Great boat, great mods... I've got a 2004 PT 175... it had a 50 on it like yours. I upgraded to a 90hp jet, added beavertail float pods to help with the weight, a second battery and moved up to a Minn Kota 55 trolling motor. I can sneak into the slough's off the main rivers here in the PNW as that jet gets me across a lot of skinny water. Great Video.
Wow its not often you see a boat with the North American fishing club sticker on it . I had a life time membership but the magazines stop coming after about 10 years and not sure if they are even around anymore lol . Great video and boat is in beautiful shape .
Beautiful ride. One thing to consider when you pull the trolling motor in is to flop the prop off the outer side of the boat. That pedal gets pushed and you're either breaking shear pins, props or at a minimum slicing the pristine rubber pad on the bow. I wish my 2002 looked like that!
Also, with my plastics I use plastic containers and label all of them. I bit easier to locate stuff especially when you’re not digging through bags and bags of stuff. Nice video by the way, thanks for sharing.
I have a 2006 Proteam 175 and had a 3 bank onboard charger installed in the back left storage compartment. Makes for one less compartment but its a plus to have a onboard charger!
I have a suggestion, sell both of those anchors and buy one 30lb lead pyramid shaped anchor, buy a spray can of car under carriage paint( the paint they put underneath your car to protect it, -the same as FlexSeal) to make the anchor last longer and attach a 3’ piece of chain between the anchor and the rope. The chain acts as a shock absorber. You won’t have problems with your anchor holding any more. We use them in the PNW on steelhead and salmon rivers. I would find a better nylon rope also, that kind you have gets tangled too easily, but you want nylon so it will float so when your buddy drops it overboard (he will) you can retrieve the rope or run a crankbait through there with some 65lb PowerPro and snag it.
Love my Tracker :) It's not the biggest fishing boat in WY (Against that damn wind) . But, if you get in when the wind isn't crazy I out fish guys with WAY bigger boats. I love my 1996 Tracker Pro Team 17 :)
Do you still like the micro anchor? Do you spin a lot? Only running 1 pole? I have a 2000 185 PT and fisher river a bit also. Im very intersted in this after knowing it holds your boat. Thanks
hey there! great looking boat!! I did have a question, how long is the boat from bow to the rear of the motor? I'm thinking about getting one and installing a breakaway tongue for indoor storage. thanks!
Looking at one of these right now on FB marketplace. Would be my first bass boat so I'm excited, but also a little hesitant. It comes with a 50 HP 2-stroke Merc, 70lb thrust Minn Kota maxxum, 1 crank and 2 NEW deep cycle batteries (24V setup), on board charging hub, fish finder, boat cover, the trailer has new axle and tires, and it looks to be in good condition all around (carpet, hull, etc.) That being said, the guy wants $8,700 for it. We are setting up a sea test to be certain I'm happy with it and the motor/trolling works well. Being that you own the exact same boat, just a different color, how would you justify/not justify that price? I feel it's fair, not a great deal by any means, but I feel like I wouldn't be taking a huge wash on it, again assuming it all runs smoothly on the water. Edit: I have the money for a newer boat, but being my first bass boat I feel this would be a good entry point.
Personally I think that's a good deal in today's market if everything runs as it should. Bring cash and try and negotiate with cash in hand for a better price.
@@EagleOutdoorsT2EAGLE82 Thanks, I feel the same way, good to have someone else agree. If I really enjoy the bass boat life I see myself potentially selling this in a few years and upgrading and I just don't want to take a huge loss should that happen. Love a good negotiation, will definitely be trying to land somewhere in that 8,000-8,5000 range. Thanks!
I’m glad you mentioned the battery issue, I’ve got a 2010 Tracker 175 and I’m not sure I can get three batteries in my boat. Was the original setup 2 batteries set up in a “T” formation?
Great video! Did you have to run new wire (heavier gauge wire) for the trolling motor. I have a 97 pro team 17 tracker and want to up grade to a bigger trolling motor. I do believe tracker wired my boat with #8 wire from the factory, I just put a recessed ez tray in mine yesterday and it worked out great. Keep the videos coming
The 05 had a stock fuse pannel that I ran everything to. The transducers were easy to run down the length of the boat after rmoving a few screws to reveal where the throttle and shift cables run to the motor.
@@EagleOutdoorsT2EAGLE82 Ok...I haven't taken the side panel off yet, I know the wires go down the side & out the hole. I'm dreading having to do that.
Bass mafia Money bag or a milk crate and stack them or Plano makes a soft plastic bin. LOL THA BASS MAFIA CRANK BOX is the worst thing I’ve ever bought I have one too lol

I actually upgraded to an ultrex this spring and its the best thing ever!
@@EagleOutdoorsT2EAGLE82 very nice. What about all that noise when steering?

I'm currently looking at investing in this very model as my first bass boat and I really appreciated your walkthrough.
This one is actually up for sale. Ive added more to it as well.

Awesome micro anchor. I just got the 170 and will be making some of your mods for sure.

I put an Ultrex on the front this spring and haven't used an anchor all year now 👍 awesome advice though!

Good looking boat
good job young man
have you installed the trolling motor pedal tray yet ?I'm thinking about put one in my 2005 crappie 175
Certainly did! Send me a message on Instagram and I'll send some information and pictures over. Eagle.Outdoors

The 8ga wire is fine for an 80lb tm. 112 requires 6ga
What size rods go in your rod locker? good video by the way!
Did you have any issue with the speedometer pitot located directly beside the side imaging transducer?
No issues at all because they read off of water pressure.
I was talking about the side imaging being affected .
@@bkennedy114 oh gotcha! I had 0 issues with that at all.
Do you know how much gallon your livewell is? Because i want to have one in my tiny boat😁
I'm in an '01. How did you rewire the fishfinder harness & transducers?
The 05 had a stock fuse pannel that I ran everything to. The transducers were easy to run down the length of the boat after rmoving a few screws to reveal where the throttle and shift cables run to the motor.

Where can I find a smoked windshield like that ?
You might have to tint it yourself. The older models more commonly had the tinted shield.
isn't there a built in Transducer on the trolling motor you could've used ?
Yes, but that is a sonar only and the graph was a DI model. Either way I replaced the tm with an Ultrex and the graph with a helix 7 this spring.
How the hell does the live well workM
The battery compartment sucks on these boats. I would like to go with a 6 gallon tank and have the extra room for batteries.
I was able to stack 3 batteries in there fairly easily and without issue. As a tournament angler I can say a 6 gallon tank sould have sucked.
When you can change your batteries to Lithium you will save a ton of weight and space .
Bass mafia Money bag or a milk crate and stack them or Plano makes a soft plastic bin. LOL THA BASS MAFIA CRANK BOX is the worst thing I’ve ever bought I have one too lol
I moved my gas tank into the middle and I have two batteries on each side of the tank.
Wiss can sen
50 hp not enough hp need 75 hp mercury optimax
I would never choose a 75 hp over a 50 hp on a Bass Tracker 175 (or 185).
Not much difference in top speed on those motors. I hit 30mph with my boat loaded down and have 50 Merc, 2000 Bass Tracker 185 PT
