It actually is historically accurate because if you watch the show it explains his life years previously from a servant to a samurai until him and his master were invaded by enemies. If you read about yasuke you’ll realize nobody is exactly sure what happened to yasuke during this battle or if he was alive or not. Basically after that battle there is nothing to base yasuke off of. So it was historically accurate about his life in that sense.
Like that line completely ruined the premise of the show.. Why is being “black” special or unique to this character when there are giant robots and OP magic.. the context behind Yasuke’s importance as a character is diminished

You know, with political intrigues & battles & some drama etc. Or maybe do something similar to ''Samurai Champloo''. Nah, let's take this real-life, historical character and have him fight mechas in 16th century feudal Japan!!

Probably because most people thought that it was gonna be low fantasy or realistic with exaggerated fight scenes. People where interested because they thought that at thing saying it was about the life of the Black samurai would be about that instead of Mongol mechs, werepeople, and Shamans with stands.
The dialogue exchange in this scene was really bad. I guess my hopes were too high for this anime because what we got was a mediocre story with great animation and a non specific genre.
