Boxing is great! I am an older gentleman, and I have found myself going to the gym twice daily for a minimum of three hours. I am now trying to correct my faults and learn some combinations correctly. I am now learning to see what is happening and let my hands go. Thanks for this content.
Hey Glenn, thanks for putting up all these very useful vids! I started Muay Thai and Boxing 4 months ago and i was clueless about how to do mittwork for random boxing partners at the gym. At first i was really discouraged because everyone else seemed to know what to do and almost gave up. Then i found your AMAZING channel and you (remotely) have helped me so much to improve my approach, technique and confidence in mittwork. These days, i make a point to watch one of your videos on the tube to the gym to get me all revved up, Thanks again Glenn!
A question, does hitting heavy shots on mitts and using cables w handles as resistance throwing heavy punches in the air effectively replace the heavy bag heavy blows? I am thinking hand wear and hand damage here, so using heavy bag for fast snappy punches only, like the mitts in this clip, is that a good idea? I do not have any hand injuries but hear that many boxers do get them.
hard to work power shots without actually hitting the bag, body needs to get used to that impact and joints / tendons will become more robust over time, as long as your nutrition & mobility are point, handwrapping is good, quality of gloves are good, technique is good, should be fine
@@GlennHolmesLA So how come so many pro boxers complain about hand injuries? Is it in competition and sparring they get injured or is it the cummulative effect from training too hard on heavy bags?
