Thank you to all the wonderful people that support this channel and make it possible! As we grow and grow and produce much more content, it gets increasingly difficult to keep up, but it’s because of the positivity of our viewers and sponsors that this is all do able.
BTW- I have zero shame in having sponsors that make these videos possible. I do a great job of making sure that the education is first and foremost and that there is always something applicable without using any sponsor. You don’t have to buy the products I pitch in my videos at all. They are there to help if you wish.
If I continue to make this full time, then I need to make a living too.

If I add Hymillayan Pink Salt to my bone broth when I break a fast am I actually increasing any benefit or am I detracting from anything?
Also, since adopting a Keto diet, incorporating IF, and an A.M. cardio routine (before I have breakfast), I'm down to 268 (morning weigh-in today) from 289.9 (when I started Jan 28th).
Your channel and the science you provide, and the constituting evidence has been a big contributing factor to my success thus far, just wanted to say thank you.

Thomas, I think you need a disclaimer in your about page. Something to the effect that these are all your opinions and that entitled lazy people shouldn’t hold you accountable for any changes in your perspective or message. Then you can direct all the troll types there to read said disclaimer. Just a thought that will save time justifying what you do to thick headed types.

As a person who once taught multimedia in a high school, I don’t think some people have an understanding of how much time and effort goes into the production of these videos. Kudos for having sponsors while maintaining your excellent content. When you see a 10 to 15 minute video, it takes HOURS, sometimes DAYS to get to the final product. He doesn’t just wake up in the morning, scratch his head, and say “hmmm, I think I’ll talk about salt today.” And then film it and upload it. Gotta have an idea first, research and gather content, write a script, videotape it, edit it, and upload it. And editing is it’s own little time-consuming process. Your content has helped me, dude! Still a long way from where I want to be but I’m on the road. Thanks for spending your time trying to help people. ❤️

My blood pressure was 197/101 and , I think, on the verge of I don' t know what. I watched a dozen of your videos the day my Dr. told me I had to do something about my weight. We have friends whose son had the condition you were talking about. He almost died several times before he was diagnosed. When they found out what was causing his problem they were able to control it. One of the things they had to do was keep salt shakers all over the house where he could reach them. When he was still a toddler he would shake out the salt and lick it off of everything. When we were travelling with him we would stop and get him french fries and load them with salt. He's now 51 and living a normal life but still has to have loads of salt on everything.

Just a thought, based on what you said... You stated, that in fasted state or keto - insulin surpressed and as result of it, kidneys secret extra sodium. So maybe cravings for sugar is not a "crossed wires" but type of defencive mechanism of a body in order to preserve salt. Person eats sugar, insulin rises, kidneys secreting less salt. It does look logical (at least for me :) )

My legs are cramping almost every night, I have edema, a headache & extremely fatigued. I have been using Redmond's primarily for salt. The reason is they provide analysis results on-line and I have been unable to find a definitive analysis for the pink salts. I put some in the filter before the coffee when making coffee and it keeps the blood levels up in the normal range. Have also heard that some Himalayan pink salt, mined in the same region, has excessive lead content. So know your supplier.

I also took the LMNT electrolytes drinks you recommended everyday since I started and I’ve had zero sugar cravings so far. I also add pink Himalayan salt to my eggs in the morning (and even started adding a pinch to my coffee). So far this has been keeping me feeling good. Praying I don’t get the Keto flu too bad (or at all lol) and this continues to abate sugar cravings. Thank you so much for all of your advice!! It’s made a world of difference so far.

Could it be inferred the body "detects" low sodium and has two ways to compensate? Either by consuming glucose therefore increasing insulin and therefore decreasing secretion of sodium OR by bringing in more sodium we hack the system to stop craving sugar??? Either way it's a beautiful example of systems redundancy.

Great video as always and a lesson for me to go for salt when I'm craving sugar. Some seniors also need more salt . . . My mother (early 80s and eats a whole food diet) would have dizzy spells and would always go for orange juice as a pick-me-up. She was also urinating all the time. I had her try a pinch of Hsalt under the tongue (with water after) throughout the day. Problem solved. Also, she didn't need to go to the bathroom during the night as often. Another problem solved.

I grew up on a low sodium diet because my mother is hypertensive. I hated it and never agreed with it. I think it made her crabby. However she’s not fat; she’s super skinny. She also doesn’t drink water, only coffee. I have never seen my mother take a drink of water. I think we need sodium chloride, but we do not need the sodium chemicals found in processed foods. I try to eat food in natural states, and use pink Himalayan salt. I agree with this video 100%. Btw, if you feel hungry, you might be thirsty. I posit that the reason that we crave sugar while salt depleted is that the body is trying to move us out of a ketogenic state. As soon as we are not in the ketogenic state, our body quits shedding sodium at an extreme rate. We can live off of stored fat/muscle, but we die without salt.
I love the Redmond's salt. I found it at my local health food store( not a chain, ran by professionals) a few years ago and haven't looked back. [thumbs up] I am glad they are sponsoring your channel.

All vegetables have natural salts (celery, leeks, artichokes, kale, cabbage, spring onions, etc), and if you're eating them every week, there is no way you would be sodium deficient.
I have a high sensitivity to salt, so I have not added salt (not even pink himalayan or kosher salt that everyone's been telling me about) for 11 years now, and I don't have a sodium deficiency or low salt intake according to the tests I've taken. I don't crave salty or sweet foods (I actually find sweet fruits a bit too sweet, and have no need to add stevia or monkfruit or coconut nectar to my smoothies) as my palette has cleansed and my tastes have changed.
Of course, because of this, I can never walk in to a place and casually order a meal because, guess what, salt is in everything..! It's astonishing that, even at health food restaurants, you'd be hard pressed to find a salt-free meal because they pre-prep their ingredients, and salt is a flavour enhancer. Without it, customers with regular palettes will say that the meal tastes bland.

Anyways, we get a hold of one and feed it a lot of salt over the cause of a few hours. It makes them thirsty and then we let it loose. It will lead us directly to the hidden water at a run. Always works.

Low sodium does help in many ways but getting more potassium works a lot better. If you're on a high sodium diet, you need significantly more potassium in your diet. RDA is 4G of potassium vs 2G of sodium. So if you're eating 5G of sodium a day, you need 10g of potassium to maintain that ratio!

Salt (sodium chloride), it has chemical property of holding water with it which you can well appreciate during high humidity it becomes moist or cakes(nowadays anti-caking chemicals added in table salt to prevent caking like calcium silicate, sodium and potassium ferrocyanide, poly dimethyl siloxane etc), So in our circulatory system it holds water and increases circulating blood volume causing increased pressure on blood vessels, in young healthy subjects blood vessels are elastic and they sustain such pressure rise but over the course of age they start to deposit fat in them causing luminal narrowing and hardening giving rise to stroke. So every type of salt either table salt(over fortified for marketing) sea salt( with micro plastic and pollutants found in modern sea) , rock salt(is dried natural pure sea water trapped in the mountains/rocks /layers of land) retains water to raise the blood pressure "SO EVERY SALT ASSALTS" as every food in nature has appropriate amount of salt (sod Chloride) in it and this is sufficient for healthy human. However in few medical condition salt therapy may be needed.

Redmond Salt in water has caused me to not feel dehydrated. It is said that it causes water to get into cells where it belongs, rather than building up in the area around them. From how I feel since drinking Redmond Salt water I tend to think it must be true.
Also, one's skin looks better when it becomes properly hydrated.

Now I put quality salt and potassium in my whey shakes and heavily salt my OMAD re-feed meals as well as take it in the morning with water before fasted gym. It used to be before keto that even small amounts of light salting was too intense for me. I’m glad Thomas is defending himself against these kind of comments and that he’s explaining the simple reality that we all evolve and learn as we go. Try taking free content you watch on UA-cam with “a grain of salt” of your own choice - wink-wink. Like don’t buy a case of salt and then get mad that Thomas realized there’s a slightly better product out there. I’m sticking with Himalayan salt as it’s what I have and 60 minerals and it possibly being the second best salt is fine with me. It’s wise to try products that are suggested to you in small quantities so you can make your own decisions. Buying a large block of salt because someone on UA-cam told you to is naive and complaining about it is adolescent.

In fact it increases the autophagy and also makes you more daring and risk-taker during fasting period. Here is one twisted reality which I'll be bashed for, the ACV with MOTHER is not potent I guess the mother thing slows down the fire but when I have filtered ACV the Heinz one, it literally starts the reaction and I can feel it, I can feel sort of gas running in my nerves and it is widening my nose air pipe and I feel I am breathing much better and I feel there is some sort of good Gas which makes a sound nearby my jaw and back of the head and feels like it's is going inside my cavity eyes and ears..... and boy thats time I am focused like an assassin, daring like a yakuza and clever like a mad scientist, it also gives you edge when you are interacting with women.... If you have all your seduction knowledge checked but cannot implement due to hesitation then boy autophagy with unfiltered ACV is your answer. I am not promoting Heinz, it is my personal finding. Do come back with your finding. Alternatively I was thinking can other natural fruit vinegar can do the same stuff?

I doubt it is just a matter of your brain "getting confused" as far as the sweet substitute for salt - as he says himself, if you are in ketosis, your insulin is low and by consequence you are flushing out water and electrolytes too easily. Evolutionarily then, there is probably the overlap because if you eat something sweet, it will ostensibly spike your insulin and at least allow you to hold more water and electrolytes for a time, which helps partly address the root of the salt craving.
