Why the hell would you bolt it through the rubber mat and not just cut out holes for the legs to drop into so it's actually bolted to a secure, firm surface? Obviously the average Joe is going to think that's fine and probably have no real "issues" but there's no questioning there's going to be more sway and instability than the same rig bolted direct to concrete
If you can't get concrete screws in fairly easily (e.g. less than 50 ft lbs), then back the screw out, make sure you've drilled the anchor depth + 1/2" and ensure the hole is cleaned out - then try again. Otherwise, you may break the bolt.
Shouldn’t you make sure the rack is square, then mark the holes for drilling? Also what about vacuuming up the concrete dust out of the holes before installing each of the anchor bolts?
I am very new to this but looking at installing one in my garage. What is the risk of hitting rebar? I’m worried I would have to move the entire rig and drill additional holes if I did. Is this a valid concern or am I missing something. Thanks!
I'm maintenance at the factory I work at. I've been tasked with somehow mounting racks this way... but those support beams near the bottom are welded in place and the racks are massive and full of product already. I'm stumped to say the least. So far I have about zero budget and even just the bolts will cost around $300 for the project. Ughhhh
Over kill if you ask me. A big rack doesnt even need to be bolted down but the bolts you put in first would have been way more than enough. But hey whatever
Anyone else focused on what tools that homeowner has in the corner? 🤣. Job well done as always on these installs 🤓👍
You should be able to put the anchor bolts in with most impact drill driver just take a little longer than an impact wrench
Great job and thanks for sharing. Your customer has a nice setup. The Frrrreeeak!

Hey Marius, off topic, did you get the 2 free batteries promo with your Makita recip saw if you bought it at Home Depot? Tool only promo
I did not. The price dropped to $149 for the bare tool but no free batteries.
