- Working out in your backyard can be fun! Follow along as I take you behind the scenes of how I built my outdoor Calisthenics gym park that also functions as a Ninja Warrior Course and a Jungle Gym.
Within my backyard gym, you can do Pull ups, Push ups, and Dips on the bars. I also have built monkey bars into the setup as well. I have attached mountain climber grips, various ninja holds and a climbing rope to build up your upper body strength as well. Every want to try out the Salmon Ladder? well I have that too! There are even gymnastics rings and a play swing attached to the jungle gym. This project took about three weeks to build but it was well worth it!

The cost for this setup was about $1,500. I have a cost breakdown in the description. I went all out but you can build a good setup for much less. Feel free to ask me specific questions about the build. Thanks!
Can we get a clearer blueprint shared? How far are the post from each other
@@giannahaselrig7255 maybe be grateful that he posted this instead of sounding like a spoilt kid.. say please.. not hard... also, figure it out, he has shown more than enough.
Did you use the piping from electrical or plumbing? Home Depot said the plumbing pipe is thicker. Thanks!!
@@esnmb You definitely want to use the plumbing pipe. The electrical pipe will bend and not hold up to the movements of the exercises.
@@VFit4life thanks! I bought the plumbing pipe and am about to start cutting to length. Thanks again for such a great video!
These should be mandatory in every city park and playground I guarantee you would have way more active healthy kids and adults
Chile has in most of the park this calisthenics bars and helps a lot to keep people busy doing exercises and incentive more people join into street workout!
100%. Although we have several parks like that here in Texas and people seem afraid to use them where others may see their weakness or short comings. Very sad
@@johnmichaels4330 yeah true people are intimidated when in reality 99% of people will be nothing but encouraging and want people to join them same is true for the gym though really
I just wanted to let you know that have used your videos, plans, and parts list to recreate this in our backyard. We are so grateful for all your hard work and attention to detail! Thank you so much!!! We all LOVE this course!
Awesome! Glad I was able to help! Enjoy and have fun!

Damn. Looks really good
Thank you so much for making this video. This is the best tutorial on how to make a ninja warrior course!
Glad to be able to help!
Amazing!
Thanks for the inspiration - I built one almost exactly like yours.
this is excellent!
Great job … very impressive set up :)
You deserve more attention !
you have done a fantastic job. Love the little white dog too.
This is awesome, I want to build something similar.
Awesome man!
Very cool!
Waow! this is amazing..
Great! Thanks!
Your Backyard Calisthenics Gym looks like a dream to me. I think it's the best I have ever seen. Well done for the work and the result. Enjoy the workouts!
I'm from Bucharest, Romania and I workout wherever I can. Park, behind the block, hang the rings from the trees, etc
Thanks, and I'm glad you like the setup. Yes, the world can be your gym! Get your workout in wherever you can. 💪
Amazing
Epic Build , I need this. Thank you for the video it helps visualize that anyone can do this project. :)
Awesome!!!!
Awsome!
Very nice!!
So very very impressive!! Bravo! I want one!😂
nice work
this is so cool man!!!
Really enjoyed this video and your instructions. Planning to install something similar this summer. btw - great to see your family helping you some on the build too!
That sounds great! Glad to be a help! Enjoy your build!
Well done Sir, your video inspired me to build mine, a lot simpler though...:)
great job
Love it, a little bit jealous
Great video man, it inspired me to make this in my backyard aswell. I really like that it doesnt take that much space at all , but you can do anything you want on it. Thanks for the inspiration!
The main thing that i changed was the monkey bar wood part. I dont trust my cutting skills, so i bought 2 pc 4 x 4, which i put right on top of the columns, so i just had to use some consturction srcews, and some metal reinforcer thing, and voala...
Glad I was able to be a help. Yes, make it your own and customize it to your liking. Have fun and enjoy!
Dude! That’s really cool! I came across this video while looking for ‘how to build monkey bars’. Thank you for the inspiration!
Thank you for checking it out. Hope it helped.
This is what I want
Thanks for video. Part with the augur seemed intense, but that structure will survive a bomb!
That was the hardest part of the build. We ran into a bunch of rocks. I started out with a post hole digger and quickly realized I was going to have to rent an augur.
This is super cool and we'll done! What are some things you wish you would have done differently? Are you planning on any additions?
Shout-out from Buffalo. This looks amazing, nice work my man. Go Bills! 🏈
Dope 😎 video
Nice.
cool video! I was going to build a monkey bar I prolly add the chin-up bar too. Thanks for the content!
Excellent video, and very helpful! Going to borrow some ideas for my project. Buildling one in Kigali-Rwanda (East Africa). Cheers
That's awesome!
Thanks for posting this video. I've been thinking about doing something like this for a couple of years and would like to have more than my pull-up bar at the end of my clothesline post.
Thanks, build one that fits your needs. It's great when you build your own because you can customize it to your liking.
Woooooow encouraging its time to hit up Home Depot
Dope af
Great video and gym. I’m planning on building my kids one this coming up Spring. Which paint did you use for the bars for it to last in the weather?
This is great! I would like to replicate something very similar to this. In the video, it's really hard to see the drawing with the dimensions. I'm wondering if you could provide the details about the measurements/distances etc. Thanks!
Planning on building this with some minor tweaks. Thanks for sharing this video. It’s a great reference. Unfortunately this is gonna cost $1M to build with lumber prices the way they are lol
I built your gym last year can't do monkey bars forward and backwards yet tho thanks for the plans much appreciated ❤
Thank you so much for the great video and all the helpful information. I'm going to be building this in about 2 weeks and couldn't find any information on the paint you used to paint the steel pipes. Would you mind sharing that information?
Great build! Could you please share all measurements for the build?
This looks very nice...what brand and type of paint did you use for the bars?
Great build, going to start building the side with the ladder, dip bars, and high pull up bar. On the ladder, how far from the top did you set the first pipe, and how much space is between each pipe?
Hey just stumbled across your awesome build! Could you tell me how you prepped and what type of paint you used for the galvanized pipes? I tried looking all over for what type of paint to use and how to prep for galvanized steel but couldnt find a solid answer. Thanks!
This is the best backyard build I’ve seen - great job!! What size are the auger holes in diameter? Has the structure held up well 2 years later? Thanks for sharing!
The holes are 10 inches in diameter. That gave me wiggle room when setting the 4x6 post. It's been holding up well through two Buffalo winters! Still solid!
Thanks for watching!
_cries in apartment_
But seriously, gonna try and build something like this inside if I can, because damn I'm inspired! Will start with a standing pullup bar, and then see if I can make something that attaches to it for monkeybars and can be folded away when done. All that said, SOOO much nicer when you can exercise/play outside like this. Gorgeous fucking work man!
Cool video. Grace, peace, and love in Jesus Christ. Good job!
When I was a kid, we called this a playground 😉
I am thinking of building my own in my garden. This video is awesome, thanks for taking the time to make it and document your progress!
I see the video is 3 years old so I would like to know (and I'll scan more of the comments incase this is a repetition). How well is it aging? The concern for me is that I live in the south of England and its going to get wet, frozen and some sun in the summer.
Thanks again - top work!
Thanks for watching, and it's great that you plan to build one of your own.
Make sure you use pressure treated lumber, and you should be good.
Mine has survived four Buffalo, New York winters. We get a lot of snow during the winter it's survived a Blizzard.
I plan to do an update video on the setup this spring.
This is great I want to build it. Where can I get the plans?
Hi, this looks really awesome. Can you share the blueprints for it please?
This is an awesome video. very detailed and helpful. A question: will the bar rotate along the flange?
Thanks for watching! No the bar does not rotate. There is a hex bolt on the flange you use a hex key with to tighten it.
@@VFit4life This is very helpful. Thanks for sharing.
How many years is the wood good for being it's outdoor? He whole thing looks great.
I think this is all that humans need
I’m getting ready to build this in my yard. Scared though , considering hiring a carpenter ..
My daughter just saw kids ninja warrior and is now hooked. Do you happen to have the parts list available to share and the dimensions? Love the set up and design, nice work!
Just added what I used in the description. What specific parts did you want to know more about?
This is awesome! I would like to have this built for my grandson. I’m in a wheelchair and my son is not good with his hands so I will pay someone to build it. Could you send me a detail list of the plans and materials.
I’ve done post digging by hand and I can say that machine would have save a day or two of work
I started doing them by hand and then realized that was gonna take forever. So I went out and rented the augur.
