Class man this is exactly what I was looking for when I typed into UA-cam, I'm going to make this in my garden in Ireland 💚🏡💪
Thanks, nice to know. Good luck with the build.
Well Gary any chance you could find them wall brackets here in ireland?
Mark Doyle mate I kind of stopped working out for a while. Back at it now thank god and am doing a different set up in my shed! Best of luck tho
@@markdoyle4718 you find them wall brackets
@@eamonn1979porter i did Dylan thanks
Good stuff man. From Biloxi Mississippi USA
Very nice!! I just bought a home a few months ago and im building up my garage gym, but I felt like something was really missing and I stumbled on this video.
Great set up!
Thanks for making this video, very useful, will build one in my home
Great step by step video👏🏾
Thank you for the inspiration. Let’s all build this at out garden and do some exercises.
Great instructional video, can't wait to replicate this
Thanks for the informative video.
Thank you for posting.
Fantastic build, I plan to build a replica. Thankyou for the inspiration!
Cheers
I like it man thanks for sharing
I would have to use 6' X 6" for me. But I had this plan in my mind for a good while. Thanks for sharing.
4x4 ss more than enough, but if you have money to waste go ahead!
Thanks for a great instructional video Adam. However, it would be amazing if you were able to put together a ‘shopping list’ of parts and ideally where to buy them, especially the metal bars and brackets. I am going to try and make a free standing version if I can since I live in a rented house so not so easy to sink the posts in concrete!
Maybe you could make a free standing pull up/muscle up bar from scaffolding. Like an A frame or something.
How has the free standing version turned up in the end? Cheers
Looks great! About to start mine this weekend and this really helped. Thanks so much
Thanks, glad it was useful
Bro, your grass looks amazing! I'm jealous!
Thanks , I appreciate it !
I dont have place for this now but i will definitely do that in some time greetings from 🇵🇱
Top video, thanks for this
Cheers
Nice job I’m starting my fitness build so your video was
Spot on. Thanks brother can you do the muscle up?
Cheers dude good video that, simple and does the job just what I need 👍
No problem 👍
Lol i've built a pretty similar one😁 it's great to see, that other people have the same ideas
Brilliant video, glad to see someone actually treating or covering the post when in the ground. see so many make these videos and treat post afterwards but only whats out the ground!! any chance of links for parts?
Cheers! This is the link for the metal work on ebay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Q-Clamp-Scaffold-Fittings-Galvanised-Tube-Tube-Clamp-Handrail-Kee-Clamp-DIY/202872063549?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
The posts were from a local place called Herts Timber, I got the post savers from postsaver.com
nice build! i am planning something similar.i am thinking about drilling holes in the post for the bars and put the sockets on the back side of the post so it hangs in more than 2 screws.
and fill silicone in the drilled hole. and tophats in galvanized metal for the post`s helps a lot. hope that makes sense nice that you menchen both cm and inches.
That sounds good, As an update the longer posts have twisted slightly over time.
You need to invest, or borrow a post hole digger, bro!
I’d also use six by sixes for better stability.
Brilliant thank you for the inspiration too. May I ask how you’re getting on with it and also finding the tube diameter you used? Do you think the 42mm tube would be too thick?
If you do an OK sign with your hand and measure the diameter of the hole made by your thumb and first finger, thats a good diameter for the chinup bar. It gives you an idea of your best grip size. 42mm should be about right. Im getting there, but less inclined to use it in winter ! Up to 10 chin ups and 16 dips now.
Thanks Adam, just what I've been looking for and you made it look so easy! I presume you painted Ronseal or similar on the posts to stop them rotting?
Cheers, yes used a Cuprinol light oak external varnish and the post savers seem to make fence posts last many years. The hardest thing is motivation to out in the cold and do it!
@@Adam-Builds-It - Haha. When you see what I’m working with at the moment you can enjoy the luxury of a proper setup!
I ll build the same one bro. Thanks for sharing,
Hope i can build mine too. But i don't have the tools and money to buy the needed equipments..nice video to be fit everyday.
Great and simple video/installation. Wondering if you get any wobble when using it? Was thinking of adding some supporting struts at the base but now unsure if I need to...
I thought I would get some wobble but surprisingly not. The 100x100 posts seem to work well
Nice build mate. Can you please tell me what bolt have you used to put the clamp on the fence post? Cheers
I used stainless steel coach bolts. they have a hex head like a bolt does, but a screw thread. www.toolstation.com/stainless-steel-coach-screw/p18033
Wish I could build this myself
You can !
love it. I'm going to build mine based on your example. Where did you get the materials from?
Hi, Posts were just from a local wood place in Hertfdfordshire, they are just normal fence posts. If you go on ebay and search for Galvanized tube and clamps there are quite a few suppliers.
@@Adam-Builds-It would you have the name of the ebay seller you got yours from. Always a bit dubious using ebay 🥴
@@jodyrice8743 its tube_clamp_kits_llp they have good feedback

Looks amazing Adam. Where did you get the bars with the brackets from?
It was on Ebay,
1 x 34mm Galvanised 1.5m steel bar and wall brackets (ebay)
2 x 42mm Galvanised 1.5m steel bar and wall brackets (ebay)
Thanks! How is this looking now ? Still stable ?
Where could i find cheap bar? Seems to be expensive everywhere
does the 4x4s work well or would 6x4 be better option?
Hi, this is gem! May I ask what wood treatment did you use? Stain/preserver/oil based or water based? Which product? I assume those posts are pressure treated so was it difficult to apply anything on them? Many thanks 🙏🏻
Hi, yes they were pressure treated but I did use a water based satin exterior oak stain and It seemed to take ok. Can't remember the brand. Sorry
@@Adam-Builds-It that’s great thanks
Really nice. Are you still using this? How is the stability for things like muscle-ups? Wondering if I should go deeper than 2ft.
HI, stability seems good. I'm 100kg and does not seem to rock. I still use them, but at 46 I've given up on the muscle up LOL ! I am happy to do 10 chin ups and keep that up.
Do your hands slip on bars at all? Some tubes seem to mention a coating?
No, seems to be OK. The galvanized bars are not smooth like a barbell
How did you connect the galvanized pipe to the wood? I’m a diy newbie.
Hi, they are called rail base, or pipe base. It's a galvanised fitting that you put the pipe into which clamps on with the hex bolts. It then has two holes to fix to the wooden uprights
@@Adam-Builds-It thank you very much sir. You have the best video in my opinion on this!
Is no one gonna talk about the fact that part of the list of things needed is "blood sweat and tears"?
Hey are the 4 by 4’s sturdy enough for muscle ups I was going to try 150 by 150 but there quite hard to come but in England especially in 3+ metres
Will, during my many attempts they seemed to be OK 😄
I Made a little gym just like u but I used metal other materials
Having a hard time locating a pole socket that is not for a closet. Any pointers?
Try looking for galvanised hand rails
can you put link for Galvanised rod?
here you go.. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Q-Clamp-Scaffold-Fittings-Galvanised-Tube-Tube-Clamp-Handrail-Kee-Clamp-DIY/202872063549?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
Can I ask roughly the cost it cost you to build-
It was about £190
Can u write down the materials needed please
bery noice
Whats bolts/screws did you use?
I used stainless steel M12 60mm coach bolts to mount the brackets to the posts.
I want one :(
Make it happen !
@@Adam-Builds-It :0 will do but first let me re watch this video 600 times
you did not test the stability of the post
buff dude
I wish this was in English. 😂
