- The Legend of Monkey Island is the latest game in the franchise coming as apart of Sea of Thieves. After being teased two years ago, the team at Rare are delivering a uniquely Monkey Island story.

The new story will take place after the third game, Guybrush had his honeymoon in the Sea of thieves where he ended up getting killed and now he is in the Sea of the Dammed where LeChuck is using Guybrush’s memories to keep him trapped there, this information was gathered from an interview I read and from the trailer itself
This takes place after Curse of Monkey Island but takes most inspiration from Secret of Monkey Island
From what I can tell it’s going to be Guybrush under some sort of voodoo spell and we’ll replay parts of Secret of Monkey Island in order to save him

Also, what do you think the canonicaly of this story is? I don't consider this to be canon, hense tall tales, but I sure can't wait to play it again!
Hello! One of the devs did an interview with (i thinkk) xbox wire and they've said that the game takes place between curse and escape, during Guybrush's honeymoon! I also tweeted one of the producers at Lucasfilm to ask if it was canon and he liked it, so I reckon it is supposed to be a canon story!

Do we know how long the games is approximately? Perhaps based on the length of earlier DLCs if nothing else.
So the Pirates of the Caribbean story content was roughly 10 hours long consisting of 5 Tell Tale episodes. The Monkey Island story content will be three episodes, but the islands will be fully explorable so I'm sure there will be lots of time spent running around a 3D Melee and Monkey Island!
Hi. Is it action or point and click or a mix of both? I saw a health bar?
The devs have said it's a point and click in their sea of thieves first person style so I'd expect it to be a healthy mix of both!

I want the point and click and animated cell version like Monkey Island 3, even the redone Monkey 1 and 2 were great graphics. Stay away from the akward 3D style...yuk.

@@CaptPierce I know, but the same actor doesn't fit the 3D character. It looks much older than his voice, feels out of place...
@@malokegames : I thought the same. They should have made the character look more like the Guybrush in Curse, which is what Dominic’s voice was originally casted for. Also, this game is apparently set after Curse, so it doubly makes sense.

Sad to say this, but at this point, seeing how Return turned out, I think Ron Gilbert not being involved is actually a good thing.

@OMA2k Yeah, from feel of this trailer, this looks like the game Return should have been.
It's fine, it's not a full monkey Island game anyway, you don't play as guybrush.

Sea of thieves isn't my kind of game, unfortunately... I only play solo, and action-free if possible. Unless this dlc introduces a more casual-friendly gameplay?
You can definitely play it solo, especially the Tall Tale story content. I don't know about it being action free but they devs have said they've created it as a point and click game in their first person style - so it might okay! I'll definitely put up a spoiler free review when it comes out :)
You can play it solo and no people can interrupt it but I wouldn’t get sea of thieves because 40 dollars for 3 tall tales wouldn’t be worth it just for this I would get the original monkey island games personally I personally love sea of thieves but it’s not everyone’s type of game
