The Chrysler building gets my vote. The grandeur, the height, the luxury, the art deco extravagance and the detail on the upper façade is stunning. You dont have to be the highest to be the most structurally pleasing building. I cant wait til i can see the Chrysler building in person....sometime... in the near future!!
Went to NYC last week, we tried to go in but were asked to leave. Might have been since it was a monday, therefor a weekday but im not sure. But hopefully its open when you go. From its base its quite the site to see, however its invisible from New Jersey, covered by all the towers.

You need to research your history better. Philadelphia’s City hall, Completed in 1901 at 548 ft was the tallest building in the world until the Singer building in 1908. It’s still the tallest stone building in the world to this day

It's because spires are counted but antennas aren't counted. That is due to the spires being part of the original design while antennas are added later on and can be changed at any time. I still think the height should be determined by rooftop because anybody can make a really short building into a really "tall" building by adding a spire which is just bs
