As a former employee at Trader Joe's (TJs), I can confirm that going to TJs for fall products is a must. One of the best things is how the place smells (bear with me). They have various candles for the season, there was food sampling so you can smell the food while working, and most prominent of all were those cinnamon brooms they market at the front of the store, so when you enter the place you get a good whiff of the usual Autumn aromas.
I’ve suffered with crippling anxiety and panic attacks my whole life. Romanticizing the little things really has helped me out the past few years. Autumn is my favorite season and I love a good spooky book or film. Desi, your videos bring me so much joy and a calm spirit. And it just so happens I am going to a graveyard to drink a coffee this weekend with my friend who I have not seen in person since the pandemic began
A poem I made! You wake up to rain dripping down your windowsill. You hear the wind gushing with excitement. You get out of bed and change from your silky pajamas to your burnt brown sweater and long waisted leggings. You comb your once messy hair. You walk outside and feel the rain starting to trickle down your forehead. Your hair and clothing is now wet, but you don’t care. You are filled with so much delight from the rain, you don’t even notice the now soaking wet clothes. You run back inside and grab your favorite book and start to read it near the oven where your mother is baking her delicious pumpkin cookies. Today you truly feel like autumn has come. And the truth is, it only comes when your mind decides it comes. And that is the beauty to the season.
It's been abnormally warm here in PA these past few weeks (I'm taking consistently in the seventies and eighties), but it finally cooled down a bit today. I went to the zoo with my roommate, and they were having "boo at the zoo." All of the kids were dressed up in costumes, there was a cool breeze, and it finally started to smell like Autumn. The biggest thing I’m doing to romanticize autumn this year is throwing a fall harvest themed dinner party under the stars ❤️ All the food and decor is inspired by the season. Plus we’re having a fire and watching a Halloween movie outside 🎃
I really love your videos, i think its really important to romanticize every season because just waiting for the one season is boring, there is beauty in all of lifes seasons. some of my favorite fall activities are: -cooking autumnal meals (Butternut/acorn squash soup, mini thanksgiving dinners, homemade bread, etc) -baking cozy desserts like pumpkin and apple and harry potter themed foods -having a harry potter movie marathon with THEMED FOOD, the best -going for cozy car rides, (solo, with family, or with friends) with the heat on in the car, autumn jazz playlist, and going down the abandoned roads need my house to see creepy old houses, cemeteries, and fall leaves -read witch/ monster/ vampire/ mystery/ goosebumps/ Nancy drew/ or any autumn books somewhere with a view, such as a river, hillside, pond, indoors, outdoors, or even at a cozy coffee shop or bookshop near you -amsr or ambience playlist on youtube have my heart (harry potter and halloweentown ones too!) -candles, pumpkins, hot tea or coffe or hot cocoa -scary movies, or even thrillers, or my personal favorite childrens halloween movies like hocus pocus -dressing up for halloween the entire week of halloween or wearing things that make you feel seasonal (boots, cozy jeans, fuzzy sweaters, big sweatshirts) -tim burton movies as background -having tarot card readings or candle light conversations with friends or siblings -pumpkin picking with family friends, or even pets, apple orchards have my heart -bring a home cooked meal to a relative - anything you look forward to this time of year
God your videos have inspired me to really get into the seasons and enjoy the little things. Especially as an introvert as well it makes me alone time so much more enjoyable as I am in my apartment surrounded by my fall and Halloween decorations with my fall scented candles and pumpkin cookies and pumpkin spice hot chocolate while I am reading a spooky book. This is my best life.
Being an introvert during autumn/winter is so great because it’s the perfect time for being at home cuddled up with some warm tea and a good book. I love it 🧡
Since my yard, gardens, countertops, pantry, refrigerator, and food dryer are all currently filled with apples, pumpkins, squash, tomatoes, herbs, crabapples, nuts, mushrooms, pears etc., and the leaves are changing color and the wind is swirling everything around in preparation for some rain later, it's hard to get away from fall here. I'm definitely not complaining. I'm living my best life. I'm reading all the gothic and spooky books. Making soups. Drinking teas with rich earthy flavors. Using all my autumnal dishware. We didn't decorate as much as we usually do as we have two very curious young floofs that try to knock over or eat anything new in the house. Maybe next year. We did put up all the outside decorations.
I feel this SO MUCH! I live in Texas, so I make it feel like autumn (some days this is more difficult then others). I always watch “You’ve Got Mail” for my birthday in October. I drink copious amounts of herbal teas. I definitely binge watch Gilmore Girls, & at at work I spread the autumn joy with my preschool class. I’ve purchased a ridiculous amount fake fall leaves and we roll, throw, and jump in the leaves together. The kids absolutely love it, & I look forward to it every year too! Someday I’ll enjoy the real thing, but until then, I’m making it work here in the Lone Star State. 🇨🇱

I have ADHD and anxiety and I think this is super helpful for those of us who struggle with living in the future and not in the present. There really is no words to describe the beauty of Autumn. The pumpkins, the yellowing cornstalks, the apple and pumpkin spice, the crisp air, the warm and neutral colors, the spooky vibes at the end of October, the thrift-y feel, the warm drinks (hot cocoa is my personal fave), the PUMPKIN PIE, the leatherbound books, the scented candles, the huge amounts of compatible aesthetics (dark academia, dark cottagecore, etc), the thick sweaters, the cozy blankets, the crackling fireside, the scenery (autumn must be Nature's favorite season), the thick, warm socks, the fun movies, the decor...the list goes on forever. Fall activity idea (especially if you are an introvert and don't want to leave your home): grab an old blanket, your favourite book and some items that make you feel cozy. Then go on your balcony (or in the living room if you don't have one!) and do a reading- picnic! You could also make yourself a hot cup of tea and eat snacks while you read🍂🦔
We moved from the Midwest to Houston three years ago. We don’t get autumn weather until December and I miss it so much! I wish for Autumn weather year round with a few warm weekends a year to enjoy the beach! 🍁 *sigh* 🍁

Very aesthetic. ❤️ For me I think the most romantic thing in the autumn is to see the flickering candle-lights on the evening of the All Souls day. I live in the North Eastern part of Europe and we don't have Halloween traditions, but we celebrate the All Souls day. We light candles on the graves of our deceased loved ones, we leave some flowers. Although it may seem for some people a sad day, but for me it is not so. For me it is a celebration of love, because love never leaves us though the ones we love someday will. It is a celebration of love for those who are waiting for us in the fields of Heaven and for those who are with us today. And the sight of a graveyard full of flickering candle-lights in the evening when it gets dark is something worth seeing. I always get shivers down my spine. It is so cozy, beautiful, and a bit spooky, but in a good way.😊

I think it’s really cool how self help and self enlightenment type mindsets are becoming so commonplace now. I remember when thought processes like these were sneered at and look down on. Finding ways to make life as warm and fuzzy for yourself is how I keep suicidal ideation at bay. It’s essential to bring out things that make you feel safe or just bring a smile to your face. I’m a summer girl myself, but in fall a playlist of jazz or folk music, or fluffy blankets, a book, and some baked goods candles are really comforting.

Not only do I redecorate my apartment, I make all my fave fall recipes, listen to fall lofi mixes and watch fireplace crackle videos on UA-cam, paint new mini canvases with autumn designs to hang up in my apartment, light fall candles, buy fall scented toiletries and cleaning products, read spooky books and watch spooky shows/movies, drink all the fall drinks, go do all the fun fall activities, and change my entire iPhone Home Screen theme to fall (including lock screen, background, photo album widgets and app shortcut icons - it takes forever!!) Some might call it extra but I enjoy being extra 😌🍁🍂

OMGOSH! I had those same waffles/pancakes for breakfast today!!!! I am one of those people who lives in a place where autumn's are quite warm, but I do a lot of the stuff you said in this. Making autumn tasting foods, wearing the colours that remind me of this season, listening to music that put's me in a fall mood, and putting many decorations all over my room. I love your guide's cause they give so many useful tips!! And I'm so SO grateful that you put in tips for people who do live in climates where you don't get the colder seasons.

Here are some things I like to do to help me get into the season: I bought the pumpkin vanilla body products from the body shop. I ❤️ anything pumpkin this time of the year. I like to walk my dog when the sun is starting to set and we go to Starbucks and I get a pumpkin spice latte. When I go to sister’s house on the weekends for game nights, I like to wear my Ronald Weasley sweatshirt(her home has ac and it’s super cold). Autumn is the best season of all! One of my traditions is to re-watch the old black-and-white classic Monster movies!!! Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolf Man, The Mummy!!! Just puts me in the right frame of mind in general. :) Drink chai tea is a must--and I switch up the autumn decor and tailor it to the mood of the season. I usually start a new knitting project (my cats have a ridiculous amount of knitted afghans to curl up in) and I start stealing my husband's bathrobe--it's huge, it's soft and it gives me all the happy thoughts!
Love these ideas. Great additions to add to the season. I got a huge can of pumpkin puree from my parents because they didn't need it and so I just keep it in the fridge so that I can make small pumpkin foods in October like pumpkin juice, pumpkin spice latte, and pumpkin mug cakes. When you mentioned a walk in a cemetery, it made me think about how my library actually has a map/guide to all the cemeteries in my county. It is a self-guided tour and the idea of touring cemeteries is completely new to me. Quite interesting.

It's been abnormally warm here in PA these past few weeks (I'm taking consistently in the seventies and eighties), but it finally cooled down a bit today. I went to the zoo with my roommate, and they were having "boo at the zoo." All of the kids were dressed up in costumes, there was a cool breeze, and it finally started to smell like Autumn. Just a perfect day 🍂🐻

The biggest thing I’m doing to romanticize autumn this year is throwing a fall harvest themed dinner party under the stars ❤️ All the food and decor is inspired by the season. Plus we’re having a fire and watching a Halloween movie outside 🎃

I really love your videos, i think its really important to romanticize every season because just waiting for the one season is boring, there is beauty in all of lifes seasons.
some of my favorite fall activities are:
-cooking autumnal meals (Butternut/acorn squash soup, mini thanksgiving dinners, homemade bread, etc)
-baking cozy desserts like pumpkin and apple and harry potter themed foods
-having a harry potter movie marathon with THEMED FOOD, the best
-going for cozy car rides, (solo, with family, or with friends) with the heat on in the car, autumn jazz playlist, and going down the abandoned roads need my house to see creepy old houses, cemeteries, and fall leaves
-read witch/ monster/ vampire/ mystery/ goosebumps/ Nancy drew/ or any autumn books somewhere with a view, such as a river, hillside, pond, indoors, outdoors, or even at a cozy coffee shop or bookshop near you
-amsr or ambience playlist on youtube have my heart (harry potter and halloweentown ones too!)
-candles, pumpkins, hot tea or coffe or hot cocoa
-scary movies, or even thrillers, or my personal favorite childrens halloween movies like hocus pocus
-dressing up for halloween the entire week of halloween or wearing things that make you feel seasonal (boots, cozy jeans, fuzzy sweaters, big sweatshirts)
-tim burton movies as background
-having tarot card readings or candle light conversations with friends or siblings
-pumpkin picking with family friends, or even pets, apple orchards have my heart
-bring a home cooked meal to a relative
- anything you look forward to this time of year
God your videos have inspired me to really get into the seasons and enjoy the little things. Especially as an introvert as well it makes me alone time so much more enjoyable as I am in my apartment surrounded by my fall and Halloween decorations with my fall scented candles and pumpkin cookies and pumpkin spice hot chocolate while I am reading a spooky book.

Being an introvert during autumn/winter is so great because it’s the perfect time for being at home cuddled up with some warm tea and a good book. I love it 🧡

Since my yard, gardens, countertops, pantry, refrigerator, and food dryer are all currently filled with apples, pumpkins, squash, tomatoes, herbs, crabapples, nuts, mushrooms, pears etc., and the leaves are changing color and the wind is swirling everything around in preparation for some rain later, it's hard to get away from fall here. I'm definitely not complaining. I'm living my best life. I'm reading all the gothic and spooky books. Making soups. Drinking teas with rich earthy flavors. Using all my autumnal dishware. We didn't decorate as much as we usually do as we have two very curious young floofs that try to knock over or eat anything new in the house. Maybe next year. We did put up all the outside decorations.
I feel this SO MUCH! I live in Texas, so I make it feel like autumn (some days this is more difficult then others). I always watch “You’ve Got Mail” for my birthday in October. I drink copious amounts of herbal teas. I definitely binge watch Gilmore Girls, & at at work I spread the autumn joy with my preschool class. I’ve purchased a ridiculous amount fake fall leaves and we roll, throw, and jump in the leaves together. The kids absolutely love it, & I look forward to it every year too! Someday I’ll enjoy the real thing, but until then, I’m making it work here in the Lone Star State. 🇨🇱
Something that feels like autumn to me is making a cup of tea before bed and curling up to read one of my comfort books. Absolutely love this season!🍁

There really is no words to describe the beauty of Autumn. The pumpkins, the yellowing cornstalks, the apple and pumpkin spice, the crisp air, the warm and neutral colors, the spooky vibes at the end of October, the thrift-y feel, the warm drinks (hot cocoa is my personal fave), the PUMPKIN PIE, the leatherbound books, the scented candles, the huge amounts of compatible aesthetics (dark academia, dark cottagecore, etc), the thick sweaters, the cozy blankets, the crackling fireside, the scenery (autumn must be Nature's favorite season), the thick, warm socks, the fun movies, the decor...the list goes on forever. I love it so much. I can't wait for Autumn to come around again. Thanks, Desi, for the extra fall vibes!
Fall activity idea (especially if you are an introvert and don't want to leave your home): grab an old blanket, your favourite book and some items that make you feel cozy. Then go on your balcony (or in the living room if you don't have one!) and do a reading- picnic! You could also make yourself a hot cup of tea and eat snacks while you read🍂🦔
We moved from the Midwest to Houston three years ago. We don’t get autumn weather until December and I miss it so much! I wish for Autumn weather year round with a few warm weekends a year to enjoy the beach! 🍁 *sigh* 🍁

I live in the North Eastern part of Europe and we don't have Halloween traditions, but we celebrate the All Souls day. We light candles on the graves of our deceased loved ones, we leave some flowers. Although it may seem for some people a sad day, but for me it is not so. For me it is a celebration of love, because love never leaves us though the ones we love someday will. It is a celebration of love for those who are waiting for us in the fields of Heaven and for those who are with us today. And the sight of a graveyard full of flickering candle-lights in the evening when it gets dark is something worth seeing. I always get shivers down my spine. It is so cozy, beautiful, and a bit spooky, but in a good way.😊

I think it’s really cool how self help and self enlightenment type mindsets are becoming so commonplace now. I remember when thought processes like these were sneered at and look down on. Finding ways to make life as warm and fuzzy for yourself is how I keep suicidal ideation at bay. It’s essential to bring out things that make you feel safe or just bring a smile to your face. I’m a summer girl myself, but in fall a playlist of jazz or folk music, or fluffy blankets, a book, and some baked goods candles are really comforting.

Not only do I redecorate my apartment, I make all my fave fall recipes, listen to fall lofi mixes and watch fireplace crackle videos on UA-cam, paint new mini canvases with autumn designs to hang up in my apartment, light fall candles, buy fall scented toiletries and cleaning products, read spooky books and watch spooky shows/movies, drink all the fall drinks, go do all the fun fall activities, and change my entire iPhone Home Screen theme to fall (including lock screen, background, photo album widgets and app shortcut icons - it takes forever!!) Some might call it extra but I enjoy being extra 😌🍁🍂

Here are some things I like to do to help me get into the season:
I bought the pumpkin vanilla body products from the body shop. I ❤️ anything pumpkin this time of the year.
I like to walk my dog when the sun is starting to set and we go to Starbucks and I get a pumpkin spice latte.
When I go to sister’s house on the weekends for game nights, I like to wear my Ronald Weasley sweatshirt(her home has ac and it’s super cold).
And of course watching your videos helps me get into the season.

Autumn is the best season of all! One of my traditions is to re-watch the old black-and-white classic Monster movies!!! Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolf Man, The Mummy!!! Just puts me in the right frame of mind in general. :)
Drink chai tea is a must--and I switch up the autumn decor and tailor it to the mood of the season. I usually start a new knitting project (my cats have a ridiculous amount of knitted afghans to curl up in) and I start stealing my husband's bathrobe--it's huge, it's soft and it gives me all the happy thoughts!

Love these ideas. Great additions to add to the season. I got a huge can of pumpkin puree from my parents because they didn't need it and so I just keep it in the fridge so that I can make small pumpkin foods in October like pumpkin juice, pumpkin spice latte, and pumpkin mug cakes. When you mentioned a walk in a cemetery, it made me think about how my library actually has a map/guide to all the cemeteries in my county. It is a self-guided tour and the idea of touring cemeteries is completely new to me. Quite interesting.

So jealous of your scenery! Here in Illinois this weekend was the first day it wasn’t like 80! So it definitely hasn’t felt like autumn yet and the trees are still green. Finally the days are cooling off and I’m so happy 🍁

Love all of these suggestions! These type of "romanticize your life" videos are so nice, and your last one was especially helpful since my city was in what wound up being an 8-month lockdown at the time. Taking time to appreciate the little things really does make my day so much better!
