  • Here we go everyone its time for some Camaro SS 1LE 6 piston Brembo front brakes for the 2017 Camaro 2SS and get rid of the 4 piston Brembos. In this video I show what is required to fit the 6 piston Brembo brakes on an SS and we go through the bleed process using the power bleeder from Motive products to change out our Factory DOT 3 fluid to Motul DOT 4 racing fluid. Enjoy...

Them power bleeders sure beat the heck out of bleeding brakes the old fashioned way! Nice work.

Great video, im looking to do this on my Camaro. 2 questions.
    1) did you switch the breaks lines because you had to or upgrading
    2) do these bigger breaks fit inside a stock wheel?
    thank you appreciate any insight

Maybe I'm wrong, but doesn't the higher boiling point fluid ( Racing fluid ) absorb more water??? I thought in order to use it, you either need to flush the system after every race or on the street every oil change. Hence why DOT 3 is still standard in the Camaro. Could be wrong, just looking for more opinions.

Thanks for this! I am probably going to have to go to these this summer as I plan on to keep tracking my 2SS. I’m curious if the shield should be what the “race” shield is that GM wants you to run on a 2SS according to the track prep guide.
I’ll have to give my power bleeder another try, mine constantly leaked no matter what I did

yeah I am not sure I wanted to keep protection for the tie rod and ball joint boot as well as the ABS sensor, I may have to look into the other shield we shall see

Oh ok... did you use the 14.6” rotor from the 1le? And did you use the same bolts from the SS 4 Piston caliper?

Hello can I use my 2020 2ss stock break lines ? Or do I have to switch them out when I look them up in the dealer it looks like it’s the same part number for a regular ss and 1le breaks

My set up is used as well bro but they cut the hose 1/2 way that’s why I was wondering if I could use the 4 piston ones since when I look it up the entire hose is the same part number for a regular ss and 1le ones

Same here, the set I bought was used but had a bad rotor. Now I'm trying to source the rotor ring so I don't have to buy the whole rotor. That's where I'm running into issues, GM doesn't sell them separately. Bummer...
