I totally agree with everything you mentioned in this video. If she's NOT a Skywalker, that would simply be ridiculous. Your points were very valid. This is one of your best videos yet. I don't get WHY so many comments are made in hopes of Rey not being Luke's kid. The overall STAR WARS saga wasn't just made for us hard-cores. It was made for the so-called "casual" fanbase, since that fanbase brings the most revenue overall. It has been said and repeated several times by LucasFilm. These three films in the STAR WARS saga are telling the SKYWALKER STORY!!!! There's NO WAY Rey is just some "random" force user. LucasFilm has worked SO HARD to redeem this franchise after the disastrous prequels and they wouldn't at this point in time, take a gamble on some "random" protagonist who isn't in some way a SKYWALKER. Think about it.

I've always seen that R2-D2 is also a big clue about Rey lineage. R2-D2 is waking up at the moment that Rey is around. R2-D2 was Padme at first, than he follows Anakin, Lea, Luke and now Rey. It looks like if Luke told him to wait for Rey. That exactly what R2-D2 was doing. R2-D2 + the Saber + similarities = related. Also, we all need someone to carry on the name Skywalker. I think the big reveal will be about who is her mother.
This also ties into Daisy Ridley saying she thought her parent(s) in the film was obvious. I heard many people leaving the movie theater saying " it's his daughter" . Seems like the obvious choice , unless you have any other takers when it comes to obvious? I feel like making her lukes daughter is a good way of getting the audience to care for Rey a lot more, also I dont know if you noticed the comparrison from rey getting tortured by snoke and Luke getting torured by the emperor .

Agree totally... The movie goes out of it's way, on so many levels, to suggest Luke as Rey's father. Going another direction wouldn't be a cool plot twist, it would feel more like an insult, where you could never trust what you see on the screen again. I still think it's possible that she was cloned from Luke's hand, using a different technology from the clone wars, so she grows up normally and lives out a normal life. That would make her Luke in female form, which would be interesting and Luke still her parent... from a certain point of view.
I'm one of the biggest 'Rey is Luke's daughter' defenders but I don't draw much from facial expressions and poses. I don't think anyone really sat down with Daisy and showed her pictures of Luke's face from the previous films and said, 'try and pull a face like that on this shot', or 'grit your teeth' in this way. That would be incredibly constricting for an actor anyway. The parallels between the visuals and scenery from all three films provides more convincing clues because I can see how that could have been written and directed much more purposefully and I think when those similarities occur, there's a reason they're there. However, I think there's a limit to how much detail you can focus on before this loses plausibility

It's obvious that Rey is Luke Skywalker's daughter. But as someone had posted before me: who is her mom? And remember the main episodes 1 through 9 is about the Skywalker family.
I think people got the prequels wrong when it comes to being a skywalker story honestly if anyone paid attention it’s really a Kenobi story that’s why when episode 7 was promoted the said continue the skywalker story basically picking up after return of the Jedi

Also there is a reason there are the episode movies, and then there are things like "Solo" and "Rogue One" - The episodes are supposed to be about the Skywalker, so unless Kathleen Kennedy is being absolutely unreasonable, there is literally no reason to make her random. Otherwise they could have given her a role like how Ezra Bridger has one in Rebels - and Ezra is far less interesting than Rey is.

After The Force Awakens I was so sure Rey was a Skywalker. I just don't feel that way any more. Rey is, in a sense, carrying on the Skywalker lineage. But I think she came out of nowhere to play an important part.
I don't know who she is, but I'm hoping that Rey is not a Skywalker. I was someone who left the theater after watching TFA for the first time thinking Rey was Luke's daughter, but after mutiple viewings I thought it was less likely. I want it to be something that wasn't so obvious and predictable. As much as some people hate it, I would like her to be from nobody. I think it would good message to say that you don't have to come from something to be strong and powerful.
She is a Skywalker. 1 of 2 ways. 1. (Least likely) Reys Mother was dating Luke, he chose to teach Younger Jedi, over raise a family. So Reys mother leaves. With child, And with Luke unaware. This would tie into the OT where when Vader first went up aginst Luke ( death star trench run ) he was unware that he was facing his child. Like Anakin Luke would learn That he has a daughter. 2. (What I believe) They will use elements from the Heir to the empire trilogy, and Rey is a Clone from Lukes hand ( why it was going to be the original open for TFA ) that she was Made by Snoke, and kylo knows about her, and she was taken as a child and hidden. Thus Kylos two reactions. 1. Being "what girl" when learning BB8 had escaped. 2. "It is you" when Kylo is facing Rey. Meaning, you are the escaped clone.
I think there might be something over looked. Rey may be an indirect Skywalker. Just a little supposition: Beginning with one of the earliest concepts for both ROTJ and a sequel trilogy, Luke was to find his twin in the sequel. So, basing my theory on that concept, is it possible that Shmi Skywalker had a brother, sister, father, and/or mother that may have produced offspring themselves? Is it also possible that wheel Lars freed and married Shmi Skywalker that they had another kid on their own that Anakin did not know about? If that is the case, then is it possible that not only did Luke set out to find the first Jedi temple, but he also set out to find other Skywalkers, hoping that the first Jedi temple holds the secrets to berak an ancient curse that seems to be plaguing the Skywalker line.
If the next two films keep to the theme of the saga, and I hope they do, Rey is Luke's daughter. The nine-film saga is primarily about a family, the Skywalkers and their battle within themselves, against the dark side and against the Sith/Empire/Evil. Star Wars = Sky-Walkers, and I hope, when George sold the whole enchalada to Di$ney, he did so with the condition that the saga is completed as it was originally intended. George would do that, I believe. After the saga is completed, I don't care where Di$ney goes with it. More power to them. But to my way of thinking, if they meddle with the theme of these last two films and go off on some twisted tangent, they are destroying the original theme of the Star Wars Saga. It may be repetitive, predictable etc., but that would be fine with me since it is a complete story centered around the Skywalker family and their eventual victory over evil.
Star Wars Coffee, these are great visual observations, and it demonstrates that there is definitely a parallel between the main characters of each respective trilogy. (Cinematography is an incredibly powerful tool in visual storytelling). However, I think it would be too easy to make Rey a Skywalker, even though the primary family in the franchise is the Skywalker family. With that being said, though, Rey, like Luke and Anakin before her, has, indeed, been chosen by the Force to bring about a relative balance. She is a Skywalker in the sense that her role in the new trilogy reflects the role of the Skywalkers, though she may not necessarily be related to them. Just my thoughts. Less than two months before we find out!!
We will find out. Rian rewrote everything and took it to another direction. What we saw in Force Awakens has been changed. I would love her to be a Skywalker. However, like I said in a post post, I reset my expectations and going in as this is a stand alone Star Wars film, with me having no idea about the characters. That's how much Rian changed it. It will be exciting what direction he went.
She's definitely Anakin's granddaughter. I believe she's Han and Leia's daughter, based on the TFA novelization and the book The Art of The Force Awakens. But she could be Luke's daughter also.
It´s quite fascinating all this ruccus about Reylo. How can people be so upset about it? Me I´m for Reylo but I wont perish if it doesn´t happen... All this talk about him being a terrible person who can never be forgiven... Forgiveness is all important actually. Adam Driver portrays Kylo and his struggles to perfection, his anguish and pain...doubts...a horrible struggle inside and no help to be gotten. In an psychiatric world he would be hospitalized and treated, in the legal world he would probably not be hold responsible for his actions due to temporary insanity...regardless of what he has done. In the end we are speaking about a movie and the ones making it... Most of the time it´s money rules and Disney will do what they think will make the most money... Whatever happens I look forward to December 13th... :)
Christina Carlsson I agree! Forgiveness and redemption and internal conflict and struggle have always been a crucial element in Star Wars! Kylos redemption arc would be so interesting to see! I don't get why people are so quick to hate Kylo and desire to see him dead because "he's fully evil because he killed Han". Anakin killed children but he was still redeemed. Also JJ Abrams clearly stated that Rey's parents were not in TFA, but people still like to hold onto Rey Skywalker I guess we'll just have to wait till December.

You know the directors do give actors pictures and info for them to study. I believe both directors from E7 & 8 had Daisy study Luke and Anakin expressions etc for those scenes because she is a skywalker

I hold to you that these are a lot of simularites and ques to Rey Skywalker theory. But I can point out there is only so many ways an actor can express herself and a story could be told and we know that they like to plant eastereggs and missleadings among the material in general and the trailers in particular - So for all we know all this can point towards Rey being a leading lady of the triology and that she had a simular uprise to both Luke and Anakin, the previous heroes of theyre triology. And for all those pointing out that there must be a Skywalker in this triology I can only ad there is already at least one. Luke. Johan.
I think Leah hugged Rey because she knew she looked up to Han and sensed when Han died. I don't think that particular scene is a hint at anything. I agree with you on the rest, however are you worried this is too basic of a "twist"?
There are obvious and deliberate parallels between Luke and Rey, but that doesn't mean they are related. Yes, JJ made some visual callbacks to Luke with Ray in The Force Awakens. That's all you've demonstrated here.
Like I said, I think these parallels are deliberate, and not coincidence. They're using the visual language of Luke Skywalker to draw the parallel to Rey as the successor to Luke Skywalker as the protagonist of Star Wars. But none of that means he's got to be her dad.
Believing that Rey is a Solo is the Star Wars equivalent of being a flat-earther at this point, I really hope and think she's a skywalker, what's the point of a skywalker saga without a main character skywalker?
I'll be crushed if Rey is his daughter. It makes the world so small and it removes Kylo coming back to the light. The only thing that can bring Kylo back to the light is deep love, not the realisation that his cousin is actually alive. Select Obvi it’s only predictable because it makes sense. Even though it is the most predictable outcome, guess what? People are saying she is not a Skywalker which is what Disney wants. They added the element of surprise by not revealing her Skywalker heritage in TFA and made something that should be so obvious, surprising to the audience.
I agree that she's in the Skywalker bloodline but I don't think she's Luke's daughter. I just have seen nothing to indicate that Luke ever got a woman pregnant. I'm led to believe it's more likely that she's Kylo Ren's sister. When the Knights of Ren destroyed Luke's Jedi school I think Luke went to get Rey and separate her from the family to keep her safe and out of Kylo's grip.

For those saying Luke "can't have kids he's a Jedi". Clearly luke has been having his doubts of the Jedi way for some time now. "Its time for the Jedi....to end." Personally think shes another Anakin, and her parents are probably nobody, because who was Shmi before she had Anakin? Nobody. Plus it would explain how powerful Rey is, I cant foresee a descendent of Kenobi being more powerful in the force than a Skywalker, and the Rey Palpatine theory's timeframe doesn't add up. So my logical conclusion is force baby v2.
MegaSheen15 I would be totally ok with Rey Skywalker and think it's fitting. Just a lot of haters. I just would be kinda disappointed if she was a nobody and was stronger than a Skywalker. The whole series is about the Skywalkers and how special they are and I kinda like it, I like the idea of them being special/powerful. Read the original legends novels that came out before the prequel trilogy. Luke had kids and all the books were approved my Lucasfilm via George Lucas. So Lucas thought Luke having kids was ok.

I love that you love Star Wars like me. it's hard to reconcile all the 'reylo' visual storytelling from the force awakens- there are multiple UA-cam posts explaining (Vincent vendetta, Star Wars connection). I do see the visuals you have explained here- you have picked out really good visual cues, but just as with the three buns, two buns and one bun of the female leads, I think your visuals may simply be harkening back to the fact that this is a Star Wars movie and of course jj would have used similar imagery to tell his story in his 'reboot' so to speak. Rey has three buns simply because Star Wars girls have space hair and this was a cute twist on buns that the hair dresser thought of. Also, I don't know your age, you seem fairly young, I'm a grown woman with three children and a husband. The sexual subtext in the interrogation scene, the takodana kidnapping and the snow fight is clear and present. Like, I walked out of that theater with a gigantic desire to see those two protagonists resolve their interactions together. But you may eschew this thought because you haven't been in love yet? Or experienced desire yet? Don't take it personally- and... if all that stuff jj put in tfa comes to a halt bc rian took it a different direction- I will live - but be forever perplexed as to why jj put all that stuff in that made Kylo and Rey seem destined to fall in love.
I agree that there was a sexual subtext in those scenes. It's where the Reylo fans almost have me convinced but I just can't see anything on her side. There is also the Beauty and the Beast references (the camera even focuses on a wilting rose and a bell in Rey's home on Jakku) but I still think the connection will end up familial. I always assumed she was a Skywalker but there are holes in that theory too. I'm mainly confused. I'd be happy if she was a Kenobi. I hate the Palpatine theory and I really hate the 'nobody' theory. It's Star Wars. It's a soap opera in space. There is always some connection somewhere. However, I am probably one of the few people who, while I don't think Reylo will actually happen in a romantic way, won't be upset if it does. I think it's an interesting theory. I wonder if it's possible that kylo had a sister who hasn't been mentioned. Perhaps she's Reys Mom and died at some point. Leia would be her Grandmother also making her an actual Princess

I think you are correct with your guesses. She is either a Skywalker or another Chosen One to balance the Force. There were some rumors she is actually a reincarnation of the first Force user, but I think that is really too far out there. I'm leaning towards the Skywalker as it makes the most sense. The anthology films ARE about the Skywalkers, not the Solo's, Bail Organa's or anybody else, Kylo Ren is not a Skywalker he is Ben Solo, he does have Skywalker blood, but that's doesn't cut it, he is NOT a Skywalker. I don't see Kathleen Kennedy breaking away from George Lucas so much that she changes the focus of the anthology films away from the Skywalker name.
Yes, that is the "shock twist" if she is a Skywalker. That is why the reveal isn't boring. It will have huge ramifications on the bond and trust she had already started to form with Luke as her teacher. Her desire to be reunited with her family and her loneliness and feelings of abandonment are a huge recurring theme in TFA. She could even become angry enough to tick closer to the dark side of things. The reveal itself isn't what is big -- it is the fallout.
The Star Wars Wookipedia says that the casters looked for all races and types of women to play Rey's character. She could have been a black woman just as well as Daisy Ridley. Now, if she was played by a black actress, would you still think she was a Skywalker? No. Therefore this is fucking useless

I've always seen that R2-D2 is also a big clue about Rey lineage. R2-D2 is waking up at the moment that Rey is around. R2-D2 was Padme at first, than he follows Anakin, Lea, Luke and now Rey. It looks like if Luke told him to wait for Rey. That exactly what R2-D2 was doing. R2-D2 + the Saber + similarities = related. Also, we all need someone to carry on the name Skywalker. I think the big reveal will be about who is her mother.

Agree totally... The movie goes out of it's way, on so many levels, to suggest Luke as Rey's father. Going another direction wouldn't be a cool plot twist, it would feel more like an insult, where you could never trust what you see on the screen again.
I still think it's possible that she was cloned from Luke's hand, using a different technology from the clone wars, so she grows up normally and lives out a normal life. That would make her Luke in female form, which would be interesting and Luke still her parent... from a certain point of view.

I'm one of the biggest 'Rey is Luke's daughter' defenders but I don't draw much from facial expressions and poses. I don't think anyone really sat down with Daisy and showed her pictures of Luke's face from the previous films and said, 'try and pull a face like that on this shot', or 'grit your teeth' in this way. That would be incredibly constricting for an actor anyway. The parallels between the visuals and scenery from all three films provides more convincing clues because I can see how that could have been written and directed much more purposefully and I think when those similarities occur, there's a reason they're there. However, I think there's a limit to how much detail you can focus on before this loses plausibility

Also there is a reason there are the episode movies, and then there are things like "Solo" and "Rogue One" - The episodes are supposed to be about the Skywalker, so unless Kathleen Kennedy is being absolutely unreasonable, there is literally no reason to make her random. Otherwise they could have given her a role like how Ezra Bridger has one in Rebels - and Ezra is far less interesting than Rey is.

After The Force Awakens I was so sure Rey was a Skywalker. I just don't feel that way any more. Rey is, in a sense, carrying on the Skywalker lineage. But I think she came out of nowhere to play an important part.
I don't know who she is, but I'm hoping that Rey is not a Skywalker. I was someone who left the theater after watching TFA for the first time thinking Rey was Luke's daughter, but after mutiple viewings I thought it was less likely. I want it to be something that wasn't so obvious and predictable. As much as some people hate it, I would like her to be from nobody. I think it would good message to say that you don't have to come from something to be strong and powerful.

1. (Least likely) Reys Mother was dating Luke, he chose to teach Younger Jedi, over raise a family. So Reys mother leaves. With child, And with Luke unaware.
This would tie into the OT where when Vader first went up aginst Luke ( death star trench run ) he was unware that he was facing his child. Like Anakin Luke would learn That he has a daughter.
2. (What I believe) They will use elements from the Heir to the empire trilogy, and Rey is a Clone from Lukes hand ( why it was going to be the original open for TFA ) that she was Made by Snoke, and kylo knows about her, and she was taken as a child and hidden. Thus Kylos two reactions. 1. Being "what girl" when learning BB8 had escaped. 2. "It is you" when Kylo is facing Rey. Meaning, you are the escaped clone.

Just a little supposition:
Beginning with one of the earliest concepts for both ROTJ and a sequel trilogy, Luke was to find his twin in the sequel.
So, basing my theory on that concept, is it possible that Shmi Skywalker had a brother, sister, father, and/or mother that may have produced offspring themselves? Is it also possible that wheel Lars freed and married Shmi Skywalker that they had another kid on their own that Anakin did not know about?
If that is the case, then is it possible that not only did Luke set out to find the first Jedi temple, but he also set out to find other Skywalkers, hoping that the first Jedi temple holds the secrets to berak an ancient curse that seems to be plaguing the Skywalker line.
If the next two films keep to the theme of the saga, and I hope they do, Rey is Luke's daughter. The nine-film saga is primarily about a family, the Skywalkers and their battle within themselves, against the dark side and against the Sith/Empire/Evil.
Star Wars = Sky-Walkers, and I hope, when George sold the whole enchalada to Di$ney, he did so with the condition that the saga is completed as it was originally intended. George would do that, I believe.
After the saga is completed, I don't care where Di$ney goes with it. More power to them. But to my way of thinking, if they meddle with the theme of these last two films and go off on some twisted tangent, they are destroying the original theme of the Star Wars Saga.
It may be repetitive, predictable etc., but that would be fine with me since it is a complete story centered around the Skywalker family and their eventual victory over evil.

Star Wars Coffee, these are great visual observations, and it demonstrates that there is definitely a parallel between the main characters of each respective trilogy. (Cinematography is an incredibly powerful tool in visual storytelling). However, I think it would be too easy to make Rey a Skywalker, even though the primary family in the franchise is the Skywalker family. With that being said, though, Rey, like Luke and Anakin before her, has, indeed, been chosen by the Force to bring about a relative balance. She is a Skywalker in the sense that her role in the new trilogy reflects the role of the Skywalkers, though she may not necessarily be related to them. Just my thoughts. Less than two months before we find out!!
I want Rey to be the real Leia and Princess Leia Organa to have been her decoy. Now that would be a fun story.

We will find out. Rian rewrote everything and took it to another direction. What we saw in Force Awakens has been changed. I would love her to be a Skywalker. However, like I said in a post post, I reset my expectations and going in as this is a stand alone Star Wars film, with me having no idea about the characters. That's how much Rian changed it. It will be exciting what direction he went.

It´s quite fascinating all this ruccus about Reylo. How can people be so upset about it? Me I´m for Reylo but I wont perish if it doesn´t happen... All this talk about him being a terrible person who can never be forgiven... Forgiveness is all important actually. Adam Driver portrays Kylo and his struggles to perfection, his anguish and pain...doubts...a horrible struggle inside and no help to be gotten. In an psychiatric world he would be hospitalized and treated, in the legal world he would probably not be hold responsible for his actions due to temporary insanity...regardless of what he has done. In the end we are speaking about a movie and the ones making it... Most of the time it´s money rules and Disney will do what they think will make the most money... Whatever happens I look forward to December 13th... :)
Christina Carlsson I agree! Forgiveness and redemption and internal conflict and struggle have always been a crucial element in Star Wars! Kylos redemption arc would be so interesting to see! I don't get why people are so quick to hate Kylo and desire to see him dead because "he's fully evil because he killed Han". Anakin killed children but he was still redeemed. Also JJ Abrams clearly stated that Rey's parents were not in TFA, but people still like to hold onto Rey Skywalker I guess we'll just have to wait till December.

You know the directors do give actors pictures and info for them to study. I believe both directors from E7 & 8 had Daisy study Luke and Anakin expressions etc for those scenes because she is a skywalker

I hold to you that these are a lot of simularites and ques to Rey Skywalker theory. But I can point out there is only so many ways an actor can express herself and a story could be told and we know that they like to plant eastereggs and missleadings among the material in general and the trailers in particular - So for all we know all this can point towards Rey being a leading lady of the triology and that she had a simular uprise to both Luke and Anakin, the previous heroes of theyre triology. And for all those pointing out that there must be a Skywalker in this triology I can only ad there is already at least one. Luke. Johan.

There are obvious and deliberate parallels between Luke and Rey, but that doesn't mean they are related. Yes, JJ made some visual callbacks to Luke with Ray in The Force Awakens. That's all you've demonstrated here.

Like I said, I think these parallels are deliberate, and not coincidence. They're using the visual language of Luke Skywalker to draw the parallel to Rey as the successor to Luke Skywalker as the protagonist of Star Wars. But none of that means he's got to be her dad.

I'll be crushed if Rey is his daughter. It makes the world so small and it removes Kylo coming back to the light. The only thing that can bring Kylo back to the light is deep love, not the realisation that his cousin is actually alive. If he came back to the light because his cousin, who he thought was dead, was actually alive, it would be Martha levels of dumb. I guess our mothers are both called Martha. Select Obvi it’s only predictable because it makes sense. Even though it is the most predictable outcome, guess what? People are saying she is not a Skywalker which is what Disney wants. They added the element of surprise by not revealing her Skywalker heritage in TFA and made something that should be so obvious, surprising to the audience.
It's not supposed to be some shocking reveal (for the audience) but it makes sense for the overall story.

I agree that she's in the Skywalker bloodline but I don't think she's Luke's daughter. I just have seen nothing to indicate that Luke ever got a woman pregnant. I'm led to believe it's more likely that she's Kylo Ren's sister. When the Knights of Ren destroyed Luke's Jedi school I think Luke went to get Rey and separate her from the family to keep her safe and out of Kylo's grip.

For those saying Luke "can't have kids he's a Jedi". Clearly luke has been having his doubts of the Jedi way for some time now. "Its time for the Jedi....to end." Personally think shes another Anakin, and her parents are probably nobody, because who was Shmi before she had Anakin? Nobody. Plus it would explain how powerful Rey is, I cant foresee a descendent of Kenobi being more powerful in the force than a Skywalker, and the Rey Palpatine theory's timeframe doesn't add up. Read the original legends novels that came out before the prequel trilogy. Luke had kids and all the books were approved my Lucasfilm via George Lucas. So Lucas thought Luke having kids was ok.

I love that you love Star Wars like me. it's hard to reconcile all the 'reylo' visual storytelling from the force awakens- there are multiple UA-cam posts explaining (Vincent vendetta, Star Wars connection). I do see the visuals you have explained here- you have picked out really good visual cues, but just as with the three buns, two buns and one bun of the female leads, I think your visuals may simply be harkening back to the fact that this is a Star Wars movie and of course jj would have used similar imagery to tell his story in his 'reboot' so to speak. Rey has three buns simply because Star Wars girls have space hair and this was a cute twist on buns that the hair dresser thought of. Also, I don't know your age, you seem fairly young, I'm a grown woman with three children and a husband. The sexual subtext in the interrogation scene, the takodana kidnapping and the snow fight is clear and present. Like, I walked out of that theater with a gigantic desire to see those two protagonists resolve their interactions together. But you may eschew this thought because you haven't been in love yet? Or experienced desire yet? Don't take it personally- and... if all that stuff jj put in tfa comes to a halt bc rian took it a different direction- I will live - but be forever perplexed as to why jj put all that stuff in that made Kylo and Rey seem destined to fall in love.
I agree that there was a sexual subtext in those scenes. It's where the Reylo fans almost have me convinced but I just can't see anything on her side. There is also the Beauty and the Beast references (the camera even focuses on a wilting rose and a bell in Rey's home on Jakku) but I still think the connection will end up familial. I always assumed she was a Skywalker but there are holes in that theory too. I'm mainly confused. I'd be happy if she was a Kenobi. I hate the Palpatine theory and I really hate the 'nobody' theory. It's Star Wars. It's a soap opera in space. There is always some connection somewhere. However, I am probably one of the few people who, while I don't think Reylo will actually happen in a romantic way, won't be upset if it does. I think it's an interesting theory. I think you are correct with your guesses. She is either a Skywalker or another Chosen One to balance the Force. There were some rumors she is actually a reincarnation of the first Force user, but I think that is really too far out there.
I'm leaning towards the Skywalker as it makes the most sense. The anthology films ARE about the Skywalkers, not the Solo's, Bail Organa's or anybody else, Kylo Ren is not a Skywalker he is Ben Solo, he does have Skywalker blood, but that's doesn't cut it, he is NOT a Skywalker. I don't see Kathleen Kennedy breaking away from George Lucas so much that she changes the focus of the anthology films away from the Skywalker name.

Yes, that is the "shock twist" if she is a Skywalker. That is why the reveal isn't boring. It will have huge ramifications on the bond and trust she had already started to form with Luke as her teacher. Her desire to be reunited with her family and her loneliness and feelings of abandonment are a huge recurring theme in TFA. She could even become angry enough to tick closer to the dark side of things. The reveal itself isn't what is big -- it is the fallout.

The Star Wars Wookipedia says that the casters looked for all races and types of women to play Rey's character. She could have been a black woman just as well as Daisy Ridley. Now, if she was played by a black actress, would you still think she was a Skywalker? No. Therefore this is fucking useless
