Givi makes some great stuff! Just for fun, in Italian a G followed by a vowel is a "sweet g sound", like "Gee"! (Givi stands for the name of the founder, the pilot Giuseppe Visenzi).
Great review of the Geevi (yes I have Italian heritage) system - just stumbled across this system and your vid is the BEST of any out there. I have heaps of dry bags that I have strapped on in various ways over the years, these might be the answer. Cheers.
Love your candid approach mark👍🏼. Respect for the lack of bs in all your vids. Thank you 🙏🏼. I’m Currently setting up my own sleet himmy for long term exploring with soft bags, Jerry’s and home made racks,I’m also attempting a 8lt fridge and solar panel 🤷🏽♂️😂 with a parachute for a tent🤪. Whatever helps us explore and adventure. 🎣 Hats off to Essendon motorcycles. They Recently did the roadworthy and worked on my bike, I’m very happy! Happy travels y’all.
Hi Mark, I’m enjoying the Himalayan series. Have you seen another channel on here by Joe Ryan? He’s just completed a series on his around Tassie, excellent series
G’day Mark, great review on the bags & setup for the Royal Enfield, can’t wait for the JL metal polish & some bike wash then I’ll be in the running Cheers Mick
The best part is, you can load up a himi with everything you want and it doesn't change it's acceleration! Missus + luggage and still putters along at the same pace 🙃!
Mark, I like the bag concept of a bright internal colour and the pressure relief valve (very helpful). It's amazing how many options are available now compared with a few years ago. The Givi look good quality bags. Cheers! 👍😁
I had been looking for new bags for my 790r and ended up with these after a comment about them on your podcast. I’d looked at lots of options but not seen the Givi setup, these are a great option for soft bags, also the base can be used for smaller dry bags for alternate packing options. Cheers
Hello Mark; Thanks for showing us the gear for the bike, I am entering the competition. Such a good bike, solid, hard working bike that will get you there, not fast but steady. David Cauchi...Adelaide...Tiger 900Gt & Scrambler 900....nice.
is the an issue with heat from exaust as its touching the bag. any extra protection supplied? Thanks Mark, just what i was loking for. i Have 30 litre tube bags and id say they would also fit?
Wasn't quite sure about the 20L upright bags seemed a little small but I carry pretty much the same set up you do and you got everything in there so not bad and keeps you narrow. Good review Mark👌
With those side bags at the back, can you ride with a pillion still, as I am trying to avoid spending $1300 on the racks and hardcases, plus extra on a top box?
Mosko is HEAVY for rackless luggage - This and Kriega OS are way lighter. Also, if you look at the way the bags hang, the weight is pushed lower and further forward then any of the systems you mention - way better for mass centralisation.
How do you find riding off road with a top bag on the rear rack? Could get tricky on a steep downhill in the bush. But to be fair, if a miracle happened and i won this bad boy; I'd probably aim for some longer trips around AUS that were less extreme near the coasts first up 🤟
Not liking the messing about to remove the tank bag at all....does the tank harness not stay on the bike at all ? the Givi GRT715 has the facility to leave the harness on the bike. Never owned a tank bag yet that the base harness does not remain on the bike if you wish to. What a faff that is to remove the straps at a camp.
@@BikerBits I don't have a 'dog in the fight' here, so my opinion is my own and most probably spot-on accurate. You, on the other hand - have sold your unbiased opinion to a sponsor. _Cash for comment,_ I believe they call it. Ultimately, it's none of my business. I do however believe that if that's the path you want to pursue, you should aim a bit higher with an alignment or association with a brand. The Himalayan especially, is not a motorcycle style-type that is at the core of what *Biker Bits* is known for. Its design and material composition are less engineered than most of the twin-shock trail bikes dating back to the 1970s and earlier. Surely... a higher end brand sold in Australia (Suzuki??) is chomping at the bit to get airplay exposure with a local content creator.

@@BikerBits I'm not trying to be critical or appear naïve; quite the contrary. I think you are the hardest working content creator in Australia, as far as motorcycle related things go. It's obvious that your whole life is embedded into it and you give it your all. For that massive amount of work and commitment, I think your subs should be 10 times what they are. What I'm suggesting (or maybe questioning), is something is not allowing you to get traction - something is retarding progression. What I don't believe will help that, is aligning your brand with the likes of Royal Enfield. It's a very small market share name, with quirky products that sit a bit left of centre. After more than 10 years of doing this, you deserve more.
Love your channel .. the bikes and banter.. But those fucking RE things ? Why oh why ? Heavy, shite suspension. Utterly drags the dual sport fun backwards. Just buy something lighter, something newer!! Something specifically designed for dual sport?
I love the way the Himalayan is parked ... it makes it look like the barbeque is mounted on the front end of the bike :)
I love soft bags .. Really nice if you are slow speed technical riding and the bike falls over. Saves many hours of paint touch ups 😁

Not sure if it is or not but the lettering on the bags would be cool if it was reflective lettering at night.

Jet black Color on Himalayan looks dope !!!

This deaf man is struggling without the CC’s, Mark.
I’ll check it out later.
Hopefully they’ll be on then.
👍👌
I just missed out on a fully equipped 2022 model in black, need to keep on looking
That set up looks fantastic on the bike Mark! Price seems to be very reasonable compared to some luggage out there.
Hey 👋- Did you think about the visibility of the brakelight with the dufflebag on the rack?
Fantastic setup Mark, great choice

I have a 790 and was wondering if you left the side panels on with these? Thanks.
Hi, yes I left the side panels on. They fit fine.
@@stevep9999 Cheers. Might have to get some they seem like a great option.
Tucker, a proper toolkit and spares etc would need to go in the front bags but yeah looks like you've got it covered.

Does it hang on well enough? Not sure how just one lower strap will work off road
Hey Mark...what's the pants your wearing?
That's an attractive Givi kit. The harness is a great idea and you can use any dry bag with them
FXD Work pants WP1
that givi rear bag looks near identical to my 40l osah drypac
With those side bags at the back, can you ride with a pillion still, as I am trying to avoid spending $1300 on the racks and hardcases, plus extra on a top box?
I have not tried but I would say no as the side bags run down to pillion pegs!
Try Touratech "Extreme" series... made in Germany by Ortlieb, or by Mosko... or even by ENDURISTAN
I’m a fan of Mosko Moto Reckless ! Great design … but a bunch of pricks to buy from ! Exasperating!

No problem at all! 👍
You could carry everything including maybe a kitchen sink with all that luggage.
Nice one Mark..
annoyed there is no mancave Tuesday
How many litres of capacity each side?
20 litres each side! 👍

@@BikerBits I can see why !

Why do you watch the videos about the Himalayan when you clearly have a personal problem with it?

The bags are fantastic… but put them on a bike with less weight, more power and better suspension! (Shouldn’t be hard to find one !) 😂
Would be fine on a BMW, to expensive for the Himalayan.
Sorry, have to disagree. The base and two 20l bags you can get for around $550. That’s bugger all compared to something like Touratech or Mosko
This is just an ad. Disappointed.
A bit harsh. It’s the most comprehensive video of the system I’ve seen on YT.

You can fix the suspension with Ohlins. They make cartridge inserts and a rear shock.
