I have rekeyed my w124 ignition tumbler twice, by using 5-7 used ignition locks from junk yards. I also know for sure you still can get any lock keyed to your w124 from a dealer, and it is not crazy expensive (I think somewhere around $200-300) but you would need to bring your car to dealer where they can verify you are indeed the legal owner. Unfortunately for me back then, the closest dealer to me was 400 miles away. You are the 1st person who did on camera and put on internet afaik. Keep it up!

Thanks for the encouragement! As far as I know, all of the locks are NLA and I'm not certain if dealers will rekey. It's possible- but my local MB dealer for example won't work on cars before 1990

I have to rekey a drivers door tumbler on my car. I have to figure out how to do this. Nicely done on these!

Thank you! Let me know what you run into. For the other locks, you might get lucky and with the key in and turned, the cylinder might come out of the lock assembly. Usually, you'd have to free the end of the cylinder. But then replacement of the pieces should be straight-forward at that point. I should have done a video - but I replaced my trunk lock with a brand new one and rekeyed it. It was a fun process! Just a heads up that some of the external locks have a two piece tumbler (two halves).
