The main reason I want this game to have a Special Edition because I want the game to be on sale again. I want more people to experience it and like it. Not to mention playing this awesome game in shiny HD graphics. The newer generation deserves to experience what we experienced in our childhoods. Point and Click adventure games will thrive again!
LeChuck is absolutely one of my favorite characters in any story ever. He has a fantastic voice, he rules essentially every scene he's in, and he has just the right touch of humor to his lines. "Bring me more 'slaw!" is just legendary. XD
The cutscenes from this game literally makes me feel like I'm watching a full length Cartoon or Hand Drawn Animated film from the old two decades between 1990's & 2000's.
The art style of this MI is just amazing to this day, it is cartoony but not in a childish way, it is perfect update of older "pixelart" games. The new game is a step back in every aspect for me.
There is no other game that touches my heart quite like this one. I love every single thing about it, everything. The music, the voices, the art style, the 3d ship, the water, the sky clouds, the entire gameplay, seriously. Everything. For me, there is not a single flaw in this game, but I'm super bias, and it's one of the first games I have ever played on PC when I was little, along with Full Throttle (another masterpiece)
If you spend enough time (and I mean ENOUGH time...) on the rollercoaster of death, LeChuck will end up trying to convince Guybrush to be turned into an undead pirate and join his crew. That shows how impossible has become for him to simply kill the guy. Like they say, if you can't win them, turn them undead and make them join your crew.
And to think Haggis is actually 1987 Ducktales' Scrooge McDuck [not to mention Meathook in the Special Edition (both the original and new graphics) is actually Liquid Snake himself]. I didn't actually recognize them until I saw the credits for the games themselves. (Also, Mr. Fossey is MGS' Raiden)
Yeah, that's also a pet peeve of mine, but this game was created by the other two guys who worked on the first games, I think? Pretty sure they had a rough idea of what Gilbert wanted to do. My only question is: how did Guybrush escape LeChuck's carnival from the second game?
When they redid the graphics for 1 and 2, I was so disappointed when they picked whatever the fuck that hideous style was instead of doing it in the style of 3.
I like how every game has an unique art style. 1, 2, 3, 5 and 1 and 2 remastered are quite unique and good in their own way. The 4th game never happened. The new one by Ron Gilbert looks a bit shitty too, hopefully it plays nice...
Dude so I played this when I was like 5 with my Dad and a few years back for nostalgia, but I swear it was another ending scene. It was something about the amusement park and the dog and it all being a dream, and I just saw return to monkey Island so I don't think I'm imagining it lol
That line is one of the few that I want to quote so badly but can never find an opportunity to use it let alone use it on someone who knows what I am talking about!

2 years ago I couldn't discern whether this was an honest question or not, either way, here's the answer: There was a "rule" adopted by some artists back in the day that stated that cartoon characters should have 4 fingers in each hand instead of 5. No idea why.
Simple, it's easier for artists to draw hands with four fingers than it is to draw them with five (Hands are one of the most hardest parts of the human anatomy to draw correctly, I know from experience).
Wish they built the game graphics on this style. That would have made sense in marketing too kids played this version grew up and made money I dunno who they think gonna pay for those other horrible version of monkey island.

It is on Steam NOW
And also on GOG

With this Voodoo cannonball, I'll blast my significant other, into the significant, other world!! Haha!! That'll show her how much I truly care :3
AydinPrower I love his flaming beard too! XD
+roboguy75 Lechuck: Suffering Sailors! Tis good to be dead!!! AHAHAHAHAARRGH!
Satoshi Katsumoto Indeed :3
***** Long time no see.
I love the art and color palette of this game.

Who here reckons Bill Tiller draws the most EPIC clouds. Such an unmistakable and nostalgic style.

I played this game for a quarter of a century by now...and I learned this just now...
WHAT THE BIG WHOOP?!?
@@EnlighthenedOne123 Your first playthrough was better than mine then. I found out about this because I got stuck in the rollercoaster XD.
That's the second best cutscene compilation I've ever seen
me too, i feel this more agréable than improbable ;D
Voodoo cannonball has "L.C. + E.M." written on it xD
That will show her how much he really cares.
😳 22 years later and I just noticed. Nice find

Gary Coleman (of all people) voiced Kenny Falmouth in this game too
"And more slaw!" I don't know why, but that line cracks me up every time.
Cutthroat bill is adorable
I love this so so much, it was the the first pc game my mum let me play. was awesome!!
these animations are why i love MI 3!
Who else played number 1 and 2?
/raises hand
And who else is mad, that we will never get to see the version of Monkey Island 3, that Ron Gilbert originally intended?
Me: *Seeing LeChuck blow up in the rollercoaster zone* "Second time is a charm. Eh, Captain?"
This was our Sea of Thieves in better times! 😉
Not to mention the AC IV: BF/R(ogue) of those times.
I love this game, but I'm still mad, that we'll never get to see the version of Monkey Island 3, that Ron Gilbert originally intended.

You’re in luck! It just got announced! ua-cam.com/video/sahskKAxSCY/v-deo.html
How do you feel now it’s just been announced we’ll be getting Ron Gilbert’s MI3 later this year?
@@ZoeDowler Habbadahabbadahabbadahabbadahabbadahabbadahabbahabbadahabbadahabbadahabbahabbada...
What did you say ?
Anyone else catch the Star Wars Blaster Rifle noise at 0:21?
Look at the angel statue at 5:30.
[3:33] That's one helluva entrance!
Monkey island humour do be built like a cereal commercial
One of my fav games of all time.
LeChuck with his army of the undead reminds me of Captain Flameheart from Sea of Thieves. XD
a damn good adventure game that is in no way inferior to the first two parts.
most epic game ever made
Your reasoning is so much better than everyone elses. Six thousand points to you. But then again, the points don't matter.
Why would this version need a special edition? The Special Editions were bringing the first 2 games a 21st century feel and added voices.
how can you pick up 2 boots with one hook..... besides it´s abrilliant idea to fish out a pair of laughing boots with green smoke coming out of them

It’s weird to think they were going to the sea of thieves at the end of this game
special edition for 2013 i hope
I finally figured it out! This animation reminds me a bit of Klasky Csupo!
Guybrush is just a lanky Nigel Thornberry, in this game! 🤣
I've heard that they ran out of money and weren't able to do the ending cutscene, which is why the ending is so... um... abrupt.
Dude so I played this when I was like 5 with my Dad and a few years back for nostalgia, but I swear it was another ending scene. It was something about the amusement park and the dog and it all being a dream, and I just saw return to monkey Island so I don't think I'm imagining it lol
Much better looking than Return to Monkey Island
Question: How many fingers do the characters have (in all of the scenes)?
And (if anybody knows): why?
Just so it'll work without Scumm, and also so a younger generation can get introduced to it.
more slaw! XD
That line is one of the few that I want to quote so badly but can never find an opportunity to use it let alone use it on someone who knows what I am talking about!
The music, the animations, the atmosphere - all so top notch. They unfortunately completely ruined the series after MI3.
Yeah, why didn’t they continue in this style?

4:57 IS that demoman voice
I don't think so, but if it is, man, that lad has never had any luck huh?
If you were still wondering then no. Van Helgen is voiced by Michael Sorich, Demoman is Gary Schwartz.
I never figured why everyone have only 8 fingers in this game
+Junglehiker00 00 maybe secretly they have 12 foot fingers and everything evens out
+Guido Fedeli Those are called TOES.
yeah I know, I forgot then and there and couldn't be bothered to look it up.
