Eucalyptus was used extensively in Australian houses till soft wood (pine) became easier to source. You are doing the right thing, cut green, store correctly and it will last for ages in your barn. Also treat to keep the worm out. It will last for ages.
I think you should put your building further back on the higher ground where you have the bricks stacked. It looks like you may have exposed a small spring.
I would highly recommend you try to find an “A Frame type Extension Ladder that is adjustable to extend up to 9ft, or you can open it up into a straight extension ladder, which is much safer and easier to work off of, and when down in the A Frame configuration 2 people can be on it, 1 on each side of the ladder ! Well worth the money if you can find one in your area..
As long as once you pour the footings, make sure those are above where the standing water is appearing now. and than just add fill to build up that area to make sure that where the building and the entrance has run off away from that low spot after you add fill . including the driveway into the new building
Yes can build in water but it will soak into the blocks, and any render, in winter that will freeze and blow, can you use wood and build on stilts (piles) if you use the trees you cut today they are resistant to the water ie wood rot.. you could also use block n beam suspended on pillars, take care you two..
It looks like you are at a low part of that area. You may need to add dirt and fill in the area more( pack it down) and grade away from where you plan on putting the foundation. This will allow you to maintain a dry foundation and move water away from your structure.
In order to get the olive branches to make a tree you need to put in water in the time before you plant them and when you do plant them you need to put some root establishing product on them and wrap. I am sure you can find many videos on just how to do this so you get the results you want.
Hi guys it shows a wet spot on your land that may well need a French drain or two around th foundation area for the future! Worth digging around now to try and see if this will work enough for you. You say it’s the only spot so put in as many ditches drainage as possible before you get too far into the build. Surely it can only help to maintain integrity of your base. Good luck I will follow your progress ❤👍
Hubby worried about your shed being built there, I did explain that you knew best. Well done G with cutting the firewood another week of lots of work done. Hopefully your weather will start getting better soon xxx
All will be cool with the shed, it’s just enormous amount of rain we had in a short space of time 👍 we haven’t started cutting firewood yet, them were just a few stumps from trees we felt 😁
what a joy to watch your video again, good job how you pruned the olives, now they produce lots of fruits. love that eucalyptis wood, its almost white. greetings from Holland
Great video guys I guess you've got a new wood cutter now Andrius 😂 you both had us laughing all the way through but why you making a bridge made out of fungus don't you like him 😂😂😂😂 take care
If you’re building your shed near to the house because you want to store your wood for the fire there it will definitely affect the wood if the shed floods continuously throughout the winter! You could try running a French drain around the base of the shed in a hopes of redirecting the water around rather than through the shed. It quite amazing just how much water there actually is! ❤
You guys really crack me up🤣😂🤣 Always on the go, busy, but always with a sense of humour. The Australian native "fungi" is also prolific here in South Africa. Fire hazard plus. The fire season this year has been pretty devastating, particularly the latest one where they had to evacuate an entire town😟
I love that app!! But how funny it thought the tree was fungi!! Brilliant video as always, with music I associate with you.. I'm always startled if someone else uses it on their video!! 😅 💜
Lots accomplished 👏! Well done on chopping the firewood, Dee 😂. Its amazing how much sawdust that tree generated when cut. You are really self-sufficient for compost toilet sawdust.
É normal o solo, no centro e norte de Portugal, ficar saturado de água no inverno, principalmente quando chove muito. Não há problema nenhum com as fundações das construções. Have fun.
EXCELLENT WORK, WITH A LITTLE MORE TRAINING WITH THE CHAINSAW, YOU CAN USE MORE WOOD! THIS TECHNIQUE IS GOOD. EUCALYPETS ARE POISON, SPOIL THE LAND AND CONSUME A LOT OF WATER
O eucalipto é a melhor madeira para fazer estruturas. Mas enquanto o corte é recente, depois de seco é muito duro nem o bicho da madeira ataca o eucalipto. Esse eucalipto deve ter 5 ou 6 anos.
No no they are staying, they are part of our land and will be providing us with firewood and building materials, obviously we will be managing them accordingly 👍

:) Well we still drying it .. didn't had time to build that garage as we concentrating on the house ... G xxx
I think you should put your building further back on the higher ground where you have the bricks stacked. It looks like you may have exposed a small spring.
It’s not a spring, all the water coming from the upper terrace 😁 when foundations were dug it stayed dry until it started to rain
When it’s opened up into a straight extension ladder it will open up to 18 feet!
Maybe one day 👍
You guys are fast becoming one of my favourite UA-cam channels to watch. Love your content and easy natural way you communicate.
Thank you for your kind words, very happy to hear that 😁🤩
Boa tarde!! A poda da uva você só corta a ponteira do ramo.quando brotar produz mais cachos. O ideal seria amara_ em um arame. Boa sorte.

We will manage with what we got I think, it’s just too much stuff is in a garage already 😁
As long as once you pour the footings, make sure those are above where the standing water is appearing now. and than just add fill to build up that area to make sure that where the building and the entrance has run off away from that low spot after you add fill . including the driveway into the new building
I know what you mean, yes lowest part of the foundation will be above ground level 👍
Eucalyptus and fig take huge amounts of water from the land. The eucalyptus when dried and turned makes beautiful bowls etc.
They do for sure, hope will have equipment to work with wood in the future 👍
Building bridges is always a good thing! 😊 The shed will get built when it is time, and it will be awesome.❤
Yes… so many projects this year 😁
Perhaps that would be a good spot for a natural swimming pool. ;-)
Only in winter time 🤣😁

We don’t have that sort of temperature even in the winter to crack foundations 😁👍

Soil gets saturated with water anywhere on our land when it rains, can’t really avoid it, don’t believe it’s going to be a problem

It’s not necessary to put them in the water, regarding stuff for the roots yes it is good to use it, just don’t have any at the moment 😁

It’s just because it rain a lot, and water seeps from the higher terrace once we pour the foundations there won’t be a problem anymore 👍
I just love your videos!😍
Thank you so much!! Thank you for watching 😁👍
Well done Gi! 😁
Thank you!! 😁

Thoroughly enjoy your videos!!!!😊😊😊 🇬🇷 🇬🇷
Thanks so much! 😊🤩
Great video 👍 always great vibes from you both 😂
Thank you so much 😁
what a joy to watch your video again, good job how you pruned the olives, now they produce lots of fruits. love that eucalyptis wood, its almost white. greetings from Holland
Thank you! Next year we will have very little olives but later in the future trees will produce more 😁
Great video guys I guess you've got a new wood cutter now Andrius 😂 you both had us laughing all the way through but why you making a bridge made out of fungus don't you like him 😂😂😂😂 take care
Glad you had a giggles ;) your comments always make us laugh as well ;) thank you
Using what we got 🤣😁👍

I think problem are rocks and boulders under the ground, thats why water is staying, but shed won’t be flooding in the winter 😁👍
You guys really crack me up🤣😂🤣 Always on the go, busy, but always with a sense of humour.

👋 thanks 😁 yes we happen to see already how eucalyptus can burn… need to be very careful in the summer
You can put a French drain around the building to soak away the ground water
Not so simple as it looks 😁
Kaip faina pas jus, kad galit dirbti trumpomis rankovemis🌞🌝☉🌝🌞🌝☉🌞🌝☉
Nu jo ziema cia gera, nuo sausio jau geresni orai prasideda 👍
I love that app!! But how funny it thought the tree was fungi!!

❤❤❤ Hello Liz!! Andrius do have a nice taste of music 🎵 🎵🎵 hope to see you soon
Them soundtracks are on youtube audio library and everyone is free to use them 😁👍
epic. thank you
😁👋🤩
You could cut a drain into the foundations it will drain itself 😊
Will dig that hose a bit in the ground, was planning that 😁👍
❤️❤️👏😊😊
:)
Lots accomplished 👏! Well done on chopping the firewood, Dee 😂. Its amazing how much sawdust that tree generated when cut. You are really self-sufficient for compost toilet sawdust.
Whats regarding saw dust/chippings yeah we done it and really are self sufficient 🤣😁
It will be really interesting to see if you can get any saplings from the cuttings.👍
We shall see 😁
Hmm? ...maybe this is a GOOD place to build a well
No, there is a rock underneath, like everywhere else on our land, and people who carved 3 wells into the solid granite really deserve a medal 🏅
Have you considered digging a french drain from there?
We will leave it to drain naturally for now, as our main renovation process has started 👍😁
Nice to watch thanks
Glad you enjoyed it 🤗😁

That’s exactly what I thought! Thank you 👍
We will have to enter you two, into the Guinness Book Of Records with your 26 year old Fungi 😂 My app is forever getting it wrong too ! 😵💫. 👍
Oh yes especially when we got proof! It’s on video 🤣😁
EXCELLENT WORK, WITH A LITTLE MORE TRAINING WITH THE CHAINSAW, YOU CAN USE MORE WOOD! THIS TECHNIQUE IS GOOD. EUCALYPETS ARE POISON, SPOIL THE LAND AND CONSUME A LOT OF WATER
Thank you, I know that eucalyptus are bad but once we have them we will keep them 😁
Do you paint the olive tree you cut? Love the cats.
Not really, don’t have anything to paint with at the moment
hi guys another great vid, good to see you out and about, good luck
Hello 👋 thank you for sticking with us 😁
V satisfying to watch the hard olive tree pruning results 💪🪚
It’s just the fact that next year it will be very little olive is not so good 😁
@@portugalitis but bumper crop the year after ;)
True 😁👍
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys, good work guys 👍😁.
Our pleasure! 👋🤩👍
That tree is just about as straight as I am.😝
Part of it is 😁
Прокопать траншею по направлению как шланги лежат от угла
Already done it 👍😁
You do know that blowing had the same effect, really. 😂 Try it, it works for me.👍
Im happy with my method 🤣😁
Is it possible to put a French drain around your barn?
Have a brilliant idea on what Im going to do, will definitely share it in future videos 👍😁
Eucalyptus trees are very thirsty, living in a very dry area we've been told not to plant them as they have affected our water table already.
I just have no clue where they are taking water in the summer
O eucalipto é a melhor madeira para fazer estruturas. Mas enquanto o corte é recente, depois de seco é muito duro nem o bicho da madeira ataca o eucalipto. Esse eucalipto deve ter 5 ou 6 anos.
When we will have a shed then will prepare more eucalyptus for future projects, thank you 👍
❤
❤️❤️❤️
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
🇵🇹
You need to get rid of those Australian trees they are a fire hazard and a weed tree in Portugal
No no they are staying, they are part of our land and will be providing us with firewood and building materials, obviously we will be managing them accordingly 👍
