So fun! My daughter who is turning 12 and I watch every one of your videos together. It’s our special time and she gets so excited when I tell her there’s a new Darling Desi! Tonight we ate soup and had brown bread with honey butter and watched! Love everything you recommend as always! Thank you for being beauty into the world and sharing it so joyfully with all of us!❤️
Awww. I want to do that with my sisters someday My three year old brother loves the videos where she is cooking something. He asked me to make some for him like she does. Unfortunately I don't have that kind of skill 😂
Darling Desi can I just say God bless you. I have struggled with who I am for a long time. I felt I was very strange for wanting to feel and live like everyday is spring. I like old school clothing and pastel colors. Sense and Sensibility is my favorite, and I love watching the secret garden all the time. The little Princess 1995 I think you will love. It is a movie and the images that Sarah paints with her stories are so beautiful. I watch it when winter seems to be too long. I stumbled across your channel this week and have not stopped watching. Each time I watch I feel I am remembering who I am. I want to thank you with all of my heart. Keep being yourself. Sending virtual hugs your way.
my favourite series that always gets me in a sunny, bright mood is "the Durrells in Corfu". As the name suggests, this series about an English family is set on the beautiful greec island of Corfu. It has everything i look for: aesthetics, an interesting storyline and the most beautiful character development one can ask for. I highly recommend it for spring to get you in a sunny mood!! (tho i often rewatch it during the endless dutch winter ;) ) thank you for another great video Desi!
I adore that book series and tv show! I think I like the books even more than the show. I discovered it two summers ago and it will definitely be featured in my “how to feel all the summer vibes” video this year ☺️🥰
I just love Desi's videos. As an autistic person I often feel uncomfortable around other people but watching Desi's recommendation videos feels like talking to a friend about our shared special interests 😊🌿🍄
Recently I have been particularly obsessed with Bridgerton, floral dresses and everything that encompasses those springtime vibes so this video hit the spot in the best way. I just treated myself to a beautiful tea-for-one set and some new tea blends, I’m so excited to try them while snuggled up and enjoying your movie/tv recommendations. Your videos are always so lovely and immersive, but this one has been one of my absolute favorites!🍃🌸🍓🧺💐🫖🍄👒
Practical Magic is a wonderful movie to watch as well. It is definitely more “spooky” than the cottage core aesthetic, but the outfits and house is very beautiful. And in general, it is a great storyline. I recommend for anytime of year!
To anyone who loves Jane Austen and loved Bridgerton there is a show called Sanditon. Jane started writing sanditon but was unable to finish it and it has been turned into a show. There is 2 seasons and a third season coming out in 2023. Its set in early 1800s england in the Regency era. The costumes are beautiful and takes place in a seaside town, is so cute. Its not steamy as bridgerton but the looks the characters give off is so... its just so good. Its on britbox if anyone is curious about watching. I think its so underrated and more people should know about it.
Your book recommendations are spot-on! 😍 I always discover new books through your channel. If you haven’t heard of her, I highly recommend Susan Branch’s memoirs The Fairy Tale Girl; Martha’s Vineyard, Isle of Dreams; and A Fine Romance. They’re my favorites-very cozy, beautiful, optimistic. I think you and she are kindred spirits!
YES THE TEA DRAGON SOCIETY!!! The second book “The Tea Dragon Festival” is my favorite so far. I’m reading them slowly so I haven’t read the 3rd one yet. Also I’m SO GLAD you mentioned Beatrix Potter’s Gardening Life!! I’ve never heard anyone mention it before. I love that book!
hahaha princess diaries 2 is literally the film i've seen the most, it was my hyperfixation, and i used to watch it from the moment i got back from school until i went to sleep, and i've always loved the enemies to lovers trope, but omg i had not thought about mia and nicholas being enemies to lovers until you said it, but it makes so much sense that i loved that film so much hahaha
TV show recommendations: 🌸 Emma (2009) BBC mini series version with Romola Garai, a seriously underrated version of Emma. 🌸 Sanditon (2019-) its such a charming adaptation of Jane Austen's unfinished novel! Such a great cast and the sets are very romantic and beautiful.
The Gwyneth Paltrow Emma was the first one I saw so it has a nostalgia to it, however, I prefer this one with Romola Garai. Also enjoying Sanditon. (Except for their torturous cliffhangers.)
The Tea Dragon Society is also a darling little card game !! You pick a dragon to take care of and try to make the perfect day for them, it's so precious beyond words.
Oh! This is such a treat! I sit in my kitchen in a small village by the arctic circle that is sleeping after celebrating Walpurgis Night and now I can celebrate 1 May with fresh bread from the oven, tea and a new lovely video from the most darling Desi! Thank you!🌷
I am a 40 years old woman, with a son in puberty but i discovered cottagecore aesthetics a few years ago and fell in love! I love nature, i am a very sensitive and introvert person and all these vibes make me happy. I LOVE your channel, i'm acting like a small child everytime you upload a new video! Unfortunately, as far as the books are concerned, they are not published in my country! But i enjoy every single thing you say. ❤ You should have waaay more subscribers!
I love that you included a picture book and graphic novel! As a children's librarian I always say that picture books have so many beautiful stories for adults to enjoy. Not to mention the artwork!
I love when you give book recommendations!! It always feels like you’re sharing beautiful little treasure with us that have the potential to become that new comfort read we reach for anytime we need a little boost of happiness! 💚
I am really trying to get back to the seeing the beauty in everything. I am 53 years old going through the change. Its hard to stay postive. I love watching your videos you make me see the sunshine again. I need to avoid social media. You talk about romantisizing its really hard to do that. Maybe its my age and it doesn't seem practical but I will try. Happy to see back and smiling.
All of my life there has always been someone who would negatively say, "You don't live in reality. You live in a fairy tale world" to which I would reply, "thank you." The fairy tale world is a much nicer place oftentimes. You, my dear, Desi, live in a fairy tale world, and that is the highest compliment.
I hope you're feeling better Desi!! Also this video is so nice!! This morning I woke up with the sun shining through my window and birds chirping outside after it had rained all week. It really felt like spring!! 🌱🐄🌼
What a pleasant surprise! I don’t know you were going to post today, but I’ve ever so grateful that you did! I’ve been trying to feel all the spring vibes recently and it just hasn’t been working, the cold temperatures make me yearn for warmer weather. Thanks to you, I’ll be able to feel all the spring vibes even in the cold weather. Thanks for always posting videos that cheer me up! Im glad I stumbled across your channel a year ago!!
I truly loved every second of this video. I bought a big container of blueberries and made homemade jam for the first time to go with fluffy baking powder biscuits. The berries look and taste so good right now, I couldn't pass up the opportunity. I live along the coast so it's not quite warm enough for a picnic, but I look forward to one soon. I think I love spring for all of the happy opportunities it brings coming out of winter.❤💐👗💭📚🎨🧺🏞️🫐🍯🫖
I absolutely love your videos. They inspire and motivate me so much. Sometimes it‘s hard for me to get out of bed, but seeing your videos always make me so happy and inspired🌸🌱
One of my all time favorite animes is called Snow white with the red hair. It is a fantasy romance about this girl named Shariuki who runs away from her old home to this new kingdom and meets a prince and goes to work at the palace as a herbalist. I love all the spring garden vibes it has and the romance is absolutely adorable.
I love Snow White With the Red Hair 🥰 I actually recommended it in my spring recommendations video from last year! It’s so perfect to watch especially during springtime ☺️💗
I love that one too. It is at the very top of my favorites list. If you want something similar with a female lead who not only get romance and tea time under the cherry blossoms watch The Story of Saiunkaku, sorry if I spelled it wrong, it is a great anime. The main character is tricked into marrying a king everyone says is stupid. She is a smart girl and very hard working the kings advisers know she can set the king straight. Lets just say she does more than that. She has many men fighting over her and she gains a position that only men can hold in court. It is romantic and a very uplifting story for any woman who loves loves and loves proving her worth. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Cottagecore youtube channels, books and movie recommendations: - Nekoniwa (UA-cam channel) - Choki (UA-cam channel) - When Marnie was there (you might’ve seen the movie, but it is actually based on a book that is really cozy and heartwarming) - Charley (the girl who ran away), it is by the same author that wrote When Marnie Was There - I am also a huge anime and manga fan, so I definitely recommend Tamako Market and the movie Tamako Love story (I would recommend you to watch the movie after the show), Violet Evergarden, Your Name, A Silent Voice and Summer Wars. + after watching the movie Tamako Love story, I highly recommend the AMV : “potsu - tamako love story” by sunset boy. It will make you so emotional, in a totally good way… Love your videos, have been watching you for more almost two years now :) !!
Hello dear Desiree.... I admire you alot. You have brought lots of positivity to my life. Your videos and ideas inspired me alot to lead a happy, cheerful and grateful life. I watched all your videos and honestly you are soo pretty inside out. Keep going. God bless you and your loved ones. 🙏🏻❤️ With lots of best wishes from India ✨🕊️
As always, the vibes in your videos are ✨immaculate✨ Some of my favorite spring time activities: - going on long walks through the fields/woods - having a picnic with friends - reading books on a meadow - playing romantic pieces on the piano - visiting my grandparents garden, helping them with the chickens and some gardening - go camping for a weekend - going on weekend trips to France - crafting/being creative in general.. crochet, knotting friendship bracelets, paint by numbers.. and turn it into an outdoor activity! 🥰
You are always so refreshing to spend an afternoon with. I love all the ideas and books that you shared today. I wrote down at least three of them today. Thank you for you being you.♥
There isn't spring season to where I'm living, but after watching Desi's video it makes me want to romanticize or imagine that it's spring here ❤ I love it! Thank you so much for always creating comforting contents Desi. I discovered you last year and i have been a fan since then ❤
Finally someone giving Cinderella the cottagecore credits it deserves haha 😄 I loveee this movie so much ♥♥ And Christopher Robin too is very cute ! Love your selection, you nail it everytime ! 🥰👌
I always love your seasonal recommendation lists and love when you include movies, TV and activities as well as books, although obviously, I can never get enough books. I have two spring recommendations for you in case you haven't come across them before. They are both very retro so you never know. The first is the stop motion version of Wind in the Willows from 1983. I was astounded by the artistry of the stop motion and the figures used for the characters and sets. It is easily found on UA-cam if you search for it. The second is the Royal Ballet's version of The Tales of Beatrix Potter. Even if you are not a big fan of ballet, this is a treat to watch. The masks and costumes are just amazing, and the way the dancers move to become the animals is very cute. And while I'm on about The Royal Ballet, their version of Alice in Wonderland is also an amazing treat for the eyes. Just magical. Hope you have a happy spring!
I was very much looking forward to this! Thank you for posting a list of all things Spring to do. I am very much a seasonal reader and watcher, this gives me a new outlook and warms my heart!! Thank you :) my TBR is growing!! ❤️
Hey desi ! Hope you are doing great 😊 I just wanna say that I really enjoy watching videos..It’s a way to escape to another happy little world ..every time you upload a video it just makes me happy 😃 sending my love from Central America 🇧🇿🫶🏼❤️
The movie Enchanted April is a beautiful adaptation…highly recommend for the springtime!! ☀️🌷 I recently rewatched all of Downtown Abbey (3rd time around) and currently rewatching season 2 of Bridgerton. Love all your other recommendations!
Oh Desi, what a lovely video to start my morning to. I love all your recommendations, and I am definitely going to watch the movies you talked about. I baked lavender bread yesterday, and it tasted so good and fresh. I highly recommend it ❤ One more thing I have to say is that you looked absolutely stunning in this video. Truly, you are so, so beautiful. And not just your appearance. Your kind heart and gentle soul shines through in every single video. Thank you so much for being here, Desi. Thank you for being our safe space in this crazy world. You are practically perfect in every way 🌸🌻
I grew up reading "A Time To Keep" because it was my grandma's favorite, and she literally grew up like the grandmother in the beginning of the book, and would tell me stories as I sat on her lap. To this day we still light real candles on our Christmas Tree every year!
I just finished watching Anne With An E, finished reading Gallant and Shady Hollow. I’m now reading Cold Clay and Under the Whispering Door per your recommendations. I’m so excited to read new spring books and watch spring shows
this makes me so happy and calm inside. you give off such a light and positive energy desi, and i aspire to be like you in life. thank you for this little pocket of happiness in my day
I can't believe at 53 how much You have inspired me!! You've helped me bring back the feels of femininity to my aesthetics! I'm home alot and just moved from where I lived for 18 years..raised my kids and have grandkids all who know me to be a romanticizer! You and alot of other cottagecore influencers have brought me back to life! Thank you for your beautifully made videos! ❤
For TV shows, I think Sanditon would also fit in well! It's based on the unfinished Jane Austen novel and the aesthetic is a mix of gardens and beach scenes so might be nice for end of spring, leading into summer
Yes to everything you said about Cinderella! I've enjoyed the other live action remakes and would watch any of them a second time if a friend was dying to see them, but there's something about the live action Cinderella that I just love. Definitely one of my top comfort movies, it's just so magical (at the risk of sounding cliche haha!).
What a lovely ending to a long day. Some book suggestions. Beauty, and Rose Daughter by Robin McKinley are two wonderful retellings of Beauty and the Beast. Rose Daughter is very garden and cottagecore, and Beauty is soooo fairytale and romantic, one of my favorites. And if you liked the book about the gardens/places that inspired Tasha Tudor, you would like Unearthing the Secret Garden, which is written about Frances Hodgeson Brunetts garden🥰 it’s non fiction but I couldn’t put it down
Do you know how much that we as your fans look forward to and love your enchanting visits?! You and your charming videos are like a warm hug.....and feel like home. Thank you Thank you Thank you for all of your hard work.! Have an amazing week to come......sending hugs! 🤗💖💫📚🫖
this video is exactly what i needed it been so cloudy where i live and this cheered me up! also your hair looks so good! anyone who is reading this i hope you have a wonderful spring :)
I only saw Finding Neverland once, and I was ugly crying so hard by the end of it I couldn’t leave the theater for about 15 minutes. Gorgeous movie, but I will never be able to go through those emotional again 😭
Thank you for all the recommendations. I have added lots to my tbr. My recommendation is The Railway Children. Lots of cottagecore vibes and 2 wonderful tv adaptations. Happy Spring!
I always watch The Secret Garden in March, the one with Colin Firth and I always watch Pride and Prejudice, the one with Greer Garson and Lawrence Olivier. This is when I discovered Jane Austen when I was younger. I know it's not considered a good one but I love the costumes, all the gardens, etc. Happy Spring Desi.
Desi, I think you would love The Borrowers by Mary Norton! It was written in 1952 and it's about a family of little people who call themselves the Borrowers because they live in between the walls and the floorboards of an old house and they collect the lost items of the family that lives there. It's about how their daughter, Arriety, gets spotted by a little boy who comes to live there and all their adventures. It's super cute and sweet!
I recommend: Dead Poets society (film). Beautiful story, in a boarding school setting - - I currently live in a 450 year old cottage in Leicestershire but have to leave in summer, so I am soaking up all my last few months here!
If you're into shows like Downton Abbey or Anne with an E I would also totally recommend Lark Rise To Candleford for some spring vibes! It's set in England around 1880 and is about a girl from a small hamlet in the countryside who moves to a nearby small town to work in the postoffice. It has a lovely feel good vibe and is very wholesome. Especially from the second season onwards the warm yellow colours are gorgeous!
I never realized how distinctive Jane's love theme was until 5 seconds into this video here I am with tears in my eyes feeling all the feels That was a great show
So glad you recommended "The Cottage Tales of Beatrix Potter" previously. I've been binging the audiobooks and think I've found a yearly tradition. Spring is actually my least favorite season, but your videos, these books, and an attempt to go enjoy others' gardens (like botanical or city ones) has helped. For anyone else reading this, the audiobook versions of these books are outstanding- the narrator is amazing.
I’ve been watching your channel for a while now and love it! But I’ve never watched right from the beginning…so today I started and I’m actually making a list of all the books you recommend so I can start reading. I’m so excited! Thank you for being so enthusiastic for books..you have inspired me to start reading!
Hi, I just wanted to tell you how much I love your videos and how happy happy and cosy they make me feel every time I watch them. Sometimes, I just don't feel so good, I need cheering up, or now, when I am studying for finals and I need a little boost, I love coming to your channel. You are such a beautiful person, in and out, thank you much for this! PS: Don't exhaust yourself and take care of yourself and your mental health! Love from France!
I remember when are first starting watching desi and I left a comment and I remember being so happy because she replied to me I would also like to say thank you desi you saved my life
I have the Anne book and I LOVE it! 🥰 Anne of Green Gables with Magen Follows and Jonathan Cromby is the best movie I have ever seen and has such spring vibes!!!!
LOVED this video! I'm illustrating and writing my first children's book and had never heard of Tasha Tudor, our styles are so similar :) Thank you for introducing me to her/ her work and all the other recommendations, A+++++!
I love how you stack up your books and place something cute on top, like a picture frame. We have so many books in our home and we've been doing the same thing also for a few years. Some stacks have beenie babies on the top of the book pile.
I've only discovered you in the last two days, and what a delight you are... thank you for this one books, just what the soul needs... got online to source out used copies ( of the ones I could) and now placed the others on my own to read section.. thank you
Whenever there is new video coming I want to cry from happiness 😭 your videos are like a therapy to me and I love to re-watch them! thank you for all your hard work ❤
I agree with so many if your film choices!!! Emma is one of my absolute favourites. 'enchanted April' has also been adapted into a film and its really good as I saw you mentioned the book. It is a children's book but ' a year in the city' is still one of my favourites all these years later with fab illustrations and a beautiful representation of the different seasons xx
Your videos are a breath of fresh air. They help me calm my anxieties of the day in the evening/night. Thank you! They help my mental health a lot. Your vibes are healing.❤️
So many lovely recommendations! 😍 I will bake bread today and yesterday I cleaned my bike, so I will go on a picknic on a next sunny day! Also, my recommendation - if you have a balcony or a garden, plant some flowers and herbs 😊
I've been in a reading lull and these recommendations sound really amazing, thank you for another amazing video desi and we're all so excited to see you feeling yourself again, I hope you're doing fantastic ❤️

I watch with my 8 year old daughter as well. We love getting movie and book ideas to enjoy together. 😊
My 3 year old loves to watch Desi, too. It's fun to have something we both like to watch.
This comment made my day!! It sounds so wholesome :-)
I have a 13 and 7 year old daughter and all three of us watch her and love her videos! 🤗
Awww. I want to do that with my sisters someday
My three year old brother loves the videos where she is cooking something. He asked me to make some for him like she does. Unfortunately I don't have that kind of skill 😂
I wish everyone seeing this to have a lovely day filled with books and happiness 📖❤️💜
☺️💗💗💗
Back at you!

One of my favourite Springtime movies is "Miss Potter", the movie about Beatrix Potter. Lots of Cottagecore and Spring vibes 🏡🌱🌸
I never heard of that film, I'm giving it a try. Thank you 💛💐
Yes thank you for the recommendation. I will watch it tomorrow. (PS found it on Pluto TV)
Omg yes! Really good movie
I Adore that film aswell..glad to hear you like it too..but i like to view it around Christmas time or in autumn.
just looked at the trailer, really looks like something I'd enjoy so thanks!
A lot of the Ghibli movies have always felt very spring to me! I loved them growing up and now I am so glad I can share them with my boys.

- I am also a huge anime and manga fan, so I definitely recommend Tamako Market and the movie Tamako Love story (I would recommend you to watch the movie after the show), Violet Evergarden, Your Name, A Silent Voice and Summer Wars.
+ after watching the movie Tamako Love story, I highly recommend the AMV : “potsu - tamako love story” by sunset boy. It will make you so emotional, in a totally good way…
Love your videos, have been watching you for more almost two years now :) !!

Some of my favorite spring time activities:
- going on long walks through the fields/woods
- having a picnic with friends
- reading books on a meadow
- playing romantic pieces on the piano
- visiting my grandparents garden, helping them with the chickens and some gardening
- go camping for a weekend
- going on weekend trips to France
- crafting/being creative in general.. crochet, knotting friendship bracelets, paint by numbers.. and turn it into an outdoor activity! 🥰
You are always so refreshing to spend an afternoon with. I love all the ideas and books that you shared today. I wrote down at least three of them today. Thank you for you being you.♥
I would definitely recommend any of Janette Oke books!! 📚 📖 😍 Her books are just perfect for any season! 🥰
Thanks Desi . Love these suggestions perfect for now in Australia.
It' more fairy academia though
@@spokeless6419 didn’t know fairy academia was a thing 😅👍

@@spokeless6419 sounds cool ngl haha
@@7997jl ikr 😌
I can tell your dog loves you dearly. ❤
I recently rewatched all of Downtown Abbey (3rd time around) and currently rewatching season 2 of Bridgerton. Love all your other recommendations!
Oh Desi, what a lovely video to start my morning to. I love all your recommendations, and I am definitely going to watch the movies you talked about. I baked lavender bread yesterday, and it tasted so good and fresh. I highly recommend it ❤
One more thing I have to say is that you looked absolutely stunning in this video.
And if you liked the book about the gardens/places that inspired Tasha Tudor, you would like Unearthing the Secret Garden, which is written about Frances Hodgeson Brunetts garden🥰 it’s non fiction but I couldn’t put it down
I would suggest u listen to Bach if u appreciate classical music because it’s fitting for spring- it’s somewhat soft. Handle is another lovely option.
Cinderella stories are my favorite and I have seen that movie every time it comes on
I only saw Finding Neverland once, and I was ugly crying so hard by the end of it I couldn’t leave the theater for about 15 minutes. Gorgeous movie, but I will never be able to go through those emotional again 😭
Cinderella is just perfection.
Thank you for all the recommendations. I have added lots to my tbr.
My recommendation is The Railway Children. Lots of cottagecore vibes and 2 wonderful tv adaptations. Happy Spring!
Oh my gosh! I loved Fairytale: A True Story as a child! I’ve never heard anyone else talk about it. It’s criminally underrated. 🌸🧚♀️🥰
I adore Lark Rise! I actually included it in my cottagecore/spring recommendations video from last year ☺️💗
I never realized how distinctive Jane's love theme was until 5 seconds into this video here I am with tears in my eyes feeling all the feels
That was a great show
You should totally watch Sanditon! It's so wonderful and feel good and beautiful!
I love Sanditon! 🥰
I like how you style your bangs, it suits you that way 🧚🏻
I’ve been watching your channel for a while now and love it!
LOVED this video! I'm illustrating and writing my first children's book and had never heard of Tasha Tudor, our styles are so similar :) Thank you for introducing me to her/ her work and all the other recommendations, A+++++!
P.s. How do you find such beautiful editions of these books?
I love how you stack up your books and place something cute on top, like a picture frame. We have so many books in our home and we've been doing the same thing also for a few years. Some stacks have beenie babies on the top of the book pile.
I smile all the time while watching your videos Desi! they're THAT bright/warm/positive!!

I discovered there’s a picnic at hanging rock series as well. It’s pretty cozy
Really, your dog is just the cutest!!
I always get inspired by your videos!! Thank you so much for sharing them with us!!
Your makeup looks stunning today 🌷 thank you for this warm video Desiree 💕
Juliet Marilliers Wildwood Dancing is one of my favorite fairytale retellings!
Emma 2020 version is such a good movie! I can rewatch it over and over, it’s such a comfort movie! 🌸
i love how right off the bat you started playing the song the romance theme from Jane the Virgin.
Daughter of the Forest was one of my favorite book / set's growing up! I love the Trilogy.
