    Very good explanation! The 24hr vs. the 12hr movement on the different models is not well demonstrated else where. Excellent, informative, and useful video.

    I've been contemplating whether to buy this watch or not for a week now. And I finally pulled the trigger, thanks to your review! I went for the same version as yours with the black dial and mesh bracelet, except it has the Purist movement. This video was the best "owner's" review I could find on the internet. Cheers!

      That's great to hear it was useful... it's such an interesting watch and the history always makes me grin whenever I wear it. I hope you thoroughly enjoy yours and congratulations of course on the pickup! 😎👌

    You're the first one to differentiate between the chief and purist. Thank you!

    This watch really looks good, but I think if I really had to know the time in two time zones I'd pull a Schwarzkopf and wear a watch on each wrist. Keep up the good work. Your videos are getting better IMO.

      You know that would make much quicker and easier reading as long as you remember which arm is which time zone 😅...thanks appreciate it bud 👍

    Thank you for the great information ! I love the watch. Would you be able to measure the full bracelet length with the watch ? I'm afraid my wrist may be slightly too big for it.

      Somewhere between 22.5cm and 23cm will be it maxed out on the adjustable bracelet clasp - I have it set at just over 18cm for my 17.5 cm diameter wrist. Hope that helps somewhat and thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 🍻... it's such a cool watch with a really unique history 😎🙌

      @@nextonthewrist That's really helpful thank you, I'll give it a shot with my 21 cm wrist then :)

    I’m a bit confused. Does the hour hand on this timepiece go around twice a day? Or is it the GMT-hand? My English is not that good, and I missed the point on this issue. Thanks in advance for explaining, and greetings from The Netherlands!

    • @nextonthewrist
      @nextonthewrist  2 місяці тому +1

      No problem, so on this version in my video the hour hand rotates twice daily - like a normal watch. Just the GMT hand is one rotation. On the alternative 3-hand version, it's once daily.

      @@nextonthewristThank you very much! Now it’s a whole different ballgame, choosing the right watch for me.

    With that large gap between the spring bars and the case, it might look good on a ladder bracelet. Thanks for the review.

      Good call, definitely could work. I currently have it switched to a forstener to add to the vintage feel 🙂 cheers for the comments 🍻

    Thanks for explaining the different models and 24/12 hour distinction. This has been confusing me. The 50 mm lug-to-lug on some models is too large for me, and the 36 mm case on others is too small...I would go for the 12 hour rotation. I love the look, Swiss finishing, quality movements.

      My pleasure - and yep lug to lug can be quite substantial so it's great to be aware of it. Thanks for the comments 🙂🍻

    Always did like the Airman & you covered it well , didn't realize how poor the lume and wr was , i think 50m wr minimum would be acceptable in todays world purist or not .

    • @nextonthewrist
      @nextonthewrist  11 місяців тому

      Thanks appreciate it 🙌 - the WR is so confusing, I only realised when looking back at old pics that the one that I had a few years ago had the 200m...agreed on 50m minimum though.

    The hair , maybe it was a deliberate slap for complaining ? I have the GL0634 Air Pilot from Ashford in beige , the one with a small gmt sub dial , it’s quartz . I guess I bought it as it is “ Swiss made” And was a stonking price , it certainly has wrist presence and seems well made . Don’t like the butterfly clasp though . By the way the lume is ok , lasts the night if charged .

      (Edited - brain fart)
      Hahaha yes indeed drop a pube in to teach me a lesson 😉...nice to hear about yours, I enjoy quartz more and more theses days. The lume on these airmans is terrible, mine are always charged with a uv torch prior to filming. I assume yours may not have faux aged lume in which case possibly a lot better?... regardless it's a different model so I assune they learned lessons from before when they made it 😆 maybe the vintage lume on the airman is period correct haha...

      For me preference between the the sellita (newer models) and ETA (older models) in my book, just ETA don't sell many movements to third parties anymore 👍

    20mm lugs would be better. Why 22mm is beyond me.

    • @nextonthewrist
      @nextonthewrist  Місяць тому

      Maybe due to proportions? Not sure if 20mm might look a little narrow with the style.

    A bit of joke for the price they are demanding plus no excuse for the garbage lume etc, etc !

    • @nextonthewrist
      @nextonthewrist  9 місяців тому

      I wasn't expecting great lume as it's printed, and faux aged so normally a recipe for disaster... I love the watch and when you get the grey market pricing it's hard to find something equivalent... so historically important - with a great Swiss movement. I don't know anyone who has paid retail though, in the same way I pretty much discard seiko retail prices as a distant pipe dream 😆
