    Felu, i just really want to thank you. I was losing weight for last 3 months, lost 12 kg, but stopped losing weight because i was cheating with my diet. I just could not eat plain vegetables and chicken with rice/bulgur/couscous anymore. So i found your channel, and man, you are awesome. I found out about shirataki, tried your recipes, and i never felt better on diet, already lost 1.5kg using your recipes. I hope you get more views, you really deserve it. Thanks!

    Tzatziki is traditionally made with thin slices of cucumber which you drain so your tzatziki does not become runny.Also you put vinegar or wine vinegar in it to add the initial punch in the flavour.Other than that it looks pretty amazing!

    • @Felu
      @Felu  2 роки тому +14

      I know but dehydrating cucumber is just not something that people will do at home. And instead of choosing between 100s of different kind of vinegar it's just easier to use a lemon

      @@Felu you can just wrap them in a paper towel and squeeze them with your hand. Also if you are making a portion and using it immediately, you don't need to worry about the water content, it won't have enough to start being soggy

      @@Felu oh another thing I do is I kind of cheat with the ratio and add more cucumbers and less yoghurt, which will reduce the calories/fat even more.

    I always loved cooking, but never really put much thought into calories and all that. So as I started to gain weight, I found myself not wanting to cook as often. Randomly stumbled upon your channel, and now not only do I feel like I’m eating much healthier by being much more conscious of my macros, but I’m also so excited to cook again when I watch these videos. Just got done absolutely inhaling a Gyro. Thank you for the videos Felu!

      Being mindful of calories is a key to losing weight and staying fit. Don't listen to anyone who tries to discourage you from counting calories, weighting food or telling you that you are weird because of that. Most likely you will find obese or overweight person telling that.

    • @Ena48145
      @Ena48145 9 місяців тому

      @heksogen4788 Yeah, I dont really think a fat or obese person is ever giving out calorie counting advice. Anyone who is fat knows it and trust me, the last thing they want to do is talk about food or even be seen eating in front of anyone. You are a loon, what are you on about?

    Hey Felu! Made this last night. I doubled the recipee portions and we loved it here. Bread was kinda too salty tho, will use less next time. One whole lemon felt like too much for the sauce too. But excited to try again.
    Aaa my twist was that I used chicken breast leftover from a whole chicken I made the other day. I just put all the breast meat into a bowl with the sauce and combined til it was shredded and smooth. I threw an avocado in as well and it was a super smooth and nice chicken paste. Helped a lot cause breast was so dry and flavorless haha.

    I hear you, about the high-caloric chicken skin, but what about a _rendered_ chicken skin? Once most of the fat has been rendered - leaving the skin thin, and super-crispy - are the calories still so prohibitive?

    • @Felu

      Hi Lau, to be honest I never tried because I don't like the taste of frozen chicken but it will be absolutely possible to freeze them and then add the sauce later.

    Hi, I followed the exact recipe and my chicken and sauce was great, but the pita bread just didn't form properly. I followed the exact measurements, however the dough was extremely sticky and wouldn't form properly in the pan it wouldn't even spread properly and I couldn't flip it. I tried making it twice, but it would have the same result. What did I do wrong ?

      I mean thats every other cooking channel but with some extra protein added. For gyros its super easy. Add the oil to the sauce, keep the chicken skin or use beef/lamb, buy the store bought fluffy pita for the extra cals etc...

  • @dimitriosalexandris4085
    @dimitriosalexandris4085 2 роки тому

    That's a great revision of gyros! May I add that you need some grated and then strained cucumber in that tzatziki sauce and vinegal instead of lemon. Plus, two expert tips: Use no dill at all. Use some chopped parsley mixed with the onion and tomato + when you have put everything in the pita, slap that bitch with some paplika on top. Greetings from Greece :) Awesome channel!

    Der Joghurt von Fage ist recht teuer... Ich kauf den fettfreien griechischen Joghurt von Andechser, der kostet im 400 g Becher hier 1,59 € und hat auch einen höheren Proteingehalt, fast vergleichbar mit Skyr. So als kleiner Tip für das Portemonee. 😁 Vielleicht findest du den ja irgendwo.
