I remember discovering Clapton a few "years" ago and doing a deep dive into his Cream/John Mayall's Blues breakers stuff. This is one of MY all time favourites! Thanks, Jason.

Great lively performance. As a guitarist for book trailers about comics who seeks inspiration, your instruction here is nice since you nicely explain how to move chords around describe how to bend various tones. Cheers!

Great lesson thank you very much. It really helped me a lot. I really like how you say the name of the notes it helps with learning the fret board and it is a clearer easier way for me to learn. Thanks again keep up the great work.

Great stuff! I knew a fair bit of this but this has really helped fill in the missing gaps and your explanation is easier for me to wrap my head around than some other lessons for this song. I’m guessing you’re a busy guy but if you get the opportunity please could you look at Behind The Veil by Jeff Beck? Thanks again, have a good weekend Mr. Read.

Great lesson. Thanks for sharing your knowledge & skills! So great you include the lead lines!
Any plans for a lesson on Cream's rendition of Born Under a Bad Sign?!

Well done Mr. Read. Both the playing and the tone are spot on. Are you using any pedals to get that sound or is it just gain. Cheers,👍👍

Gain on amp but roll back on guitar volume & tone. Half cocked wah left in position.

Damn, that's one heck of a guitar tone you've got there. I jut discovered your channel. Great stuff. I like how you cover tunes that are a bit less popular. Just subscribed. Thanks. I'll try to donate a few bucks when I'm not so broke. One request if it's not too much trouble... can you please consider mentioning what effects, guitar and amp you're using at the beginning of your videos? It would be helpful for those of use trying to learn more about achieving tones. Thank you. Great playing!

A nifty trick I developed for Strange Brew, to avoid barre chord fatigue, is to voice the A7 with an open A as the root, the a at the 7th fret d-string as the octave a, the c# at the 6th fret g-string as the major third, and the g at the 8th fret b-string as the 7th.
    I play the D7 as follows: D (root) 5th fret a-string; f# (major 3rd) 4th fret d-string; c (dominant 7th) 5th fret g-string; d (octave root) 3rd fret b-string.
I also play the A7 for Soul Kitchen by The Doors, which features the same chord progression, this way. Except for Soul Kitchen I play the D7 as follows: D (root) open d-string; d (octave root) 7th fret g-string; f# (major 3rd) 7th fret b-string; c (dominant 7th) 8th fret e-string. These voicing allow the open root to ring.
Try playing the D7 in Soul Kitchen in the position detailed above and then quickly (16th notes) sliding it a half step lower and returning.

    The rifff between the chords
starts on 3 1/2 , or the 'up'
    after 3, 3 and a half beats.

Love your playing and this newly discovered channel. I don't expect a tutorial of all or any of the following songs, but figured I'd mention a few great tunes for consideration or just listening to in case anyone is interested in checking out some songs they may not be familiar with...
"Pretty Pimpin" by Kurt Vile / "Loading Zones" by Kurt Vile / "1952 Vincent Black Lightning" by Richard Thompson / "Old Pine" by Ben Howard / "Crackalacka" by Left Lane Cruiser / "Sonic Armada" by Air / "Frenzy" Screamin' by Jay Hawkins / "Desert Raven" by Jonathan Wilson / "Someday Baby" by R.L. Burnside / "Nest of a Cuckoo Bird" by The Cramps / 'The Boy With The Arab Strap" by Belle & Sebastian / "Paranoid Android" by Radiohead / "Smaller and Smaller" by Faith No More / "Televators" by Mars Volta / "Intertiatic Esp" by Mars Volta / "Lazerhead" by Sticky Fingers.

How did they play live if there are three members and two guitars on the song??

    • @thejaseguitar
      @thejaseguitar  3 роки тому +1

Live they wouldn’t have rhythm guitar during the solos. In the studio they can overdub.
