they also were used as ambulance. When my grandmother was in labour with my dad the Bombardier came and picked my grandfather and grandmother up to take them to the hospital because there was so much snow they couldnt drive on the roads that would of been in 1953 or 54 i remember my grandfather telling me this and saying it was a cold 20 mile ride not much of a heater in those days.
+Jordan Krupp originally, the drivetrian is taken from '40 plymouth, it comes with a three on the tree, flathead l6 engine, clutch and rear axle. in field, a current improvement is to install the industrial version of the engine and HD truck clutch. on very late models, the chrysler industrial V8 engine was an option
Andre - My late Mother in Law grew up in St. Joachim Quebec which is less than 20 kM from Valcourt, I remember her showing me a picture of a similar machine, in which she was transported to school (in the 1930's & 40's). Her maiden surname was Beauregard - and she was somehow related to the Bombardier family. I hope you still have the B12
Someone abandoned one at the start of LadySlipper road ,a logging road outside my home town . It was blue and was bought from US army surplus .I am sure nature has claimed it by now .
Oh probably does -- probably one that runs on rabbit turds . I fluked it and ended up with a 1973 Evinrude 440 quiet flite Mint condition sat in a garage all these years guy just never used it --Boat too - These are nice machines nicely done too anything where your inside having fun is the best specially in Canada LOL .
When the Quebec government decided to open all the roads in the winter that kills the snowmobile that's why it stoped, the bombardier put his energy on the ski-doo
AugustusLarch, it's about 90% wood with a clear. the doors are about the only thing that's painted. indeed though the paint and the wood finish is excellent!
J'aimerais organiser une rencontre a Mont-Laurier de snowmobiles plusieurs possibilités et beaucoup de places a voir comme la montagne du diable et plus plus ectect...
to make it work on the sand in warm temperature, they need to improve the cooling system, they had a tendency to overheat when temperature was above the freezing point.
Or you could just enjoy it as designed and not think you are smarter now then they were then. Just what you need things hanging off the sides to get you stuck in tight places
i love those great machines i wish i could get one somewhere Joseph Bombardier u were a great man love skidooing
Thank you for the commentsAndré
That thing is so cool! Not many people care about the classics anymore, only how fast they can go.
What a beautiful machine; appreciate seeing this, thanks...
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! She's in incredible shape and I'm jealous as all hell!!!
I remember going on one of these on lake Simco , in Ontario.

B-12 , held 12 passengers and a had a big-block V8. The skis had a center runner and it steers fine. Bombardier knew his stuff !

My dad had one
vraiment beau
really cool
I want buy one of this beast ,but the saddest fact ,im live in Hungary....
Driving in the snow.
i don't know what kind of starter that machine has but it must be a good one
The engines were continentals . We took the six cylinder out and put in a crysler industrial v8
typical engine was the Chrysler T120, possibly that they installed some Continental engine in the late production.
Awesome
that is cool!
Looks like they don't steer for beans. That might be the reason they aren't around.
Ski's are sitting too high, you can see they are often not in contact with the snow.
When the Quebec government decided to open all the roads in the winter that kills the snowmobile that's why it stoped, the bombardier put his energy on the ski-doo
Any way to see what powers it? thanks!
может я что то не понимаю но зачем лыжи если есть гусеницы ?
new on the clutch????
my dad has one of these but it is white
It’s a woody
What engine is used for power?
Original T-120 Chrysler engine 6 cyl.
@@camionboswell1 typical sound of the flathead Chrysler six, typical valve leaking sound too, these engines were notorious for burnt exhaust valves.
Why are these sometimes driven with the trunk popped open and the engine exposed?
to cool off the engine
You need to put a throttle hold on that machine. It has nice paint. It's narrow. Have you ever considered outrigger skis.
AugustusLarch, it's about 90% wood with a clear. the doors are about the only thing that's painted. indeed though the paint and the wood finish is excellent!
1 cannon away from a tank.
BEAUTIMUS MAXIMUS!!!!!!!!

J'aimerais organiser une rencontre a Mont-Laurier de snowmobiles plusieurs possibilités et beaucoup de places a voir comme la montagne du diable et plus plus ectect...
jay leno won't even be caught in the snow. May if works on sand too.
