I had a 2016 ST. I bought a limited edition RS in May 2018. Still love it and looks far better then all the RS I've seen. Never seen a video of one like mine. MSRP was $48,900.
One thing that I got tired of was the synthetic sound inside the car. Lift up the mat in the back, a little box toward the front left side makes that sound on the inside. 2 cables, unplug them.
Nice car!
That nitrous blue is just stunning
Agreed!
just sold my evo x after 8 fun years , and am picking up my rs in same colour as this vid . excited is an understatement. 6 days to wait lol
Nice!!
update how has it been?
Yeah man any update need a car soon and I'm selling my old lexus and was wondering if its a good replacement
8 months into owning it now , absolutely love it . Really enjoy the looks and ride inc the bucket seats , smiles per miles 😀. Sports mode is brilliant and the pops n bangs are so hard not to do everywhere lol. Love the manual gear box. Gotta drive it properly , old school feel . Highly recommended to anybody thinking about buying one
@@jessejames1999 thanks man, I needed that because everything is over priced nowadays and I found one of these at an amazing price
How does it pull compared to your tuned Ecoboost Mustang you had?
My bad. I thought this was a Mach E video 😂 but my mustang felt just as fast if not quicker. The auto helped a lot.
I just picked up a 2017 same color I’m in love 🤤
congrats!
As a former rs owner I'm surprised you didn't at least get 1 message popping up saying it wasn't happy. Loved it though
Yeah I heard they can be a little iffy reliability wise haha
@@JVette01 My Focus RS has been very reliable as had my 1990 Corvette. The ride is rough but not a problem for me👍👍👍
That’s good to hear that you had a good experience!
I've got one in that colour and I love it....
Nice car!
I'm planning to buy one during upcoming recession, maybe prices will get a bit better.
Me too brotha 😎good luck to you !
@@RunItBackWitLano u too!
These rly haven’t moved in price I’m shocked
@@Supanikaa89 why would you be shocked when the reason is because they dont make these anymore nor do they import focuses to the US anymore either.
going to trade in my genesis for a 2017 one with 21k miles on it super stoked
Exciting!
Bought a black one last week will arrive in the upcoming days :)
Congrats
So did my wife !
Had my Rs for 3 years. It’s been awesome
That’s great to hear!
Have u had any major leaking problems?
@@Supanikaa89 no I havent
Are both the st and rs manuals? Or is there a automatic version?
Both are manual only
In Europe they are manual
I've been looking at these, but the main thing that puts me off is the veering issue. It sounds dangerous (or at least annoying) and you never know if its going to affect your car. it's not even like you can do anything preventative, since no one knows what causes it. Then there is the head gasket issue which fine, there was a recall, but some of the cars still seem to have ongoing issues, and for me its easier to just say no to 2016 models. I'm in the UK and to get a decent RS is about £25k, which is pretty close to GR yaris money, which a lot still have warranties and not to mention they're a Toyota so you know its going to be reliable. Fair enough they're a different size of car but still. I would love a focus RS but ford seems to have washed their hands of them, its like because they aren't for sale anymore it doesn't matter, and I hate that.
I have the focus se hatch 😩
Fun fact: all the se hatches/sedans had the grill from Aston Martin Db body style because at the time ford owned Aston Martin. I personally prefer the se front end style
I've heard a lot of complaints about the suspension and seat and how this car is hard to live with, I mean it basically is a street legal rally car
Yeah the suspension in the race mode is like riding in the bed of a pickup truck.
I can't comment on a 2016, however suspension improvements were made on the 2018s. I just bought an 2018 & it rides well on the street. The seats are heavily bolstered so they will not be comfortable for bigger people. You'd have to drive one yourself because everyone is different & the car isn't for everyone.
I have no issues with the rough ride. The suspension in these cars handles very well. Drives amazing in the rain.
The seats are very uncomfortable in the RS if you a little bit bigger than the average size person the seats are very uncomfortable
I am on lowering springs and I daily my RS. No complaints here on livability. However I am not a big buy. It's not as bad as some people make it out to be. It definitely rides better than my wrx.
Launch control is selectable in the settings menu, and 2018 RS has red ambient interior lighting . 👌
Awesome!
That round thing under the carpet in the trunk, that you couldn’t identify, is the Subwoofer
Thanks!
They have red lights on the doors as well lol
Launch control you missed
How’s the clutch pedal force and feel? T)
Feels good. Has a very defined kick back point.
Funny video. Nice video
Thanks!
@@JVette01 of course. I’ve been wanting an Rs for a while. I’m in a soft suspension now. I’d be back to the back breaker if I moved into this 😂. But worth it??!
It’s so much fun to drive but that suspension takes getting used to. Also, passengers probably won’t like riding in it haha
I PUT A FACTORY RS WING ON MY ST AND I DON'T CONSIDER MYSELF A POSER MY ST KICKS ASS IT'S GOT MORE TORQUE THAN THE RS DOES SO NO WAY AM I POSER
If yours is stock then it doesn't have more torque than an RS. I said people put on RS wings and try to bondo the RS logo so it doesn't look like they're a poser. I never said there was anything wrong with doing that.
@@JVette01 thank you I apologize I misunderstood what you were trying to say and no my St is not stock and one of the reasons why I didn't get up RS is because I don't fit in it very well and I wish I did have all-wheel drive because my front wheels spin all the time anyways I thank you I enjoyed your your video and I'll continue to watch you thank you very much
im getting 1 from vroom, nice to see another vegas local
Nice!
What’s a good price for these found one 2016 17,000 miles for 38,000
That’s about what they go for in today’s market. It’s hard to find a “good” deal. Just pay whatever you feel comfortable paying.
Just paid $42,000 Canadian on a 2018 Nitrous Blue with 65,000kms
If you haven't bought yet, we're seeing some of the best prices since COVID on 2018 models!
Traded my ST in for a RS a few months ago and it’s a night and day difference.
It really is!
More power obviously. What's else ?
@@Kippstonianthat’s it lol
High powered 4 cylinders with turbos dont last long. Really hard on them
to put out 300+ hp for long periods. Would have been better for them to
make the ST and RS as rear wheel drive cars with the 305HP 3.7 v6, 6
speed clutch and 4.10 gears on the rear end. Would be a missile.
Lol. That’s basically a v6 mustang
@@JVette01 True but the Stang doesn't have the advantage of being a hatchback. would be the best of both worlds.
I guess, but hot hatches don’t have v6s lol. Turbos have way more tuning potential anyway for the guys that like modding.
@@dr.zippymcscoots8725 big turbo fiesta ST here making 320hp to the wheels. 100k+ miles with 0 issues
@@stevenlopez1380 bout to say 107k on my e-85 evo x no issue either daily it as well
My mother , she’s blind in one eye and she can shift better than that
Congratulations
Head gasket issues,in order to replace head gasket you have to take the engine apart, and if the mechanic doesn't do it right it will leak again, too much drama just like the shitty wrx box engines.
If you say so
@@JVette01 Do the research, you sound like your ignorant on the problems focus RS has.Im not a hater ,just telling you the truth.
I’ve heard of the head gasket issue..
