Video was helpful. I'm trying to keep cats from doing their business in my vegetable garden. So far I am not having any luck. It picks up people and the plant leaves blowing, but did not pick up a cat that hopped the fence 10 feet in front of the sensor. Based on what you said, I may have to place the device 90 deg to what it is at right now. But that is an inconvenient spot unless I strap it to the fence. It's a narrow area with a 5'x25' garden area up against the house. At any rate, I'm not too impressed with it, but I will experiment some more.
My cat has walked in front of mine while I've had the water turned off and I could hear it clicking. Melvin was walking across the "fingers". After the Yard Enforcer was in place for a while, I noticed that Melvin avoids that area.
Great video thanks, lots of information. I just wish there was a way to extend the angle and range of the motion sensor with another sensor. The sprinkler can cover 360 degrees, wish the motion sensor could too. Any way to extend the range of the motion?
I don't know of anyway to make any changes to the range of the motion detector. I didn't mention it in the video, but you can "daisy chain" multiple yard enforcers together.
You are welcome. If you set it up correctly, it is pretty effective. It's the directions that are the problem, not the motion sprayer. Mine has been redirected to keep a ground hog from moving into the underside of my shed.
Very helpful. I have been trying to find a splitter for the spigot so I can also use my hose while also using the Orbit Yard Enforcer. Every one I have tried has leaked. Do you have any tips on what to look for to get one that won't leak or possibly a link to the one you have if you like it? Thanks!
I bought mine at Home Depot. It leaked at the connection between the faucet and the splitter until I added a 2nd garden hose washer onto the connection. www.homedepot.com/p/Orbit-Heavy-Duty-Brass-2-Way-Shut-Off-Hose-Faucet-Adapter-Hose-Fitting-27931/100659310?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&pla&mtc=SHOPPING-BF-CDP-GGL-D28I-028_010_WATERING-NA-NA-NA-PMAX-NA-NA-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NA-PMAX&cm_mmc=SHOPPING-BF-CDP-GGL-D28I-028_010_WATERING-NA-NA-NA-PMAX-NA-NA-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NA-PMAX-71700000104372722--&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwudexBhDKARIsAI-GWYVofE1n-RoyvzVune7Xy-U7vTDKb0Le7RwXGddM4gehtHsSlrTzC3waAiGSEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
Thinking about it a little more, before I installed a 2nd hose washer, I ran my finger on the underside of the faucet to feel for burrs. It was smooth. If it would have felt rough, I would have ran a file on the underside to remove the burrs, then checked again for leaks.
@@Know-How-Now That's another good tip! I have an old house built in the 50s so that's a possibility. That spigot has never been replaced and looks like the original one so I will check for burrs. Thanks again!
My issue is that in the Night setting they will be active at 5-6PM because that part of the garden is in shadow. I wish there was a way to set it using hours instead of day/night. I may have to add a timer on that water line.
How do you troubleshoot the sprinkler when it doesn't switch direction? Mine just moves to the left and stays there. My gratitude in advance for any suggestions.
I have another video that shows how to set it up. Go to around the 3 minute mark where I show how to set up the sprinkler head. ua-cam.com/video/0UEMlrvy3Ag/v-deo.htmlsi=EwRda9GVHqhTKYEq
I have another problem: During the day, the sprinkler turns on at random times. There is nothing (animals or people) setting it off. Any suggestions on how to prevent this? Thank you!
I presume you have it on the day or always setting? Is there any vegetation that blows in the wind? The combo of moving vegetation and the heat from sunlight filtering through the vegetation might do it. Also, something shiny reflecting light back into the sensor would also cause a false trip.

Thanks for the explanations. Now I understand why it doesn't work very well.

Agreed, setting on always and a timer on the waterline is the way to go for you.
