- According to HTC, smartphones reached an inflection point about two years ago. Innovation is somewhat dead, and it wants to battle that with this year’s flagship. according to the company, 10 is a magical number. It represents the perfect score. The number used by the best soccer players, and more. 10 is about perfection, and that´s what the company sought out with the HTC 10.
During our recent briefing the company explained how its new flagship may look similar to past iterations, but is far from it. Watch our full hands-on video as we discuss more.

they've been working on this phone for nearly 2 years so they basically worked on it while making the m9 and releasing it.

+Pocketnow - In upcoming Review we'd like to see how well the light works for Video in complete darkness (IE: no bright spot in the middle and vignetted edges - the M7 worked well in that regard, for it's day). Don't forget slo-mo testing and one handed Bike riding (carefully).
Also tell us how well it works for Music Videos (with 32-Bit Audio) propped up in a Stand (even a 'Scrabble Stand'), is it a "Multimedia Powerhouse" or not).
Looking forward to an in depth Review.

My M7 works great and thanks to a paper thin clear plastic Case I bought for it my Phone has not one scratch on it.
I bought my M7 outright for CAN$650 (and a month later it was discounted another $100 😐 ) but I see no reason to part with it or have two Phones; I'm unconvinced to upgrade and likely will be quite happy with a Firmware Update (which is now a tiny bit overdue).
IF the '10' had (_real_) dual Speakers and an even better Camera along with an even better GPU *then* the choice would be more difficult. With Sony's recent acquisition of Toshiba's Sensor Division and what is certain to come out before Christmas (to _force_ us holdouts to BUY) there's no way I need to buy the 10.
I do appreciate your newest Review, looked like a bit of a fail for low light and the Battery was barely helped by the Quick Charge, probably the split-speaker nonsense also dissuades me.

used the LG g5 for a week and loves it other than the finish on it. have the titanium s7 edge now which is an absolute fucking treat. this htc 10 though looks really nice as well though....

Its good to see that lot of oem's are actually making the accessories smarter.
I'm just waiting for the review. I want more details about the battery life lasting 2 days, the new boomsound speakers comparison from previous versions, and the camera quality. I love my M8 camera but I don't like when zooming in the quality goes down.

Damn, that looks nice. I love how the software looks very stock, which is always a good thing. I really hope more manufacturers get on that trend, custom skins do need to die.

Yes, this phone is just the perfect 10 for a good smartphone package. The way you describe this phone is like no other reviewers did since you also add some of additional facts such as how this phone survived several drop test. Keep up the good work Jaime!
I'm just happy the boom sound speakers are intact not big fan of the front but it may grow on me, lastly I love HTC because of its sense and this looks beast! I'm ready for May.
Looks like a very promising device, can't wait for a review. If it's good then I'll probably consider getting one ^^The last HTC I used was the HTC HD2 running Windows Mobile 6.5, and that was years ago. I hope the 10 will be great n_n

I have had the HTC One m9 for 9 months it is awesome
...I've had mine for over a year now, and I am very satisfied with its overall performance...The 10 runs even better with Nougat, and I look forward to how it will perform under Oreo... I use the shit out of this handset, and wouldn't trade it for anything made in 2017 - bot even a HTC U11!
It's funny how now people seem to say 'only 3000 mAh battery'. A 5.2inch device should be getting great battery life with that capacity, as long as the SoC and screen aren't battery hogs. The G2 with a 5.2 inch screen and 3000 mAh would get great battery life, here's hoping the Snapdragon 820 is as frugal as the 800 at least...
+Pier Galeone if you get greedy using the phones resources to the max with these powerful devices , they can certainly chew through the battery, my 6p even with 3450 mAh battery can drain fairly quickly at times , i would expect the htc to be no different, but used in moderation it should be ok.

I bought htc 10 and its great.. Problems i have faced is there's heating problem if you continously use it for more than 2hours...
Mine is gold colour but its not that much golden colour as you see in photos...
best thing is its lightning charging... no bolt apps..

At first I was disappointed at the lack of their infamous boomsound front-facing speakers but to be honest I am SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW. I'm due for an upgrade and i was so close to getting the iPhone 6S since Android phones haven't been appealing to me whatsoever since the M8. I quit buying any Samsung devices after the S4 (huge failure imo) and now I'm glad I can still stick with Android. HTC is my bABY and i am EXCITED

It's all about the camera nowadays since every phone comes with a powerful processor already. Can't wait to see what HTC did!
My next phone. Currently have the HTC One M8, my contract runs out next month (May 2016) Been a fan of HTC since my very first smartphone the HTC One X, later had the M7 then my current M8.
I had an htc m8 right after it launched in 2014 and i recently have bought a nexus 6p and seeing htc finally getting it right after the A9 and M9 disappointments makes me kind of happy.
+vexx506 12 ultra pixels! ois on both cameras! QHD! almost stock Android skin! two well placed speakers! comparing the changes that was made from the m8 to m9 and the ones from the m9 to the 10, you could tell it's not a disappointment.. to me at least.

Can't wait to see the full review on this phone 😃 . I really hope the improved the camera on this one . Manual mode / Pro mode is where it's at for me and I really hope they tweaked those manual setting to compete with other phones that have manual mode .

This looks like a hit! possibly more of a competitor than the G5 to the S7. Looks like it's built like a tank! great sized screen, usb-c 3.1!!!!! finally!!! :D :D :D.
I'm sure @juanbagnell is saying "YES!!!!!!! finally" that they finally use that earpiece for something more than just an earpiece, it makes sense and I have no idea why it wasn't done long before.
Cameras look to be on point, and the iceview case is pretty damn sweet! I'd take this over the fragile S7 anyday, but the reviews will tell.

love the front design
Very nice design. I'm an all Apple user, but I have to hand it to HTC on this one. It's a very nice looking phone - one of the best, if not the best looking phone on the market right now. My iPhone 6s looks like a toy next to this one. If they only made a smaller 4 - 4.7" version I'd be tempted to switch to Android. I love that HTC focuses on audio, something more companies should do.

It did look terrible on the leaked images, but I gotta admit, finally HTC has done something right this time. I hope they can recover from their financial crisis through a boom in sales of this extremely well-made device.

This is phone to have this yr. I was HTC came up with something solid and they might have delivered.
Silver + black version looks stunning. There are a few things I don't like though:
1. Bezels are still a little big too big, bottom bezel could be 1mm smaller, side bezels are pretty big as well.
2. Camera is sticking out quite much, more - steel bezel around it seems to be quite sharp. It could've been placed a bit higher. Current position makes upper part of the phone look heavy.
3. Last thing - vertically scrolling App Drawer. It's a stupid, unnatural and inconsistent with home screens. Bad idea Google, bad idea.

It is harder to find your stuff because it's inconsistent, you have to change your behaviour and scroll instead of swiping. In HTC there are no panels, scrolling is smooth, you can easily go too far. Even if there are pages scrolling is worse because it's different than home screens. It creates a mess.

Honestly, the design has definitely grown on me and swaying me away from the s7.

I'd say it's really close, minus the screen size. In a lot of areas this phone trumps the S7 line, definitely better audio experience (which is super important to me, even the included headphones look nice), USB type-C, ois on the front face camera, IR blaster, I prefer the metal build over the glass (don't ever use wireless charging), Software has always been a better from HTC in my experience. I would miss dual window, but N will bring that. It seems like they did a lot of work with Google and minimized the amount of bloatware more so than the Galaxy lines. Plus, they have been a lot better about pushing updates than Samsung. So yeah, Imo, there are a few reasons. Especially if the rear camera lives up to the hype and if the battery performs well too, damn idk man, HTC brought the fire this year. 2016 is the best year for phones so far. Don't get me wrong the S7 Edge is by far the best phone I've ever used.
Joseph Rego Samsung has Samsung pay the camera is definitely better and it has been tested the screen is better and to me the software on the s7 edge is better and no HTC is no better at pushing update than same Samsung USB type c is a pain Samsung has the gear vr and not to mention the battery life is going to be way better on the edge and the edge is also waterproof
I'm gutted to see the end of the front facing stereo speakers. I've always loved them on my HTC devices, and use them all the time, watching TV shows and trailers. The speaker configuration on the 10 seems to be aimed at playing music loudly rather than watching TV/movies.
This might be my next phone. Gonna wait for the review and to see it in person first :)
I've always been an HTC fanboy. yes I said it! the m9 was a let down for me having used their products since the "cingular" 8125 up til the m8. but this right here......aww man it's a must have. credit to HTC for getting off their high horse and back to the drawing board. i can't wait to preorder mine!!!

If the camera turns out better than expected and the battery life is good, I'll pick this up as my second phone.
I Really Like this New HTC 10 and I just Really Hope that they will make a HTC 10 Max like when they did with the M7 .. if they do I'm sure it will have at less 10-12 hours on Screen time which will be Even More Amazing 😃 (Just a Thought and Hope someone from HTC is reading here too !)
HTC seem to have worked really hard on this device. I might get this, the S7 or an iPhone 6S Plus as my next phone.
This may be the first HTC Smartphone that I'm willing to spend money on even though I'm a die hard Samsung Fan.

Nobody Nobody Good for you. I have an s7 Edge but I think this a pretty awesome phone by HTC. ***** The s7 edge fits my lifestyle of travelling and doing business but believe when I say this phone and the s7 are head and shoulders above the competition. The LG G5 to me was a massive disappointment.
On another note, HTC also did very well with software optimization.
