    Today I would actually first cook the chicken to get some browning, remove it and add it back at the very end to not overcook it. Have a nice day everyone :)

      Raw chicken breast 100g has 23 grams of protein and 31 cooked. Raw 150g is 34.5 grams of protein not 47 grams.

    Man, thank you so much for this recipe. I really enjoy making this dish about every week.
    I do a few tweaks to the recipe:
    -more chicken for more protein
    -keep the potato skins on for fiber and more nutrients (and to save time)
    and either 1 tsp. of onion powder or 1/2 tsp each of Mrs. Dash Garlic and Herb Blend and Mrs. Dash Onion and Herb Blend, instead of a small onion (I'm particular about onions and my wife hates onions).
    Just thank you so much, Felu.

    This is basically what i´ve been eating twice every day, for the last six months. I cook a lot of it to meal prep 6 portions, so i only have to cook once every 3 days. I cook everything separately though because all of it doesn´t fit into a single pan. I switch up the ingredients to make it less boring - i cook with whatever is currently on sale at the local supermarket :D . The protein source can be chicken, pork, beef, eggs, or even tofu. Carbs: rice, pasta, potatoes, couscous, bread, etc. And then just add some cooked veggies for volume. Also, couln´t agree more on the sriracha, i put that stuff on EVERYTHING.

    Hi from Canada, Felu! Thank you for this amazing looking 500 calorie meal with so many healthy ingredients! ❤️-I just began OMAD (one meal a day) for 5 days and I’m considering adding either 1 500 calorie day or 2 500 calorie days. -Not sure yet about 2 days like this when I’m doing OMAD for 5 days/week. -Don’t want a slower metabolism by too many fasts. But for sure, I don’t think 1, 500 Calorie day along with OMAD 5 days per week, will slow down my metabolism. :) -I’m so thankful for you doing the math on these meals for us! I have about 25-35 lbs to lose and I feel that this kind of meal would help me stay consistent on a Fasting Focused Lifestyle! You rock! :) Sincerely, Mary ...Oh and PS...My OMAD meals are typically Ketovore (meat & veggies, healthy fats, so I feel like a little potato once or twice per week in a 500 calorie meal, will not really matter. :)

    I eat similar as this...I just do not mix eggs with other type of protein, so when I eat eggs I do not eat meat, if I eat meat I do not eat eggs. And no sauce for me. I like to add chickpeas or lentils sometimes. And I do add water, once meat has it crust, it is is tasty and mostly boiled, I like soft meat ..there is two ways to get that - lot of oil or..little oil in the beginning and add water too it. To white meat I like to put salt+ black pepper on one side and on the other salt + paprika, try it, tasty.
    Plus all of that, I do like to cook some things separate, like potatoes separate, veggies separate and meat separate, so leftovers can be combine with other stuff tomorrow, and I like to taste different things separately. Only downside is lots of dishes.

    I tried this recipe but I cooked the ingredients in a different order:
    First I cooked the chicken breast using only a few drops of oil, in order to obtain Maillard's reaction.
    Then I put the chicken aside and added one tablespoon of olive oil, spices, then onion and salt. I then cooked the potatoes and, lastly, vegetables. When everything was almost cooked, I added the chicken breast again and let it absorb the flavour.

I was wondering what your opinion is? I am 75% sure that you would retort that the calories would make it not worth putting into a taco as it's probably 3 pita breads worth but am very curious to hear your response/opinion about bread.

    I don't understand how u add the veggies in last. Every time I do that my veggies are still cold as fuck and taste disgusting.

    • @Felu
      @Felu  2 роки тому +2

      No idea why this happens. You can add a bit of water before you close the lid. the steam will help cook everything faster

    • @Felu
      @Felu  2 роки тому +1

      and don't forget to close the lid after adding veggies. otherwise, it will need to cook them longer and the chicken will dry out

    that used to be my goto meal lol. except i learn that potatoes arent that great for dieting because of how quickly they get digested. i still have them, but in small amounts. like now ill only have one potato in a meal. used to have two.

    • @Felu
      @Felu  2 роки тому +2

      Awesome. I don't know where you have the potato information from but actually, potatoes is the most satiating food that exist when cooked. There is even a study about it that showed a lot of food in comparison and boiled potatoes are nr. 1. Just search for satiety index. I know this because I'm planning a video about it right now and are researching this kind of information lol

      @@Felu yes theyre very satiating but the digestion speed is alot quicker compared to other options like beans, pasta, or yams which i now use more frequently. i use mostly russet potatoes because theyre dirt cheap. but they also have really high gi rating. i believe somewhere around 100. whereas table sugar( which is the base line is around 60 gi rating). so for the same reason it is satiating (absorbed into the bloodstream quickly) may not be the best for dieting. atleast for me anyways. i dont like to eat often. only eat 1-2 meals per day. but is fine in moderation in my opinion.

    • @jelorer

      could be great for people who eat like 6 meals a day.

    Anything I can substitute instead of the onion and it can't be garlic either. Both are triggers for my acid reflux.

    • @Felu

      Onions are sweet so I would definitely use another sweet veg but honestly I don't know which one wouldn't trigger your acid refux so just leave it out. It will be fine without onion :)
