unfortunately my camera was malfunctioning on the first day of the expo. it really sucks cuz i did a super fun black and grey portrait of robert deniro from the movie "heat." day one was also the only day i got to walk the entire expo. i was working the whole weekend so i didn't get any other opportunities to get footage of the show, which was MASSIVE. i also bought around $1000 worth of interesting looking oddities to decorate my shop with. Bunch of weird shit. i apologize for not being able to include the full experience. i'm slowly trying to improve my vlog game. expect better from me in the future!
James Withee - Looking forward to more videos!!
You know man, easy way to pump out some content and grow your channel faster would be to do some regular Q&As, I have a feeling you would be good at it and enjoy it, and I know the viewers including myself would like it too.
Yes! Q&A’s is a great idea.
I need a whole sleeve in patches with work from a bucket list of up to ten artists. Of course James is included.
I want*
@@claudiug2232 I want to need*
Damn dude, your work is sick
Look good but had no idea what I was lookin at
Nice hat💯
Yessss nothing like a good bloody mary on hangover morning (afternoon)!!
I’m not sure if you’ve done a video like it. But I recently just got my first tattoo a single compass on the inside of my bicep. Could you do a video on where to go next looking into a sleeve.
You rock dude! Really digging the content
Great blog, James. I look forward to more.
This is the amount of people who is gonna get a tattoo in 2019
👇🏾
The historical figure is William Penn.👍🏻
James your awesome man! I always come to your channel for tattoo advice. Getting my first tattoo at the end of the month and having taken lots of your advice to heart I think this will be a stellar peice. Keep it up brodie🤙
So glad you enjoyed your stay in our fair city of Brotherly LOVE & Sisterly AFFECTION!! Come again!!😄😄
Loving the content! Could you please speak on what causes ink to fall out of the skin while blowouts are still present? I have a black barbell, and the ink has “fallen out” of spots of the plates on the end making it look patchy, but after watching your blowouts video, I checked and there’s all of the blurring/bruising blowout look you mentioned around all of the plates. Curious what causes the “disappearing” ink now that I know what causes the blowouts.
As someone whose never been to an expo.... you should do a video on them. Like why would one go to an expo over just visiting an artist for the cases where the artist is already in your state.....
Are prices more expensive at expos? What do most people go to an expo thinking? How hard is it to nab an artist
Just a buncha shit im curious on. And i always love your videos
Came across your channel a couple of days ago and sub’d immediately. VERY informative!!
Would love to also to see more Vlogs and videos of you tattooing (with some moments in real time rather than sped up and if possible where you kinda take us through what you are doing in that moment and why). Would be nice to get into the mind of a tattoo artist and really get a feel for the art. Keep up the fantastic work.
James I want to see a video on what type of obligations a tattoo artist has after a deal is struck/agreed on as far as holding up there side of the deal so deposit is paid appointments are kept and artist has started with first needle poke? Should it come out the same?should it be as black as promised? Should it not be hazzy? Should their lines be clean? Spaces be even? No mistakes in the tattoo ECT.... All things leading up to the quality of what was talked about and them not milking the clock for biting off more then they can chew/ or past they're skill level? And what if it's not Turing out how the tattoo should? At what point should you say look it's not Turing out? Should you let the artist keep running with it trying to make it better? And why should the client pay for more if the artist can't deliver what was agreed or promised? Why should a client be at mercy for a artist to run up a clock because they don't have the skill set they say they do? At what point should you back out? Ask for a refund? Let the artist know your not happy? Not have to pay more for no delivery? And shouldn't the artist be confident in the hours quoted? Or price quoted? The client isn't the professional here what steps should they take after the job is started?
Can you do a video on the second skin stuff currently have one on and my tattoo artist said to leave it on for 7 days but I have questions about how my tattoo is doing under the second skin I'd really appreciate it
I am going for my first tattoo at the age of 36... I will be getting the "old" and "new" Pennywise on my right calf hopefully everything goes well.. I am going next Friday for the first session and then a few weeks after to finish. Could you do a video on aftercare and what products to use? I am wondering why kind of different drug store products you can use or should you use the ones they sell at the tattoo shop?
Great stuff your full of great information, you channel is very helpful and a good learning tool. Especially for 1st timers like myself.
Hell yeah, that tat was dope. Steaks making me hungry too.
thanks, it was a tough one. freehanding without any reference is super scary. it is a good way to measure where you're at as an artist, though
Next time you're in Philly you have got to check out Chris Chi's 's Restaurant Seorabol. Cool chill Korean restaurant that has excellent food the chef is Bomb you definitely will love his humor at his food.
I agree with you about Del Frisco's I have been to the one in Orlando and I took four friends there for dinner one day and it was like $1,000. It was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of opportunity and we had a great time, but definitely expensive!!
nice, i didn't know del frisco's was a chain. i'll try to check out that korean spot next time. it looked like they had a lot of koreans in that city compared to others i've been to so i bet they do it right.
When I start getting tattoos should I stick to one kind of style or many different styles or just a couple different styles?
Can you speak on Tattoos of other languages? How you should go into a shop getting a tattoo of a different language
Love what your doing first off, secondly I have a question for you, I'm just getting started in the game and want to know what's the best inks in the game? And wich ones do you prefer?
Is it just me or James is becoming more and more handsomer
Ylan Laus yes!!!
Got a question how much would you charge to reink a hand tattoo
Your art is amazing. Is there any chance you’ll come to Texas this year?
i considered doing the villain arts houston show this year, but heard from a few other artists that none of the shows in texas are good except for a small one in dallas. so unfortunately i probably won't be going to texas until those other shows gain some more traction. if anything changes i'll update my website. all my travel dates are on www.jameswithee.com
Thanks lol.
Reading terminal has a shop with great donuts made by the amish. I cant remember the name but they're definitely worth a look next time you're here.
I tried those Amish donuts. They were amazing
That free hand tho
The Maury sample lmfao.
we watch that show all the time at the shop. hood classic
Man, art museums are always closed on Mondays. I ran into the same problem recently in Austin.
dude it must be a conspiracy or some shit. same thing happened to us in atlanta last year. museum was closed for renovations for a week. just happened to be on a monday, the only day we had time to see the city after that expo
if it happens a third time with another major art museum i'm gonna have a truman show / beautiful mind style freak out
@@JamesWithee haha. If you're ever in NYC, I know that MoMA is at least open on Mondays.
Heyyyyy you're in town?
Have you thought about coming to the Villian Arts Convention in Minneapolis?
i didn't know they had one there. i'll ask around and if other artists that frequent it say that it's good i'll put it on the list. i'm always looking to visit cities i've never been to before
This is creepy but I live in Phoenix and I wish you and I were friends. You seem awesome. I would gladly take you out to eat if I was your client btw. 😅
haha thanks
