I wonder how many enemies it can pin to walls. Not sure if it will work on heavy types like Barons, Hell Knights, Arachnotron etc.. Unless.. if it rips off a limb and that gets pinned to a wall.. and i'm curious how close you have to be to a wall to get that effect
@@AcidGlow could work like the nail gun in underdogs VR: smaller enemies are pinned down (literally pinned) and larger ones get the nails embedded into them reducing their mobility
I believe the game will start with him finding the Sentinels and end with him getting tricked by the hell priests. The scene with him getting shot into battle is when he gains his God abilities from the Divinity Machine.
I was thinking of they would show the scene where the 2cnd Mother Demon from Doom 64 is the one who banished him from Hell through a portal. That's a short cutscene I'd like to see that would then start you getting captured by the Sentinels.
@AcidGlow I like that. I bet there will be at least a couple of flashback cut scenes. I can almost bet there will be a DLC similar to TAG 1 & 2 aswell. Maybe that will show him getting his 2016 armor and actually trapped then. Hmmm...
I think its highly unlikely because he is described in the beginning as a superweapon used by gods and kings implying that he was already in use and deployed I think it's very likely that this game will start some time after his battle against the titan at Taras Nabad and adoption of his Title of "wearer of the crown of the Night Sentinels." I do believe it is possible for the plot of the game being his betrayal by the priests, but I think it is impossible that the game will end with the collapse of the temple upon him as there are plot holes like the praetor suit that was uncovered along with his sarcophagus being strikingly different than the one in Dark Ages. I think they will leave room for one or two games maybe some comics or something to go in between The Dark Ages and the collapse of the temple. There might indeed be flash backs to the battle of Taras Nabad, maybe even a level that IS a flashback (probably not). A game that describes a civil war amongst the factions of the Night Sentinels and people of Argenta, Priests, and the Maykrs would be cool possibly explaining how the secrets of the World Spear are guarded from evil, I mean, a giant spear though the planet and the Maykrs aren't asking questions?
let's not forget, the Doom Guy was practically superhuman BEFORE he was put into the divinity machine. It says in the codex that the Samur took him to the divinity machine during the fight with the Dreadnought, which looks like we'll be fighting in this game as a big boss fight.
after seeing that shield idk why the slayer, even in god form would ever give that weapon up lol. It has to be destroyed at some point or lost, possibly when they bring the temple down on us.
They could do like an epilogue kind of ending? You fight the final boss, and then there's one more mission where you get led to the tomb to be trapped? Idk just an idea
perhaps we will get a story from that era but slightly before getting put in box/the betrayal gotta milk another game out of it. And i will gladly drink that milk
It’d be cool if the DLCs we get is a another prequel b4 the sentinels and it’s just him battling demons in hell til he reached the portal to sentinel prime or that could be the tutorial part of the game. Well either that or the arena
Iam excited about this new doom game, but uhh... it kinda looks like that running zombie mobile game that has you auto running to the objective while shooting zombies with only left and right as the only thing you can really move by....
The ending to the game may not be exactly 1 for 1 with how to codex portrayed events. Just like in real life, the truth gets embellished overtime until eventually it's more fiction than fact. What was written in the codex may have been a fantastical recollection of what actually happened.
This is kinda why I wish game companies would follow the simple rule of sequential order....Not gonna go back and play games over again to re-read lore, just to play a "newer" game that basically leads up to events I already know.
The games are fun, and this one looks interesting, but this seems like a lot of needless complication. I prefer the older games and their straightforward narratives.
Looking at the comments, this will definitely take place after he locks himself in Hell (D64 ending.) In Eternal, they show us him being found on the sentinel grounds with his helmet. Samur sees his prowess and gives him divine strength. A side note. People were talking about slayer killing a titan. You need the CRUCIBLE to do so. Yes, he can beat it till it can barely stand but to kill it permanently, he will need the crucible. The maykers hear of hell when doomguy mentions it and strike a deal with the dark lord to harness souls. This of course caused a rift between the sentinels following the maykers indefinitely. (Marauders ) and the rest who were like the doomguy not going forth with the maykers plan. The sentinel prime is overrun by the maykers and hell. Samuel says it.
i think it'll start with the doom slayer fighting through hell after doom 64, then ending with the building collapsed on doomguy, before 2016. I also think they should add a dlc after the events of 2016, leading to the events of eternal.
Acid - do you think the slayer NEEDS a mech to kill giant titans? Didn't the slayer testaments talk about the slayer killing the titan with his hands or sword/shield? Thoughts?
@AcidGlow that makes sense. And if you think about it, it's probably easier to develop giant Titan fights to take place in the mech so that your target is similar sized to you in first person perspective instead of creating more icon of sin type fights. Hopefully the slayer delivers the final blows himself!
He doesn't, but it's mega hard to do so without support of equipment cause I believe the first Titan he slayed was actually pinned down with a mech before he could disable it with a Slayer Crucible blade, I think out of convenience he pilots a mech with argent blades to dispatch them quicker. Edit: NVM I forgot that the Atlans were designed and in use only after the demons' siege on Taras Nabad, so yeah uhh he can obliterate them
@kingpiggins292 ya in taras Nabad we see that titan pinned down by the crucible sword in his chest and a crater around it. Doomguy did that on his own it would seem.
Dude, great video. I really like how this one sounds because I prefer something a little more grounded like 2016. The beginning of Eternal was a big turnoff because I punched a zombie only for them to beat the hell out of me.

I think the soul cube might make a return since the BFG no doubt isn't in the game so the soul cube will be the super weapon instead of the BFG. It works especially for the feel of the new game.
Slowing the combat and having it play like halo would be great I’d love to see the tactical blocking and what not instead of a button masher game but also friendly ai this time and not background fights as much? I'm calling it. We will be playing as The Dark Lord before his rise to power in Hell. That will be the big twist and the end will have our Slayer either arriving from the OG timeline to take his place with the Sentinels OR we fight the Slayer we know which ends in an explosive stalemate.

It might end with the betrayal but the dlc ends with the Slayer’s ‘defeat’.
It means glory kills are no more.
Instead we are free to use kicks and other melee attacks.

possibly. If they do remove glory kills, it would be nice to change things up.
