Animal Skull Carving

- Enjoy this short video of my very first attempt in skull carving art!
To be honest choosing a giant animal such as a buffalo as my first attempt in skull craving may have been a poor choice, I think learning on something a bit small such as a deer, coyote or even rabbit may of been a smarted decisions. I also wish I took a bit more time in the design stage, I feel the final product has a bit of a cluttered feel to it. All in all I am very satisfied with the outcome and I know I will be able to learn from this one to create an even better one next time.
Tools:
Dermel- mostly used a tile cutting bit. (I found that this removed the most amount of material in the shortest amount of time.) I also used a very small round bit for some of the more detailed areas.
Drill- standard cordless drill with various sizes of bits.
Tub and tile epoxy paint for even white coat.
3/8" burlap rope and hot glue to cover the horns

Spraying hairspray onto your pencil lines will prevent them from smudging when you grinding. Awesome work. Rock on.
Thank you and thanks for the tip I appreciate that!

It's awesome ❤️
that looks amazing especially for your 1st try???? ive been dying to try this but never can find out what bits they are using!!!! so a tile cutting bit??? THANK U!!!!!
I found tile cutting bites worked the best, but I just recommend trial and error its the best way to learn. Thank you so much for your comment, it means a lot !
Gorgeous!
Thank you, you made my day !
@@project.prototype you deserve the praise 👏
Hi. It's beautiful . Please can you help me with the machines used for this? I would love to learn. This work what you have did truly inspired.
Oh you made my day ! The main tool I used was a Dremel with various different tile cutting bits. I recommend just to experiment and find what works best for you. Best of luck !
Wow
Очеееееееееень красиво. Вы очень талантливы
Amazing so beautiful I’d bye this how long did it take you?
Ive done two head and believe me its not easier 😅 wish i could find a buffalo or a bull with horn, i did a deer and a small bear, not much place for nice design but im happy with it
Yah they aren't easy! That's the first one I've done and it took along time! Do you have somewhere I can see your work ?
Hi, i would like to know how do i get rid of bad smells after cleaning proces? Specially teeth and its around smells.
super
Belloooo.. tengo uno necesitaria hacer ese trabajo o que alguien lo haga.. los escucho
Great work. Really loved that. How can I get the basic tools. I don't think I can find it in pakistan. I mean which tool kit to order, online.
Hey, I'm glad you liked it ! The tools you need are pretty basic and I'm sure you can find them almost anywhere. If not you can find them online easily. You will need a dremel and tile cutting bits for the dremel I found work best !
SOOOO AMAZING! DID YOU HAVE TO USE A MASK TO KEEP FROM BREATHING IN THE BONE DUST?
Hey, thanks so much. Yah I definitely did i wouldn't want to breath to much of that stuff in.
Where do u get ur burs? This is amazing! I have a skull and would love to try some little designs. Do u wax ur burs? Thank u for sharing ur amazing creation!
Thanks for the kind words ! I believe you can get the burs from almost any hardware store. I found tile cutting burs seem to work the best !!
Great job!!! How easy is it to snap the bone while you are drilling?
Oh thank you. Actually very difficult most areas of the Buffalo skull are very thick so there was no need to worry.
Would it be doable to carve smaller skulls like raccoons, rabbits and groundhogs, or would they break? I'm thinking about starting to carve some skulls, but I find most of mine in the woods.
I've seen people carve smaller skulls like racoon and rabbit I imagine they are more brittle so you'll have to use smaller tools and be more delicate but I'm sure it would be great practice 👌
@@project.prototype okay, thanks
I want to make a guitar with the skull of a cow but I don't know if it will resist the friction of the neck with the strings, what do you say?
I think it would be really difficult to support the neck in a way that could handle the tension. Not saying its impossible but may need a custom steel structure to adapt the two.

Where you are sell your art work??????
I just did it for fun. But im glad you think its good enough to be worth money, thank you
I have a really nice horse skull, I’ll pay for shipping to and from if you want to use it to make a video. Any design you want on it.
We know how difficult is to get your hands on authentic Cow Skulls that include horns. Contact us for cow skull supply. We ship all over the US.
How much are the cow skulls?
How do you do this without the smell
I haven't found a solution for that yet. A half face mask helps a bit. You could try putting something that smells good inside the mask so you breath that instead.
I wish to purchase 2 carved cow skulls from you. Can you please contact me ASAP to discuss the design/s to get the ball rolling?
Udah kambing di tambah sapi. Semuanya serba setan . Kalo mahal
The rope around the horns ruined it. :(
Yah I know where you are coming from. I was a bit over how real it was after working for it so long I wanted to try and make it not so "real" at the end. Thanks for your opinion!
