Definitely keep the WW1 stuff. Can’t get enough of the great tutorials. I have this model in my stash and now I have some great ideas for building it. Thx!
My Father modeled as a hobby when I was young. That led to my love of modeling and ww1 fighter aces particularly. Any Hoot, i'm 63 yrs old and have made The plunge. Bought spray booth and No Name cordless airbrush. My first model I'm working on is Moebius Invisible Man. I ordered my Favorite ww1 ace Werner Voss Albatros d111 1/48 Edward weekend edition kit. Your wood technique on Your Albatros will be my inspiration to try and tackle it. Oh, by the way, I Love your channel name Flying Circus Models. Lol Good stuff!
It's never too late to start, especially if you like something. My father made models as well and I really like to play with them and brake them lol... Good luck with your Albatros project, you are free to share photos of your model here in comments
The rigging is amazing 👍, I went and ordered this kit as an introduction back into the hobby after watching your channel 👍 love the Ww1 stuff not enough of it around, cheers🍺
I have trouble with masking tape lifting oil paint. I was amazed to see you use it with no ill effects. Is there a trick to it I don't know? I always let it dry for a week....
A beautiful model. Fantastic work. I'm curious to know why you chose to paint the cowling and wheel covers RLM02? The instructions suggest you do the cowling grey and the wheel covers linen. I can't find any article or picture to prove one way or the other, so was it personal choice or the result of some research? Thanks
Thank you for the comment, according to Ray Rimell's research all metal parts on all Albatroses were "painted a pale grey-green" (c) from the factory. So, I painted them RLM02, which looks a correct color for me, but about wheel covers - I do not remember why I made this choice, to be honest )))
Excellent work and a beautifully looking completed Albatros. To be honest, it would be great to see you continue with the WW1 aircraft....I haven't seen any other channels which concentrate solely on WW1 kits, especially in 1/32 scale which makes yours quite unique. However, if you would prefer to branch out to other genres (WW2 or later) then that's ok too.
Thank you for the feedback, WW1 end other early planes are my favourite, however I have other kits, that I might build in the future, so just wanted to know my subscribers' opinion on that.
I believe model builders avoid WW1 Aircraft because of The Dreaded Rigging. I'll be giving it a go for first time here soon. I'm also missing the end of left thumb. Lol
I haven't used AK paints at all, I really like Mr.hobby paints (doesn't mater water or lacquer based), Vallejo I have only one color - Brown Leather - it's a good paint, however I do not like the bottle shape, it looks like it was designed only to pour paint into the airbrush and it's not very convenient to use a regular brush
One note: The "ropes" on the suspension were actually "bungee cords", which were elastic bands. Those provided all of the springing for the landing gear, so the ride on the field was not exactly that smooth and comfortable.
actually Voss had F.1, but Meng gives Dr.1 late version as far as I remember, so this can be only Roden's F.1. I built it about 5-6 years ago i.postimg.cc/6QY8xQqd/20130421-210911.jpg i.postimg.cc/DZNmmYq0/20130421-211058.jpg i.postimg.cc/zDLF7s2d/20130421-211112.jpg i.postimg.cc/KjgjTrNN/20130421-211253.jpg i.postimg.cc/hhWj1zZq/20130421-211400.jpg
Have a WNW Albatros in my stash. Acquiring detail sub kits one by one.. Experiencing anxiety over the kit's increasing value which makes fear of a blunder delay my start.. this is just a hobby right?
Right, it's just a hobby and, if you feel that you do not have enough skills to build one - do not worry. The main goal is to have fun during the process. P.S. you always can practice on Roden kits lol
Another Impressive Piece! I just ordered the Eduard Albatros D111 weekend edition. And I was going to look into GasPatch Turnbuckles. Have you Ever used them and do you like them?
On Albatros D.111, How do you know Where to drill rigging points in fuselage and wings. Do you just look at pictures and guess or is there some schematics out there somewhere? If there is.....I Can't find em.
When I start a new project, I try to find as many books, pictures, plans, etc. of the plane. One of my favorite reference books are from Windsock production - www.windsockdatafilespecials.co.uk/
Thanks Fella, I'm Nervous about rigging a D.111, so to get practice I'm doing a Eduard 1/48 Fokker Dr.1 of Ltn. A. Raben /Ltn.Hans Korner model#8487 into the 477/17 of MVR. Orderd decals already. Hope there's No Big engineering changes from the two Dr.1s. Are ya Ready? I'm doing the 477/17 ALL RED!!! Lol.
Let me know in comments, what do you think about not only WW1 builds. Do you want to see WW2/modern planes projects?
Prosze o kolejny model WW1 jestem fanem tych samolotów one są poprostu piękne
Yes, Piotr, I will post some more WW1 builds soon (in couple of weeks), so stay tuned ;-)
Definitely keep the WW1 stuff. Can’t get enough of the great tutorials. I have this model in my stash and now I have some great ideas for building it. Thx!
I just thought about a separate album with not WW1 models, and definitely I will keep building WW1 planes

Interesting. Did Not know he flew A cammo green Fokker. The work around the cowling was Excellent buy the way. Very Realistic Indeed.
The rigging is amazing 👍, I went and ordered this kit as an introduction back into the hobby after watching your channel 👍 love the Ww1 stuff not enough of it around, cheers🍺
Thank you Scott and welcome back to our favorite hobby ))
Супер!!! Тоже делал но Д.3й, дерево классно получилось!!
Спасибо, у меня на канале есть видео о постройке D.III (OAW), надеюсь будет интересно
On Vallejo's, l Like those bottles.lol, I'm REAL GREEN in this model adventure and those make pouring, Easy in cup or palette
Gorgeous. Really nice job 👍🏼
Thanks

once oil dries, you have to cover it with future of gloss coat and let it dry for 1-2 days as well
Great tip, man!
Jak zwykle fantastycznie wykonana praca i film , z niecierpliwością czekam na kolejny model BRAWO!!! Pozdrawiam.
Thank you, Piotr

This kit looks as good as any Wing Nut Wings kit...in the final reveal
Agreed, Roden's Albatros line is not too bad

good luck with it
Beautiful model, but did you forget to paint the wing struts?
Thanks, Mark. of course I painted them, the color is grey-green, so it may look like it's unpainted
You must use an electron microscope to do your rigging. Where did you purchase the anchor points for the rigging? Thank you, incredible work.
I bought them on e-bay, try to search Gaspatch accessories, however, I recommend you to use metal ones, instead of resin.
Have you used AK WW1 German Aircraft acrylic paint set and your thoughts please? Also, what do ya think of Vallejo Model paints?
I haven't used AK paints at all, I really like Mr.hobby paints (doesn't mater water or lacquer based), Vallejo I have only one color - Brown Leather - it's a good paint, however I do not like the bottle shape, it looks like it was designed only to pour paint into the airbrush and it's not very convenient to use a regular brush
красивое...прям как рыбов.
спасибо

Thanks for catching that Dave, I just simply forgot the correct name of those cords, when i was recording the video :-)
I'd like to see ya tackle 1/32 Meng Fokker dr1 in Voss colors. Just a idea.
can be one of my future projects, why not...

That'd Cool. Did you do mustache and eye's?
@@slougo5909 no, I did it as Manfred's plane

Thanks, yes I used them on my D.III (OAW) project, I recommend you to buy metal ones
Who makes the metal ones, or do you mean make my own? Thanks for input.
Have you ever thought of like doing All Jasta 2 planes?
@@slougo5909 no, Gaspatch, they have 2 options: resin and metal turnbuckles.
I went to Gaspatch site I see the metal ones. I thought they just did resin. Alrighty Then, Fantastic. Thanks Much Fella
FS did you use some aftermarket bits to go on the outside of aircraft? Or these bits out of box? Thanks again
everything is OOB, except of rigging, instrument decals and some wires

Awesome, however 425 was all red, not 477 😉 and depending on the period had different type of crosses
