Great wee machine, I might look into something like that myself, you look like you’ve got it sussed out already, great job ,fab video as always. Colin🏴
Great 👍 bandsaw and addition for frag tank Sam, read comments, it’s going to last for years. 👍 The dip you mentioned, is that iodine based for when your cutting the corals 🤔 a video on you cutting live corals when your ready would be appreciated buddy, happy 😃 fragging. 👍🏴
I'd use RODI myself, it's not a huge amount of water - just a few drips to keep the blade cool. I'd have a tub of salt water hand to put the corals back in when done :)
@@ParkersReef Yes, Once you get going it's a good idea to get a replacement blade to keep on hand. Over the long haul you can replace the wheels too but unless you're going to be using it all the time that's years down the road.
yeah it compares very well! I really like the separate water feed and the drain on the unit, much easier cutting and cleaning. From what I've heard from others it is high quality and lasts well too - which is super important for the upfront cost.
Dead Latistella? Seriously that is so helpful - why BRS don't do an indepth like this is beyond me - anyhow that's why you are the World Champ of Reeftubers. I have seen this - wondered why it's more expensive than the Gryphon (on BRS) but this explains it I think ;) My dream is to require one of these LoL
Amazing video man like always 10/10 although im not gonna ever buy one since I'm tryin and my gaol is not to kill my corals and never managed to grow any
Dont have any experience with band saws. But this looked like it wont last more than a year? I mean not too impressed with the build quality - then again, im only judging by watching this video. Would love to see an update after 6months :)
It's actually quite impressive with how good the quality is. I've even had a few viewers comment today saying they've had one for 10+ years, which is a gold standard in reef keeping in my books
You buy yourself the coolest toys 👌 great upload
Haha thanks mate
Nice Christmas present Sam! Now that you have a frag saw it’ll be so much easier for you to cut your corals the way you want to. 👍
You bet mate!!
Looks like a winner Sam. It will be interesting to see how they go against the Gryphon longevity wise. Thanks for a great product review once again
Thanks John!

Thanks Colin, appreciate it mate!
Super looking forward to getting mine! The frag tank is packed and needs some chopping!
time to get chopping!
Going all “Dexter” on the frags… love it 😂
just gotta stick to the code..... What harry taught us :D
Great video Sam, I’ve got one too and it works a treat 👍🏻
Ah good stuff!!
This looks so perfect for the home reefer.
yeah it really is. Quite a nice small footprint too

I'll be cutting up some corals soon, will drop it as a little mid-week video for you :)
Nice so when is the Sam's frags website being created ?? Or is your lfs going to be your destination for your lovely corals
You will find my frags available exclusively (for now at least) at DeerPark Aquarium. Should have some encrusted enough in the next couple weeks :)
Nice. What Speed You use?
to be honest, even the slow speed cuts through things like butter. Perhaps have to speed it up if/when the blade loses some sharpness
rodi when cutting or tank water??? seems like the fresh water would be detrimental

Surprised you did not own a band saw prior. I bought my DB-100 in 2010. Still working.
Ah that’s good to know, obviously great quality!

Will do, thanks for the tip
Great video sam :)
In your opinion how does this unit compare to the gryphon saw?

Would this be good to cut softies with this - Rics, Rhodactus etc?
You bet, diamond blade is cutting through those perfectly!
С обновкой 👏, спасибо за обзор, на твоих обзорах по танку и оборудованию можно учиться, и ставить в пример 👍👍👍
Спасибо! Я ценю, что вы нашли время, чтобы проверить видео!
Great little machine, just watch your fingers 👍 😀
It’s all good, I have ten of those! 😂😅

haha glad it was useful mate, hopefully you can get your hands on one of them soon!

never know what the future will bring mate. The more you cut them, the more they grow...... :P
Seems like you have done this before, Nice kit.
First time with an inland, it I have used a gryphon before

Glad you took your pants off the line, lol ;-)
hahaha na, leave them there for a show!
400 dollars? It’s cool definitely but good grief man
you can absolutely use (and replace often) a traditional bandsaw if you rather!
