This reminds me of the hippy communes in the 70s in the US. I witnessed firsthand. Always like this in the beginning… cooperative, ground-breaking, and intentional. Just beware the trap of hierarchy and success. Money & power ruin good intentions. Stay humble my friends. 🙏
People have been deluded into thinking an “advanced society” looks like: flying cars and skyscrapers with robots and computers that do everything. But that’s not it at all!!!! This place is what an “advanced society” looks like!!! Living with and in nature!!!! Not “conquering” it and destroying everything!! I absolutely love this amazing and magical place they have created!!! If the whole world lived this way our world would be a paradise!!! Cheers
I lived in this amazing community for 2 months and I can confirm that it is a great way to live sustainably. There are also many more things happening that aren’t mentioned in this video! This place will always be in my heart as well as the people I shared the experience with ❤ If you can support them in any way, please do 🙏🏻
It looks like alot of good people trying to not waste the way most of the world does, and most importantly to me, helping innocent Animals. Not a bad way to live one's life!!👍🏻😄🐾🌈☮️🇨🇦
Yes, I didn't understand why there wasn't a lot of dialogue between the camera people/persons and the people of this place... in other episodes, when it's about humans this-and-that, they go on-and-on about the smallest things... and in this one, where there seemed many interesting things to discuss and understand, nothing much was said.
I didn’t want this episode to end! Thank you so much Kirsten…seeing this community in action fills me up. I’d love to see even more “behind the scenes” of this magical place and to hear more of the volunteers and workers stories and experiences of living and working at the Tenerife horse rescue.
YES it is fascinating! I've lived there and still found new things from this video! But hey you'll find more of their life in their own channel Tenerife Horse Rescue if you're interested ❤
KIRSTEN , YOU SIMPLY PRESENT THE LOVE FOR EARTH , LIFE AND HUMANITY , SURVIVING WITH HARMONY.... BY CHOICE. HUMANS ARE ENTITLED THE RIGHT TO SHELTER AND FOOD.!!!! BE BLESSED... THIS IS WONDERFUL!
I purposely don't skip ads to support the channel Just loved your content I am from India here people going for sustainability are very low on yt space. But you have made an everlasting impression on my mind Thx kristen
I found a great Indian video about a family that moved from the city to an overfarmed area where locals were struggling with drought/water table lowering etc. This urban family used Permaculture principles to restore their degraded block and quickly made it so productive (three years i think) that all their neighbours wanted to learn about Permaculture too. Its a great video, should be easy to find.. There are online courses i think, if you can't travel to learn about how to do it.
That was fantastic. That aspect called Freeganism is interesting and it has to be acknowledged that it takes some special co-operation from supermarkets to facilitate it. Even though it is a win win situation there is a history of antagonism from commercial operators and it's great to see that ridiculous 'waste' being put to good use. Keep up the amazing work!
yes, some places i guess have very strict rules relating to ''food hygeine'' or what have youl. Where we are in southern Australia, in the cities most supermarkets are very aware that the ''wastage'' can be safely repurposed and are willing to help out. Our universities also work with primary producers to encourage them to re-badge non perfect fresh produce (apples, pears, carrots etc) that might be slightly the wrong shape or size, and resell it separately in bulk bags for the bargain bins. Its a win win, as the budget conscious shopper gets a cheaper deal and the produce is not just ploughed back into the ground or dumped. Our government here is doing a lot to reduce waste that way....thankfully.
This is 100% how people are meant to live! Reusing and making their own stuff. It's wholesome and it's empowering! Hearing that guy speak about how he learnt to tile was amazing! Such respect
i'm noticing more and more of these types of communities springing up in various countries, its great to see. Ever since Permaculture practices have really spread around the world, i see transformative communities springing up also, If you are wishing to be involved, there are Permaculture courses even online nowadays - and probably some group near you doing either this or learning to build with straw bale or adobe, you name it...(create a house that doesn't need fossil fuels to heat or cool it). If i was young i would be out there looking for what's happening near me, or that i could easily travel to so i could help out. Good luck to all!
For water, all they need is to take water from the ocean, then using the sunshine and some recycled panes of glass to create a type of greenhouse where the water is heated by the sun and the evaporated water collects on the glass which is angled down so the condensation trickles down into a catchment trough, like a plastic pipe cut in half, and the water travels along that into a water storage tank. The leftover salt can be collected and used or even sold as sea salt, if they use a Food Safe system of making it in stainless steel trays or whatever is required it could be packaged as Tenerife Sea Salt, "Buy this salt to help support the animal sanctuary."
Very interesting! I'm currently on a slow hiking trip through the Canary islands and this would be a great place to stay and help. Thank you for this video.
Hola, hello beautiful, beautiful world what a beautiful thing you all are beyond bless to have sooo much more blessing in your journey hope, faith, Love ,funn and more Amor never take anything for granted ❤️🌈🦋❤️
@@Vbluevital there are a few different options, the main one for large pieces of land is a large water tank which can be filled with water from the tunnels under the volcano. You can also be connected to the local water or have water trucked in.
I love how EVERYTHING here is reclaimed, refurbished, repurposed and resourcefully used. All of this initially from saving the animals and the land. I only wish I was young and could go there. I have always detested waste and seeing this community makes me so happy & hopeful for the future. I hope many people see this and learn how to live simply, sustainably and joyfully.
DIY homestead have always the best designs because you can always add something creative to your homes without spending much..very nice place😊👍and surrounded by nature and animals are just amazing!

Wow. What a wonderful example of creativity and innovation in a harsh land! And hard work, as well. Now that's a horse rescue extraordinaire. I really enjoyed the entire video; I was actually sad when it ended.
Amazing ingenuity in living creativly and sustainably with nature and the community they have built. Really thought-provoking film, opening your mind to endless possibilites in the way we can live freely and happily. 💟
Kirsten, you and Nicolas are unbelievably productive, idk how can you put out these amazing videos so frequently, thank you for letting us know these amazing people/places.
I found this video quite humbling in terms of what can be done when we think creatively about treating resources in a circular way - i.e. one person's waste is another person's resource to make something useful & beautiful. Inspirational.
i wanna go there and experience every little but wonderful things with them and the resque animals❤super loved the simplicity and the beauty of this community❤❤❤
God bless all these loving and kind and hard-working people/family. I wish them continued success and prosperity and health and happiness.
What a beautiful community of people living with the land, not dominating the land. We all should live so mindfully!
@mariacancer The real Maria passed away Feb 2023 - you are a despicable scammer
This is so amazing, you guys have done such a fantastic job.

It's not just a horse rescue. It's a haven for humanity 😊❤
Indirectly, this community has “rescued” people by giving them a wonderful purpose, mission advocacy, and sustainable lifestyle 👍👍👍👍
What an amazing way to live!

Fit people doing creative stuff and making desserts habitable... 👍👍
I just have to say I absolutely adore this guy's accent and choice of words.
What a cute couple. I love how the guy ads "ah" to the end of english words. Very cute english/latin
Put up nets to catch the condensation, they do it in deserts.
I think those need to be gigantic to produce much
