- MY LOCO FANS!! I'm going bare bottom!! Taking out all my sand!! Why? I've been having problems controlling my phosphates from too many nutrients in the sand. I rather be able to control every aspect in my tank then have my sand throw in excess nutrients! Find out how i did it and stay tuned till the end to see how the tank is doing now! I flip back and forth between sand and barebottom. If I had took the time to remove all the rock and livestock, I would have painted the outside bottom of the tank an off white color. Of course would have to buy new leveling mat.

I have also sworn off sand
I have rubblt as the substrate and they are easy to move around with the hose when suction out the water when you do a water change

Yes it is 😊.. accidentally knocked off the tip.. moving it to my 22g aquamaxx build once I get the tank

It can but it's also very important to maintain your tank as well
How the modern tank should be.... bare bottom is the future ... sand is old fashioned
I love them both as they both have there own benefits depending on what you want to do with the tank

Definitely lower and much more control over it. Actually at the moment I'm having to feed a little more due to 0 test results for a couple weeks.. in this situation for this tank.. barebottom was definitely a good choice
