

In Vedanta what persists to carry out karma from lifetime to lifetime is the subtle body (the mind, more or less), which is still the body, not the soul. That’s not to say the soul is not there in the next birth: the soul (consciousness/self/pure awareness) is ever present in each birth just the same, but it’s not the marker of individualised existence carrying out karma: that’s the subtle body.

@@surakshachoudhary2880 Thank you very much for your input 🙏 So, in that case the term "soul" is used to refer to Vishnu/Shiva, the Absolute Self? And the manomaya kosha is the storehouse of the karma & samskaras. This makes sense.

Soul is not a well defined concept. It is the jiva, the confused entity (an overlay of the Mind and body over the Pure Consciousness/Self) that carries on from death to death carrying the karma. Memories don't survive death (in most cases), but the vasanas or coloring they generated survives. Another way to look is the karmas associate with the one who claims doer-ship (the ego) because they are his, and go with him as long as he thinks he's this body mind complex.

Soul is a karmik structure which different us from paramatma, For example, there is river water in earthenware vessels that is floating on the river. Now if the earthen pot is broken, there is no difference between the two waters. That earthen vessel is the karmic structure that separates Paramatma from me but actually all atma are same. This is theory ,i don't know the reality 😄

You can only escape it but not suppress it. Try to deepen your awareness on everything inside and outside.

There is no Karma of past life as there is no birth to die and no one dies as they are not born??
Karma is a helpless answer given to question for a mind suffering due to ignorance..
when one reaches zero the effects of Karma dies itself ..
The minute one drops all the desires even desire to breath more then required at that moment then all karmas drop at thar instant..
Mind is the originator of desire. And Mind can help to drop desire through awareness knowledge to think as desire is actuly not required ..

Well there are several bodies which are born in past and several bodies which died , the self present in all these bodies didn't but the effects of their actions still remains . For eg Hitler's action , Gandhi actions , swami vivekananda actions and every single person who was born in this world actions . There is no past life in the sense of having seperate souls and seperate past life's rather one soul and all past life's of every body . So karma exists even before enlightenment and also after enlightenment but the difference is , we don't get discontent by it and we can easily forebear it .
And we actually cannot drop all desires , and only way to do that will be death , rather we can switch desire , desire of happiness - from world to self.

The whole Advyatya Vedant is so complicated and has so many questions arise out of it than giving the answers. On side we say that the word is NOT REAL and the consciousness pervaded everything and we are in it and then we worship GOD including great saints . If I am the all pervading omnipotent everlasting and limitless , then why do we worship? Why do we worship God and Guru - it's all a DREAM ! and we need to wake from it . If this is the DREAM of the ?GOD then we will have NO FREE WILL and we have free will and that is the only way we can get out of cycle of birth and death. One can say that in HIS DREAM he has Laws and the people in it act according to that , but that would not be dream as the DREAM IS CREATED BY THE DREAMER. If the consciousness pervades everything and the connection of that with the PHYSICAL - ASTRAL -SUBTLE AND CAUSAL bodies causes out LIFE or existence then what breaks down at the time of death? Why the unit of subtle and causal body LEAVE(?) the physical body? Does it have separate consciousness when it ENTERS fertilized egg? There is a lot of word play . One has better chance of explaining all this by SANKHYA . The PURUSHA and PRAKRUTI are separate and Purusha has no qualities or GUNAS and Prakruti has no spirit but has Gunas and so when they come together the universe starts. The physical and Subtle and Causal bodies come out of PRAKRUTI but the energy or spirit comes from Purusha - may be it's refection CHIDABHAS.
