I've personally been to all towers in Shanghai, including the Orient Pearl, the Jinmao Tower, the World Financial Center, and Shanghai Center. Forms a great contrast with the Bund with buildings from the last century!
There are more of us who like to climb the currently tallest building in the world. 😉 I started back when the tallest buildings in the world were the Twin Petronas in KL. Then followed Taiwan's 101 Tower and most recently Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The Saudi Arabian skyscraper probably won't stand until 2030, so, according to this report, I will look next to Kuwait in 2030. 😁 In another video, skyscrapers of 2 and 4 kilometers are planned. Even 10 kilometers, but those are not planned until the year 2500, so we will look at them from above...👻
The height of some these, especially the planned 1km tall ones, seem insane to me. Especially in light of the 911 attack, it just seems crazy to construct these; I would feel very nervous working or living in one of them.
But sir , countries where such skyscrapers are constructed have advanced radar system so their airforce is now quick to respond if any such suspicious activity is detected

As cool as they are, there are so many logistical problems with sky scrapers I can’t see them surpassing a certain barrier. The water issues they’ve had with The Burj Khalifa is long and well documented due to having to push water up so far up. They’ll need to seriously overpowered pumps to be able to pull off this shit unless they store water at the top of some of these towers, which will end up causing even more potential structural issues..

Yes, I think anything over 60 storeys or so (experts used to say 40) becomes less economic, not more, due to the space you end up taking up with elevators and such. These are tall to be tall and put their cities "on the map" which might explain why the current race for the sky is almost wholly Asian-Middle Eastern. New York, London, Sydney etc. have no need to put ourselves on the map that way.

@@nonterrestriaI When you "copy" something 300 years later, it's called an homage. When your design looks the same as every other design from the last 15 years, it's a copy.
LOL, it really isn't. They are both clock towers. There are thousands of clock towers in the world, but Elizabeth Tower on the Houses of Parliament is the most famous example, so of course you think any other clock tower must be a copy.
Every building has several hights... By the highest habitable floor, by roof, observation deck, and spire/antenna (as the highest point of a building). I think it can be called architectural hight because it is two different buildings with antenna and without it, if a building become more beautiful with an antenna it can't be cosidered separately from the antenna. You also can compare skyscrapers by the highest habitable floor I think it is an no less important characteristic. I even still don't understand which one is higher by that rate Burj Khalifa or Shanghai tower, I had found different information.
Spires do look silly but you also have to realize that most, if not all of the buildings listed here have a huge chunk of space at the top which are not occupiable. The Burj Khalifa for example, has a really, really long spire that no one can go to (something like 1/3 of the total height is not usable). Because there's no apparent roof top, the spire is not as apparent as One World Trade. Other buildings just have a huge glass shell on the top with no functional purpose only to make the building look pretty. Although not a skinny spire no one can fit into, is still unusable.
Does this make anyone else want to build a skyscraper that has one single floor, ten feet high, and a 1,200 meter spire? It would be the tallest AND most sarcastic building in the world.
the spires of PNB 118 symbolizes the body of Tunku Abdul Rahman as the first prime minister of malaysia When he's shouted MERDEKA with is mean independence 7 times with his hands up Sorry if my English suck ☺️

Some of the tallest proposed structures will never be built. China has implemented a national height limit of 500 metres on future skyscrapers, so the building in Shenzhen will never be built. There has been no work on the Jeddah Tower for more than a year, its 'on hold' status is effectively considered an abandoned project due to finance issues, and that there is no economic case for such a massive building in the empty desert. Shimao Shenzhen Hong Kong International Centre isn't even above ground yet, so I am very doubtful it will ever be over 500m. The current mood in the CCP under Xi Jinping is that the law is the law, and everybody must follow with no exceptions. That's basically Xi's vision of a law-based society, and a departure from the past when you can get away with anything by bribing officials under the table. I don't rule out that height limits may again be removed in the future (just like the one-child law was eventually ended), but that will be long after Xi Jinping.
That Jeddah Tower project, with its 1km tower supposedly anchoring a whole new city precinct full of attractions, looks to be going nowhere fast as of this writing. It's not only in an unappealing, unremarkable spot whose only attraction is the fact it's by the sea, but Dubai stands ready to throw up the Dubai Creek Tower if Arabia builds theirs, just to recapture their "tallest building in the world" title. So both projects sit in a Mexican standoff, waiting for the other to make a move. I think Dubai will feel compelled to stay ahead and Saudi Arabia knows this too.

Love seeing a new upload notification from you
I don’t like when someone tells me to “Like” a video before I’ve even gotten the chance to sit through it. 😂
God I hate spires. One world trade is clearly dwarfed by the 5 before it
Using them just so you can say your building's taller always felt kind of tacky.
One World Trade is a joke replacement for the Twin Towers
The first 7 towers named are basically all the same height or lower than the Sears Tower, which was built in 1973. It is 1354ft (413m) to the roof and 1720ft to the top antenna (525m).
@@nafnaf0 sears aka willis tower is 1450 ft to the roof .
Well, look at the petronas towers

It is indefinite, I hope it ends soon
I see cutting edge technology being used here. Often times that means for a lot of unforeseen issues. Sometimes those problems aren’t caught in time to prevent catastrophe. All very impressive buildings, but the last three scare me.
I'm not playing around with a tower that has to rotate itself to stabilize
man doesn't stop building the tallest tower,, he wants to reach the heavens by high speed elevators,,
It's now lower than all of these.

And im over here thinking how massive the 187m building in my city is, damn😂
Me also 😂😂
The tallest building in my city is less than 100m😂
@@r-series8705 but it looks massive, doesn't it? Now imagine standing infront of these 1km tall buildings😂
The tallest building in my city is 10m
What city bro?
Notice that 7 of these skyscrapers are in China (8 if you count Taiwan).
I think building super high skyscrapers is a way to show off A NATION'S power or maybe it can bring some pride for the people. But the completion sometimes followed by financial crisis.
As a Taiwanese, Taipei 101 was a miracle built on a land with a lot of typhoons and earthquakes. But now, for me, it is nothing but a beautiful landmark which can make our bad looking city, Taipei, looks a little bit better.
@@abulasan agree. In the past showing of military forces was the way to show power.but these days the more higher building you have the more pride you get
@@wa-bp7sg Fashion to the list✌
Yeah ok 🙄
Incredible these global wonders are. I remember watching my own downtown go from a few towers to dozens of skyscrapers with the tallest being 300m+. For my mid-sized city to achieve all this in 20 short years was something to see. Jersey City,NJ.
that isnt an achievement.
@@noitallmanaz it's more of an achievement than gaining 3 subs in 11 years 😂
One would think people would get away from Skyscrapers after 9-11. More interested in seeing Underground Skyscrapers being built.
Re: Antennas. I'm going to suspend a three kilometre long cable from a balloon and say it's the world's tallest building.
The tallest planned building looks like a mess to me.
yeah
more like "Size Comparison of China's Tallest Skyscraper"
China has a lot of tall buildings but the highest are not in China
The Burj Khalifa?
