NOTE: sky color banding at first VND car and sky testing caused by camera issues not filter. (Firmware update reset to 8-bit low data rate)

Not having hard stops is a dealbreaker for me. K&F make a more expensive with hard stops I believe? - having used the Nisi TruColor which you can get for a reasonable price from unofficial sources, it's just so nice to use, no colour shift, nice hard stops, quick swap friction system, no vignette and it's good enough to use with photos :)
So you prefer this one to the 3-7 stop one?

The Nisi you have does it include CPL? Hard stops don't matter to me, I simply turn it until it is good. Having up to 7 stops is more useful for sunny environments. I prefer this filter over Haida which has too much color shift and the CPL has more movement when turning VND. The Freewell I personally don't care for cause no Matte box no lens hood and it scratches too easily. I simply don't recommend a VND for photography if wanting the best results. But this for me has less vignette than even Freewell. It is deceiving because as I pointed out where the sun is located is indeed the bright spot and it's obviously unfair of a comparison to the larger filters that were not only 58mm on a 58mm lens. The second 67mm filter is at the studio but I am stuck working out of town for another 8 days. I really really like to have a CPL, just look at how the mountain clears right up and has more contrast pop than without a CPL with VND alone.

@@sparkestudio No, CPL is extra but it includes a 4 stop ND that friction snaps on the front to quickly convert the 1-5 stops to 6-9 stops quickly and a 1/4 strength glimmer glass filter. I don't often find myself reaching for a CPL to be honest but I understand why that would be useful, I may invest in one for the Nisi, but I also would like CPL removable it as it messes with screens and some lights.

@@DigiDriftZone that's cool to have the extra 4 stops. I would have a bit of a concern with all those layers that the image would start to soften a bit much? Glimmer glass? Have you used that with your videos?

@@DigiDriftZone i forgot to mention, I should also be able to friction fit another ND to my K&F for more ND power as well

@@sparkestudio the glimmer glass doesn’t really impact sharpness, it more blooms lights a tad and reduces harsh contrast - I’ve not taken it off my nisi, I like the subtle effect :) and the kit is super high quality, the 4 stop snap on doesn’t have any noticeable change in sharpness from what I can tell. This being a 12 megapixel camera I can’t say for certain though may show up in photos at higher megapixels. My issue with no hard stops is you get an X pattern and it’s not always obvious in sunlight so you have to keep looking at the side of the filter to see if you’re beyond the max marker, not the end of the world but hard stops are a great quality of life improvement.
Not on that 3-7 stops though as you can’t adjust the ND without also adjusting the CPL, I do not like that filter :)
